It has been hard to miss Matt Drudge's pro-Romney bias. He has done whatever he can to go after Newt and, to a lesser extent, Santorum. But pro-Obama? Really? Well, Andrew Breitbart made similar comments to me as are reported in this story...

The actual title is: Now Media Matters is tied to MoveOn, ACORN. See who is one of the biggest donors to anti-Fox News activist group It's too long to fit in the space for the title. One of the single largest donors to the embattled Media Matters for America is a controversial far-left clearinghouse that funds groups like MoveOn.org, ACORN and a litany of antiwar organizations, KleinOnline has learned. The organization in question, the Tides Foundation, is funded in part by billionaire George Soros, himself a prominent Media Matters donor. Tides functions as a money tunnel where major leftist donors...

There has been much speculation over who is financing the disparate protest, which has spread to cities across America and lasted nearly four weeks. One name that keeps coming up is investor George Soros, who in September debuted in the top 10 list of wealthiest Americans. Conservative critics contend the movement is a Trojan horse for a secret Soros agenda. Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising...

Anti-Wall Street protesters say the rich are getting richer while average Americans suffer, but the group that started it all may have benefited indirectly from the largesse of one of the world's richest men. There has been much speculation over who is financing the disparate protest, which has spread to cities across America and lasted nearly four weeks. One name that keeps coming up is investor George Soros, who in September debuted in the top 10 list of wealthiest Americans. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. But of course. You knew there had to be more. Can you say "George Soros"???? The Media Research Center's Dan Gainor, the MRC VP for Business and Culture, points out an interesting fact about Politico's Ken Vogel. We've posted here and here and here about the saga of the fake talk radio scandal. Pointing out that these stories are coming from Politico "reporter" Vogel who seems to have, as Jeff Poor over at The Daily Caller politely termed it, a "lefty" agenda.

Accuses 'the Donald' of engaging in 'malicious attacks on our president'A liberal activist group funded by philanthropist George Soros has reached out to some advertisers of Donald Trump's hit television show, "The Apprentice," claiming Trump is engaged in "malicious attacks on our president." On its Twitter feed yesterday, the Think Progress blog sent public messages to two companies that advertise on "The Apprentice" – Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Groupon.com. The blog asked each company, "Are you going to continue to sponsor The Apprentice and support Donald Trump + his malicious attacks on our president?" Think Progress is a project of the...

The idea, according to the invitation, was for Mitt Romney to “discuss his plans for the 2012 elections” at a “regional organizational meeting” of “the Romney Leadership Team” on Wednesday at the home of a major donor in Florida. (snip) Of course not! Why would you think that? (snip) So it goes in the Kabuki theater phase of campaign 2012 in which none of the leading candidates will admit they’re candidates, their donor pitches and stump speeches are couched – sometimes barely – in the conditional, credulity straining denials such as Fehrnstrom’s are part of the press secretary’s vernacular, and...

Last August, I wrote the following about Mitt Romney’s odds of winning the Republican nomination: In a sense, the stronger President Obama looks next year, the better Romney’s chances of being nominated. He needs the prospect of an uphill general-election battle to keep his potential rivals for establishment support safely on the sidelines. And then he needs that same establishment to rally around him once the primary voting starts — not out of love or admiration, but out of fear of the populist alternative. Six months later, this is almost exactly how things are playing out. In many ways, Romney...

I get asked all the time why people are so cynical about politics. Here’s a great example: Andrea Saul, who was Charlie Crist’s communications director. Here’s one of her attacks on Marco Rubio: “As the truth begins to surface about Speaker Rubio’s double billing of taxpayers, lavish spending of Republican money, and, just today, excessive pork spending, no ad will be able to stop voters from seeing he is not who he claims to be. A Miami lobbyist, Speaker Rubio has proved he is just another typical politician who uses his public office for personal gain and only comes clean...

Mitt Romney became, on Tuesday, the first of the potential 2012 GOP presidential contenders to call for the exit of Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak. Speaking on ABC's "Good Morning America," Romney said although President Obama should not publicly support Mubarak's removal, the time for it had come. "I don't know that I would say to the president, 'You should call for Mubarak's resignation,' " Romney said. "That, I think, flies in the face of a long history of friendship between he and our country and our friends, but it is very clear that [Mubarak] needs to move on and transition...

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is also a presumptive candidate for President in the 2012 election, which was a topic of conversation on The Tonight Show last night. Host Jay Leno opened the light, if not somewhat boring interview with questions about a potential White House bid, to which Romney replied, “If you ever see me sign up for a gig on Fox News, it’ll be a clear indication that I’ve decided to run for president,” adding “that’s not in the cards anytime soon, thanks.” It was a gentle yet pointed dig at the cable news channel who includes on...

Heavy spending for the 2008 national convention did not start until the summer and fall of 2007. By end of September 2006, the party had spent $35,500 on convention arrangements. That compares with the more than $636,000 spent to date. The total spent on preparations prior to July 2007 was $411,000. The arrangements committee is on pace to spend $2 million to $3 million by summer. "They're hamstringing the next presidential nominee," said an official familiar with past convention arrangements. He said money spent now cannot be replaced, potentially limiting the choices the next nominee will have in staging the...

Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty constitutional conservative activist web site. Those who cannot live with that should simply stay away!! (saves wear and tear on my zot button - bitterly clinging redneck, Jim) Romney is an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!! Those statments make me worry that FreeRepublic...

If nothing else, Glenn Beck probably has his top story set for tonight's show: "There is a really remarkable, rapid shift of power and influence from the United States to China," Mr. Soros said, likening the U.S.'s decline to that of the U.K. after the Second World War. Because global economic power is shifting, Mr. Soros said China needs to change its focus. "China has risen very rapidly by looking out for its own interests," he said. "They have now got to accept responsibility for world order and the interests of other people as well." Mr. Soros even went so...
