Ukrainian President Zelensky said on Sunday that it would be “impossible” for Kyiv to cede territory to Russia and reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire.
Speaking from the European Commission headquarters in Brussels ahead of his planned sit-down with President Donald Trump in the United States on Monday, Zelensky appeared set to maintain his maximalist position towards the war with Russia, and seemingly shoot down officially recognising Moscow’s territorial gains in exchange for a peace agreement.

Would be fine for him to be talking like that if his nation built all the weapons it uses and has a huge stockpile of them available to defend itself.
He’d better take whatever he can take now and end the war. Yes, it’s unfair to the Ukrainian people but that government has had like 30 years to prepare and build a military to defend itself.

The sane response is capitulation to Putin, and a redrawing of the national boundaries of Ukraine. In exchange, Russian Federation pays all costs of restoration of the civilian infrastructure destroyed in the conflict.
My understanding is that the Ukrainian constitution prohibits trading away land for any reason so he crook cannot accept the terms being offered, unless he surrenders
his country to Russia. Of course I get my information from more than just liberal sources, so the Conservatives have a different view.
In any event Ukraine is getting it’s butt kicked militarily.
Russia is losing lots of it’s young workforce and probably cannot deal with he inevitable guerilla war that will remain
for years,(happily funded by Europe) and control the vast lands Russia now is stuck with.
Chinese might want their land back and there nothing Russia could do about it. I learned about more than just US history.
This is all Asian/European war, we’d do best to stay out of it.
Maybe we should keep a closer eye on south America.
