In Oregon, a young woman has won a civil rights case against Walmart. A Walmart in Helena, Oregon refused to sell a rifle to young woman because she was not 21 years old. A 132-year-old rifle discovered on a remote rocky outcrop in the heart of the Grand Basin National Park in Nevada is still a mystery as researchers try to find more answers. The Winchester rifle, which was found unloaded in November, has been shipped to the Cody Firearms Museum in Wyoming where it is temporarily on display among 7,000 other guns. Museum workers said there are no records showing who owned the rifle and that its lifter was removed making it able to only fire a single shot at once, according to Fox News.

Visa rejected calls to cut ties with semi-automatic rifle manufacturers by announcing it is not their job to “[set] restrictions on the sale of lawful goods and services.” Their announcement comes after an anti-Second Amendment campaign resulted in over dozen companies cutting ties with the NRA. It also follows a New York Times’ suggestion that Visa and Mastercard could circumvent Congress and restrict “assault weapon” sales by refusing business with “assault weapon” manufacturers and/or dealers. According to CBS San Francisco, Visa received a petition with 150,000 signatures, asking the credit card company to refuse to process purchases of “assault weapons.”

According to law enforcement sources, the shooter, former student Nicolas de Jesus Cruz, is in custody. Helicopter footage shortly before 4 showed police frisking a handcuffed young man outside a squad car. During a November 6 press conference, officials credited an armed citizen with stopping the church massacre in Sutherland Springs, Texas. The citizen who stopped the Texas church attack is described as a man who grabbed his AR-15 before he grabbed his shoes. (My emphasis) Witness Johnnie Langendorff said the good guy with the gun–identified as Stephen Willeford–ran out of his house without any shoes, holding his rifle determined to end the attack on the church.

If you have an AR-type rifle with a standard flash suppressor on it, and you store it outside of a case as in a rack, and place a plastic dust cover over the flash suppressor, what happens if, in an emergent situation, you grab it, stick a mag in it, rack it and go "hunting", and (God forbid!) fire it, forgetting to remove the dust cap? Anything bad?
