The wife and father of Orlando gay club shooter Omar Mateen have been added to federal no-fly lists as investigators determine what role they played, if any, in Sunday's massacre, according to a report. Federal officials added Noor Salman, as well as her father-in-law Seddique Mateen, to the lists, ABC reports. A spokesman for the U.S. Government's Terrorist Screening Database, which monitors the no-fly lists, couldn't confirm that Salman and Seddique Mateen's names have been added.

Finally. It’s taken three days, we’ve been pounding the connections, and now media reports the FBI is in San Francisco to interview Ekbal Zahi. Zahi is the mother of Noor Sahi Salman, terrorist Omar Mateen’s wife. There are very similar circumstances between the events, travels and behaviors of Omar Matten, his wife Noor Salman and the San Bernardino terrorists Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik. The connections include similar travel (Saudi Arabia), social Islam / Mosque connected relationships, and sham marriages to gain U.S. entry for spouses who become ex-spouses after minimum time for residency retention. In essence, knowledge of -and...

What charges could wife face if she knew of Orlando plot? Federal prosecutors have convened a grand jury to investigate the wife of the Orlando nightclub shooter, seeking to charge her as an accessory to 49 counts of murder and 53 counts of attempted murder as well as with failure to notify law enforcement about the pending terrorist attack and lying to federal agents, a federal law enforcement source confirmed Tuesday to FoxNews.com. FBI agents have interviewed Omar Mateen's wife, Noor Salman, in the days since Sunday's massacre that killed 49 and wounded 53 more. A federal law enforcement source...

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, who is on a historic visit to the US, met American President Barack Obama at the White House in Washington on Friday, with talks focusing on reining in Iran and tackling trouble spots in the Middle East. Obama made the rare move of greeting King Salman at the doors of the White House, as he hailed the longstanding friendship between the two countries. This is King Salman’s first visit to the United States after assuming the throne in January this year. In his welcome comments, Obama said: “It is a great pleasure...

President Obama should think before bowing to Saudi Arabia's new king in his Tuesday visit. King Salman has a history of funding al-Qaida, and his son has been accused of knowing in advance about the 9/11 attacks. When it comes to jihadism, Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud is more of a hardliner than his older brother, King Abdullah, who died last week of a lung infection. As such, any commitment he makes to helping the U.S. destroy al-Qaida and Islamic State terrorists should be viewed with great suspicion. The 79-year-old Salman once ran a Saudi charity tied to al-Qaida and...

The King Is Dead, Long Live the KingPosted By Robert Spencer On January 23, 2015 @ 12:58 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 3 Comments Abdullah was dead: to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. Old Abdullah was as dead as a door-nail.So what now?The crown prince, Abdullah’s half-brother, Prince Salman, has taken over, but it might not be that easy. After all, it wasn’t too many years ago that people were speculating about what Egypt would be like under the rule of Hosni Mubarak’s son Gamal. And the accession of a 79-year-old to the throne does not...

More public outreach in Canada urged as European countries sound alarm on Syria recruitment. An alarming number of radicalized Canadians are joining foreign jihadi groups abroad, prompting calls for intervention as other Western nations boost efforts to stop their citizens from waging attacks at home or on foreign soil. CBC News has learned of as many as two dozen Calgarians who, in the last two years, departed for Syria to join extremist rebel groups. France intercepted four people suspected of trying to recruit militants to fight in Syria last week, following the arrest of a French citizen who joined a...

While much of last week's news was about the smoking gun that linked the White House to the false talking points about the attack in Benghazi, another email that would have shed light on how those talking points came about was nearly completely redacted by the government. The email has as its subject, "SBU/CLOSEHOLD: 0800 SVTS on Movie Protests/Violence." SBU stands for "Sensitive But Unclassified" and SVTS most likely refers to "Secure Video Teleconference System." Ironically, though labeled unclassified, nearly the entirety of the email was redacted before it was given to Judicial Watch. It was written by Eric Pelofsky,...

It’s all a grand charade — the matinee show put on by the Theater of Science was merely being used for the Grand Extravaganza called the Theater of Politics.Wikileaks, not surprisingly, turned up some not-so-diplomatic and not-so-scientific goings-on in the political race to steer power and dollars. From The Guardian The US diplomatic cables reveal how the US seeks dirt on nations opposed to its approach to tackling global warming; how financial and other aid is used by countries to gain political backing; how distrust, broken promises and creative accounting dog negotiations; and how the US mounted a secret global diplomatic...

Jon Stewart raised a lot of eyebrows over the weekend when the “Rally to Restore Sanity” showcased Yusef Islam, a.k.a. Cat Stevens. Islam has over the years said a lot of radical things including a number of comments where he essentially endorsed the infamous fatwa against Booker-Prize-Winning novelist Salman Rushdie. Islam has since tried to backpedal, but it’s hard to disguise his radicalism. (Snip) I spoke to Jon Stewart about Yusuf Islam’s appearance. He said he was sorry it upset me, but really, it was plain that he was fine with it. Depressing.

Internationally acclaimed writer Salman Rushdie seems to be getting better with age much like fine wine. The ladies seem to agree. His divorce from his fourth wife, the very sexy Padma Lakshmi got over not long ago. Then he was seen close to Scarlet Johansson as well as with B-Town's very own Riya Sen. The latest buzz is that he's in a relationship with the long-limbed strikingly beautiful Pia Glenn who's 29 years his junior. The 32-year-old, six-feet-tall beauty from Harlem plays Condoleezza Rice in Will Ferrell's Broadway show, 'You're Welcome, America: A Final Night With George W. Bush.' At...

Four failed marriages and a string of link-ups later, Salman Rushdie may have finally found his perfect match. The Booker-winning novelist is currently believed to be happy in the company of athlete-model Aimee Mullins, 28 years younger and at least two inches taller than him. The two were seen at a Manhattan party earlier this month, where guests said they looked more than just friends — as the two would have liked others to believe. “Aimee said, ‘We’re good friends, we are close friends’. They certainly looked like they were on a date. They arrived together, left together and were...

LONDON: Controversial India-born author Salman Rushdie has revealed that his wife Padma Lakshmi's decision to divorce him had a crippling effect on him. Speaking for the first time of his "emotionally violent" split last year from the Chennai-born model and actress who is 23 years his junior, 60-year-old Rushdie told Tatler magazine "it provoked a crippling bout of writer's block which threatened to end my literary career." MUMBAI: An Islamic group in India is asking Muslims to boycott products of a top Indian business group if its owner does not apologise for hosting author Salman Rushdie on a brief holiday this week. Rushdie stayed at the bungalow of the Godrej family while visiting Mumbai, where he was born and spent many of his early years. The author is a personal friend of the Godrejs, who are one of the big business families in India. The fact that Rushdie was invited by the Godrejs has angered the All-India Ulema Council - a national grouping of Muslim organisations -...

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - Pakistani lawmakers passed a government-backed resolution Monday demanding Britain withdraw the knighthood awarded to author Salman Rushdie, condemning the honour as an insult to the religious sentiments of Muslims. In the eastern city of Multan, hard-line Muslim students burned effigies of Queen Elizabeth II and Rushdie. About 100 students carrying banners condemning the author also chanted, "Kill him! Kill him!" On Saturday, Britain announced the knighthood for the author of "The Satanic Verses" in an honours list timed for the official celebration of the queen's 81st birthday. The resolution in the lower house of parliament on...

CALIPARI: A 'KIDNAPPERS' TRAP' KILLED HIM? (AGI) - Rome, 29 March - Could it have been a 'trap' of the journalist Giuliana Sgrena's kidnappers that killed the secret service man Nicola Calipari, who was in the car hit at a US checkpoint on 4 March last year, while travelling to Baghdad airport. This, according to Corriere della Sera this morning, is the version offered by a terrorist, Mustafa Mohammed Salman, currently imprisoned in Iraq, according to whom it was the Imam of the Sunnite mosque, the sheik Hussein (who Sgrena was supposed to meet with the day she was...

Opponents of the war say the only Al Qaeda elements in Iraq prior to the U.S. invasion were those in Kurdish areas not controlled by Saddam. This simply is not so, but for the sake of argument, let’s say it is. And if so, would not the U.S. – as a critical front in the global war on terror – have to invade those areas to shut down the Al Qaeda cells? Of course. And that in itself would have been a far more dangerous “limited war” with Iraq involving a direct ground confrontation with Saddam’s army anyway.

The man who is very likely the most famous novelist in the world made it clear last week that he has not changed his favorable opinion of two decades ago about the former Marxist-Leninist regime in Nicaragua. In an on-line response to a query from HUMAN EVENTS' John Gizzi, Salman Rushdie--best known for the $5 million bounty placed on his head by the Ayatollah Khomeni in 1989--wrote that "I haven't changed my mind about the Sandanistas of those days, the mid-1980's." From his London home, Rushdie went on to denounce the Reagan Administration's efforts to upend the regime of President...

When Sir Iqbal Sacranie, head of the Muslim Council of Britain, admitted that "our own children" had perpetrated the July 7 London bombings, it was the first time in my memory that a British Muslim had accepted his community's responsibility for outrages committed by its members. Instead of blaming U.S. foreign policy or "Islamophobia," Sacranie described the bombings as a "profound challenge" for the Muslim community. However, this is the same Sacranie who, in 1989, said that "Death is perhaps too easy" for the author of "The Satanic Verses." Tony Blair's decision to knight him and treat him as the...
