The Saudi military member gunman who killed three U.S. sailors at Naval Air Station Pensacola posted disturbing messages on social media months before the attack, according to a law enforcement assessment. 'The countdown has started,' was the cryptic message posted by Saudi Air Force 2nd Lt. Mohammed Alshamrani on September 11, 2019, according to a Joint Intelligence Bulletin reported by ABC News. The 21-year-old Saudi national also defended jihad on social media and referred to non-Muslims as 'infidels', according to the report.

The Saudi Arabian national who killed three people at Pensacola Naval Air Station hosted a dinner party to view a sick sampling of mass shooting videos the night before his rampage, a report on Saturday said. Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani and three other Saudi students watched the videos, a US official told the Associated Press. One of those three students videotaped outside the building where Friday’s shooting unfolded, according to the official, who was not named.

UPDATE 11:50 a.m. The shooting suspect at NAS Pensacola was an aviation student from Saudi Arabia, the Associated Press is reporting. The AP is reporting that authorities are investigating if the shooting was terrorism-related.

Islamic State said the London Bridge attack on Friday was carried out by one of its fighters, the group’s Amaq news agency reported on Saturday. The group did not provide any evidence.
