Questions? ‘Tell a lie, tell it big and tell it often by Roger Wm. Hughes Tell a lie, tell it big, and tell it often – Herman Goebbels, Hitler’s propagandist Senator John Edwards and the Kerry campaign continue to use Sen. John Kerry’s Vietnam service as the gold standard for trusting Kerry to be Commander in Chief. This is because in time of war no other question is more important in the election for President in 2004. Edwards offers in a much-repeated ad in battleground states with the statement, "there is no one better prepared than Senator John Kerry...

"Hanoi John" June 15, 2004... "The critical issue is that the Vietnamese communists have chosen to honor Senator Kerry in their War Crimes Museum for his assistance in helping them achieve victory over the United States." -- Vietnam Veterans for the Truth."The Vietnamese communists clearly recognize John Kerry's contributions to their victory. This find can be compared to the discovery of a painting of Neville Chamberlain hanging in a place of honor in Hitler's Eagle's Nest in 1945." – Larry Epstein, Vietnam Veterans for the Truth, regarding photo of John Kerry in the Vietnamese Communists’ museum.

On March 13, 1969, Jim Rassmann, a U.S. Army Green Beret, was aboard PCF-35 - one of three swift boats traveling together on the Bai Hap River - when one, the PCF-3, struck a mine and immediately began to take incoming fire from the river bank. Kerry's boat at some point turned around and headed toward the damaged vessel when a second mine exploded nearby, throwing him against a bulkhead, causing an contusion to his right arm. The explosion also tossed Rassmann out of a third vessel, the PCF-35. With Rassmann in the water, it is alleged that enemy...

The events of February 28, 1969 that lead to Senator John F. Kerry being awarded the Silver Star is analyzed. Action by Lt.(jg) Kerry on the 28th of February can be broken into two distinct combat engagements, which I will refer to as events A and B.Event A consisted of a three swift boats whose mission was to insert some 70 VN Marines (Kerry tells of 70 VN's, while Zumwalt mentions 30 VN troops per boat in the first Silver Star citation) for the purpose of sweeping an area where small arms fire were encountered by the same three...

Navy Shows Off Next-Generation Vessel By Sgt. 1st Class Doug Sample, USAAmerican Forces Press Service Alexandria, Va., April 2, 2004 -- The huge vessel looks quite out of place among the small yachts and sailboats at a shallow pier. Neighborhood people on their morning jogs and dog walks looked amazingly at the HSV 2 Swift on its four-day port call here March 30. The HSV 2 Swift may one day become the Defense Department's transformation into the future. The Swift floats on two sleek, wave-piercing catamarans and can travel at speed of 42 knots or 85 plus kilometers...

HSV-X2 Swift flies at nearly 51 mph. Call her Swift. If only poor Ahab had commanded the HSV-X2 Swift instead of the Pequod, he might have turned Moby Dick into mincemeat. That much was obvious Friday afternoon when the Navy showed off the capabilities of the high-speed vessel that's serving as the command ship for the mine warfare fleet at Naval Station Ingleside. With the ability to travel at speeds up to nearly 50 knots, the Swift could have easily caught and overrun the fictional white whale. She could have even sped past him as she did to numerous skiffs,...

Four diesel engines drive four water jets that give the aluminum-hulled Swift a top speed of 53 mph. It was tied up at Naval Station Norfolk Tuesday after a demonstration. The future of the Navy is on its way to Naval Station Ingleside, according to U.S. Fleet Forces Command. The HSV-X2 Swift, a record-setting high-speed vessel leased by the Navy from Australian shipbuilder Bollinger/Incat USA, will make Ingleside its home port while it acts as an interim replacement for the command and control ship for the Navy's Mine Warfare fleet. However, the Swift will see little time at Ingleside, officials say, due to its experimental role in Navy operations that may offer a window to how the Navy will utilize ships in the future. Capt. Terry Miller, assistant chief of...

House reinstates $1.14B tax increase By Elisabeth J. Beardsley / Boston Herald Wednesday, July 24, 2002 House lawmakers overwhelmingly reinstated a $1.14 billion tax hike yesterday - less than 24 hours after acting Gov. Jane M. Swift nixed it. The ink was barely dry on Swift's veto before House members voted, 120-29, to restore the biggest tax hike in state history. The five-tax package now proceeds to the Senate, where President Thomas F. Birmingham, a gubernatorial candidate, has described it as a ``fait accompli.'' Previous votes have demonstrated a comfortable two-thirds margin for override, prompting Senate Republicans to throw in...

<p>''It's safe to say that the majority of our constituents, in poll after poll, suggested in a sense that we use a blended approach,'' said Senate Ways and Means Chairman Mark C. Montigny, a New Bedford Democrat. ''I'm not embarrassed that we took a very difficult challenge and did our best to send a balanced budget to the governor's desk.''</p>

<p>The movement toward O'Brien has occurred since Mitt Romney entered the race, presenting a stiff challenge to Democrats. Romney's elbowing out of Acting Governor Jane Swift has produced new energy for O'Brien among female Democratic activists who resented Romney's actions, party leaders say. At the same time, Romney's candidacy has forced the party to make a realistic assessment of the general election chances of its gubernatorial hopefuls.</p>

RAPID CITY - A project to reintroduce swift foxes on media mogul Ted Turner's Bad River Ranches has been delayed until fall. The Turner Endangered Species Fund had planned on releasing the foxes this spring on Turner's 138,000-acre buffalo ranch in Stanley and Jones counties. But the release has been delayed because there are not enough of the animals that swift foxes prey on, said Kevin Honness, field biologist for the project. The foxes prey on small mammals, insects, birds and rabbits. Turner Endangered Species Fund crews hope to trap about 30 swift foxes in Wyoming in August. Another five...
