WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on President-elect Donald Trump (all times EST): 10 a.m. House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi is calling the decision to tap Ben Carson as head of Housing and Urban Development a “disconcerting and disturbingly unqualified choice.” Pelosi says the country deserves someone with “relevant experience” to protect the rights of homeowners and renters. In her statement released Monday, she says “there is no evidence that Dr. Carson brings the necessary credentials to hold a position with such immense responsibilities and impact on families and communities across America.”

Hillary Clinton supporters looked on, devastated on Tuesday night, as the end of the most memorable presidential race in American political history delivered them a stunning defeat. A day that began with the near unanimous expectation that Mrs Clinton was to become the first woman president of the United States, ended with a resounding victory for her rival. By the early hours of the morning John Podesta, Mrs Clinton's campaign chairman came onto the stage instead of the Democratic nominee to say that because the votes were not all counted, "it was not over yet".

By reviewing the activities of Presidential candidates Trump and Clinton a new phenomenon has appeared. While Trump continues to smash Clinton in attendance at events, Hillary appears to have decided to take weekends off. Clinton took the weekend of August 6th and 7th off and she decided to take three days off this past weekend August 12th through 14th.  She also has no events scheduled to participate in this coming Thursday through Saturday August 18th through 20th.
