Gov. John Kasich mocked Sen. Ted Cruz on Twitter after the results of Tuesday’s primary rendered Cruz’s ability to clinch 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention “mathematically impossible,” a turn of phrase Cruz himself used previously to call for Kasich to drop out of the race.

The Cruz campaign has gone on record supporting women getting abortions. The campaign says there should be no punishment for those women if abortion is illegal. Deadline Hollywood reports: Ted Cruz campaign chairman Chad Sweet...this afternoon told CNN’s Jake Tapper that Cruz believes in punishment for doctors who perform abortions, not the women who get them. Pro-life supporters are scratching their heads. If they succeed in getting a pro-life amendment, Ted Cruz appears to be saying that the amendment should contain some kind of non-culpability clause, so that Congress can write any law resulting from a Life Amendment in a...

I’m demanding that Michelle Fields charge me with hacking her computer. She won’t, of course, because I didn’t do it. She only charges people for brushing past her at a campaign event. Nothing serious like hacking. In December of 2015 Fields falsely accused me of hacking her computer and has continued to repeat the lie even after her bosses told her to cut it out. She had sent me a LinkedIn request and I called her. We had a friendly conversation before she tweeted out to the world that I had hacked her. Seriously. I texted her and said something...

I understand Trump is a candidate who has taken the election cycle by storm and I understand his allure. IIRC, I thought Ted Cruz was the favorite candidate here on Free Republic because of his conservative views. What has happened that Cruz is a figure of derision here? I understand Jeb! and Rubio and other mains stream Republicans being poo-poo'ed. Is Cruz getting slammed merely because he is running against Trump? Last night's thread was like stumbling into an alternate Freeperverse. Another question is: If you weren't supporting Trump, would you support Cruz?

Donald Trump on Wednesday leveled a bold accusation at one of his chief rivals for the Republican nomination: "Ted Cruz gave us Obamacare." "He's the one that got Justice Roberts onto the United States Supreme Court," Trump added. While Cruz vocally supported Roberts' nomination at the time, he was not yet a U.S. senator and therefore could not vote to confirm Roberts to the Supreme Court.

Twenty-four years ago, Donald Trump came upon a man being beaten by a thug. Being the brave man that he is, Trump knew he had to step in to save the day… He owns a plane and a helicopter, is the head of a multi-billion dollar empire, plans to take on illegal immigration all on his own, has taken on 16 other politicians and risen to the top of the GOP polls, and even has his own alter-ego of sorts — The Donald. At times, it seems like Donald Trump is a superhero.

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina may not be a liberal, but she certainly appears to be a fan of the liberal arts. The 2016 contender said Monday that her college degree in medieval history made her uniquely qualified to combat ISIS and other terrorist groups. “My degree in medieval history and philosophy has come in handy,” Fiorina said at a town hall in Windham, N.H., “because what ISIS wants to do is drive us back to the Middle Ages, literally.”

American Idol ratings hit a series low last week, dropping to a 1.4 in the desirable 18-49 demographic. Even when head to head competition with The Voice was no longer a threat (the rival show aired a special results show at 8 pm) the numbers stayed flat this week. Once the highly rated FOX show, Empire left the Wednesday night lineup, the show began to falter. The Wrap notes, however, that Idol is still ahead of the final season of the cancelled X Factor. Heading into this week the two regular editions of “Idol” were averaging a combined 2.9 rating...

Some armless, others hobbling on spindly prosthetic legs, Honduran migrants came to Mexico City this week to protest their plight. Maimed in Mexico when they tried to catch a precarious train to reach the United States, they feel forgotten, ignored and with little reason to live. “Our visa [to enter the U.S.] is our mutilation, our handicap, our lost arms and legs,” said Jose Luis Hernandez, 29, of Progreso, Honduras. He fell off the train, known here as La Bestia — the Beast — in the northern border state of Chihuahua; caught under its wheels, Hernandez’s leg, left arm and...

The Vice President announced his run for another term as Vice President in 2016. Slow Joe Biden stated that he wanted to get the jump on any other possible candidates and get a lock on the position by the end of 2014. Slow Joe stated that he was going to make the announcement last week but unexpected events prevented it. With the Secret Service falling apart, Slow Joe was put on standby to caddy and wash balls for Barack if the assigned Secret Service agent again failed to report to duty. There have been several instances recently where the designated...

A group of demonstrators representing over 40 different organizations gathered outside the White House to demand that Meriam Ibrahim, a Sudanese Christian woman sentenced to death for apostasy in Sudan, be freed. Dozens of protesters, including U.S. Congressman Trent Franks of Arizona and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, stood outside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on a warm overcast Thursday morning to demand the freeing of Ibrahim. In an interview with The Christian Post, Senator Cruz said that the effort to free Meriam Ibrahim was part of a grander need for the United States to address international religious liberty. "There are...

McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — A botched execution that used a new drug combination left an Oklahoma inmate writhing and clenching his teeth on the gurney Tuesday, leading prison officials to halt the proceedings before the inmate's eventual death from a heart attack. Clayton Lockett, 38, was declared unconscious 10 minutes after the first of the state's new three-drug lethal injection combination was administered. Three minutes later, though, he began breathing heavily, writhing, clenching his teeth and straining to lift his head off the pillow. The blinds were eventually lowered to prevent those in the viewing gallery from watching what was...

Obama also said he and new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had exchanged letters about the situation in Syria and that the Iranians understand the US concern about a potential nuclear-armed Iran "is a far larger issue" for the United States. SNIP "Well, nobody around the world takes seriously the idea that the rebels were the perpetrators of this," Obama said.

sheriff in Florida, Nicholas Finch, was charged for removing the arrest file of a suspect held on an unconstitutional gun charge. The 50-year-old sheriff was booked in his own jail on Tuesday with one count of official misconduct. He is accused of covering up the arrest of Floyd Eugene Parrish after releasing him from the Liberty County Jail. Parish was previously arrested for carrying a concealed firearm with no license. In Florida, this is a third-degree felony. Back on March 8th, Parrish was arrested and taken to jail after a traffic stop when a cop found a .25 automatic pistol...
