As reported in B'Machana, the Israeli Defense Force has planted mines along the border with Syria. The preparations are being made in case residents of Syria use the Palestinian Authority's bid for statehood in September as an opportunity to storm the borders. Mines were laid across the perimeter fence, within the Israeli side of the border. Maj. Ariel Illouz of the engineering corps stated that the mines, combined with IDF troops, would prevent border crossing by masses of people.

I remember getting ready for school in the living room and watched in disbelief and horror as the second plane hit. That morning as I rode the bus to school the silence in the bus was eerie. Everyone knew what had happened but no one could talk. All the way to school no a word. We were all in shock. It is still as fresh in my memory as it was that cold September morning long ago. God bless and embrace my fellow Americans, my brothers and sisters that died that horrific morning of 2001.

The private sector cut 254,000 jobs in September, according to data in the ADP National Employment Report. The August figure was revised to 277,000 jobs lost, down from the initial estimate of 298,000. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg News had expected private employers to cut 200,000 jobs in September. ADP noted that the 254,000 private payroll cutback was the smallest since July 2008.
