A woman in the family is having a baby. And she surprised us by giving the baby a name soon after she knew she was pregnant. The name was one of those that could easily be converted to a male or female version as soon as the sex was known. At first, I thought it strange to be naming the baby so early, but on second thought, I said to myself: "What a lovely way to begin conversations between mother and child -- and build bonds early." As it turns out, six months later, she may actually change the...

The Cut recently ran a piece by Jen Gann, an outspoken, pro-choice mother who details her journey through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and genetic testing as she aims to conceive a healthy child. Her first pregnancy resulted in a son with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disease, and what she considers a missed opportunity to abort him. In 2017, Gann filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her doctors for inadequate genetic testing that she claims would have likely determined her son had cystic fibrosis and would have then provided her the option to abort him. I responded to her lawsuit two...

March 21, 2019 (Live Action News) — Rev. Rosaire Bisson is the assistant pastor at Christ Community Alliance Church in Barre, Vermont. He also gives devotions before the Vermont Senate as many local religious leaders have done. According to TrueNorthReports.com, Bisson spoke about "everyone's right to life" in January, just a week before the State House held a public hearing on Vermont's expansive abortion bill H.57 (which passed in the House and is now in the Senate). Because what he said was deemed to be controversial and political by several senators, Bisson was banned from giving devotions for a full...

Jan. 3, 2013 -- Sometimes she just tells him about her day. Other times, Ruthie W. rubs her pregnant belly and tells her future son that she can’t wait to meet him (which should be any day now). And a new study shows that he not only hears his mom, but may understand her and is already learning language from her. “I talk to him all the time, even when I am in stores shopping for a layette and other things we will need once he is born,” says the New York City-based cosmetic executive. “People probably think I am...

For truth, for justice, for Nicholas! Today, Lin Wood and Todd McMurtry filed their first lawsuit on behalf of Nicholas Sandmann against The Washington Post. The lawsuit filed is included below. The suit seeks $250 million in both compensatory and punitive damages. Lin and Todd will continue to bring wrongdoers before the court to seek damages in compensation for the harm so many have done to the Sandmann family. This is only the beginning.

The decline of an American institution heralded by smears and contempt. The poseurs really stepped in it this time. The “conservative” elitists at National Review may well have caused irreparable damage to their already tottering reputations, with their knee-jerk attack on a group of Kentucky high school kids in MAGA hats. Then they made things much worse with the barely concealed contempt in their shallow “apologies,” offered begrudgingly when the smear blew up in their faces. The pile-on assault of the Covington Catholic high school kids who attended the March for Life wearing Make America Great Again hats gave full witness...

On 18 January, 2019, during the March for Life in Washington, D.C., another much smaller event was also scheduled. It was the first Indigenous Peoples March. The video at the link shows there may have been a couple of hundred at the march, compared to many thousands at the 46th March for Life. Nathan Phillips, an Oklahoma elder and Native American activist, was drumming and chanting during the two events. He moved away from his group and approached a group of pro-life teenagers, some of who were wearing MAGA hats. The video can be seen below. Phillips gets right...

We went to the Life Chain today. About 55 people showed up. We spread ourselves around the Court Square. A welcome from the president of the county Right to Life chapter, then an hour of silent prayer. Some friendly honks from passing cars. No hostile comments or gestures. I hope it did some good.

Pro-life advocates are fuming over a new billboard along a Dallas highway that suggests black women should choose abortion because it’s “self-care.” What does it say? “Black women take care of their families by taking care of themselves,” the billboard states. “Abortion is self-care.” The billboard is sponsored by a Dallas-based group called The Afiya Center. The center’s website states it is “Transforming the Lives of Black Women & Girls.” Also according to its website, “Our mission is to serve Black women and girls by transforming their relationship with their sexual and reproductive health through addressing the consequences of reproduction...

Adopting a daughter has changed her life and opened her eyes to the beauty of adoption, one mother says. Finding out the baby was addicted to an opioid couldn’t dim that beauty, the mother said in an interview with The Daily Signal. “I can’t even tell you or measure the amount of joy that she has brought to us,” Lisa Alexander, who adopted 4-year-old Katharine with her husband Bruce, said in the phone interview Monday. “When I first saw Katharine, it was very, very similar to having a birth child, like your own child,” Alexander said. “I think [that’s] what...

The liberal mainstream media widely publicized the protests as being student organized. But, of course, this was complete rubbish. The well-planned events against the Second Amendment were organized and funded by outside groups – including the Democrat Party.

Journalists are racing to target President Trump and blame the Florida shooting on guns and the NRA. So, it might be a good time to look back. President Ronald Reagan wrote an essay in the spring of 1983. He was talking about exactly what was not on display in Parkland, Florida in the heart and soul of shooter Nikolas Cruz- the value of, and the respect for, human life. And in the aftermath of the school shooting that left seventeen dead? The nation’s media was also determined - one might say determined to the point of obsession to place blame. Let’s...

The majority of debate between pro-lifers and abortion advocates has centered around the 20-week abortion ban that failed in the Senate Monday. Another important bill, however, recently passed the U.S. House and would prevent babies who’ve been born after botched abortions from being murdered shortly thereafter. The U.S. House approved the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in January, and it requires health care practitioners to give the same care to a child born alive after a botched abortion as they would provide to any other child birthed at the same gestational age. They must also ensure that babies born after...

Today, we focus our attention on the love and protection each person, born and unborn, deserves regardless of disability, gender, appearance, or ethnicity. Much of the greatest suffering in our Nation’s history — and, indeed, our planet’s history — has been the result of disgracefully misguided attempts to dehumanize whole classes of people based on these immutable characteristics. We cannot let this shameful history repeat itself in new forms, and we must be particularly vigilant to safeguard the most vulnerable lives among us. This is why we observe National Sanctity of Human Life Day: to affirm the truth that...

The Supreme Court of Colorado will soon rule on whether a person has a constitutional right to not procreate. The dispute is between Drake Rooks and his ex-wife, Mandy Rooks. The couple were married in 2002. They had three children using in vitro fertilization, but were left with six frozen embryos. In 2014, they divorced. Now they are embroiled in a legal battle over what should become of those "snow babies." Mandy, 40, who reportedly always dreamed of having a large family, would like to use some or all of them to have more children. Drake, 50, says absolutely not....

In a previous article, I showed that Donald Trump’s first year as President has been marked by a series of exceptional economic achievements. Yet it isn’t only with respect to the economy that our 45th President deserves much gratitude from self-proclaimed patriots, traditional garden-variety Americans who’ve expressed abhorrence of the country’s lurch toward radical leftism. Trump has rescinded, through Executive Order, the obscene Obamacare contraceptive mandate, which forced private employers to provide contraceptive and abortion services through the health insurance plans they offered their employees. In his very first week in office, the President also eradicated $9 billion in foreign...

From the University of Tennessee-Knoxville comes word of a shocking video of a student arguing in favor of infanticide — killing babies up to two-years-old. The video was filmed by Students for Life of America on the campus of Tennessee’s flagship taxpayer-funded university. “The idea that someone could support infanticide is incredibly disturbing. Yet, it reflects the kinds of attitudes our staff members and students can face on a daily basis on high school and college campuses,” Students for Life of America president Kristan Hawkins said. Brenna Lewis, SLA’s Appalachian regional coordinator, recorded one of the encounters in early December...

As dozens of its clinics closed amid a dwindling U.S. abortion rate, Planned Parenthood has moved to diversify its business model by getting into transgender hormone therapy. The 2016-17 Planned Parenthood annual report showed the nation’s largest abortion provider struggling to keep its doors open as fewer women undergo abortions and patients seek health care services elsewhere. In response, “We’re expanding access to care — from pioneering research on self-injectable birth control to offering new services for our transgender patients,” Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said in the report’s introductory message. “Planned Parenthood has focused on expanding services to people...

Two months before his upset victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump made an unambiguous commitment that helped rally pro-life Americans to his cause. He promised to defund Planned Parenthood. Now, almost a year into his presidency -- during which time the Republican Party has controlled both houses of Congress -- he has not delivered on that promise. "I am committed to: Defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions, and re-allocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women," Trump wrote in a September 2016 letter to...

On the day when Christians commemorate the massacre of the ‘holy innocents’ by King Herod, Pope Francis prayed for “all the children who are not allowed to be born,” in reference to the millions of victims of abortion. In his daily posting on Twitter, the Pope also offered prayers for all the children “who cry with hunger,” or “who hold weapons in their hands instead of toys”: This is not the first time Pope Francis has likened the systematic slaughter of unborn children through abortion with the massacre wrought by King Herod some 2,000 years ago, in an effort to...
