Six prison guards have been stabbed and left with broken bones after being attacked by 20 inmates in a recreational yard. The guards and two of the inmates were hospitalized following the incident.

A prisoner on San Quentin's death row died Sunday at an outside hospital, apparently from complications related to the COVID-19 coronavirus, the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Sunday. Former NFL All-Pro Dana Stubblefield has been convicted of raping a developmentally disabled woman. A jury in Santa Clara, California found Stubblefield guilty on Monday of rape by force, oral copulation by force and false imprisonment. The jury determined he used a gun in the act.
