Pictograph Photo Gallery A pictograph is a drawing or painting that is created on a rock. It is not "carved" into the rock - that would be a "petroglyph." This is a series of photographs of pictographs from around the world. There are many links to other galleries.

"Flipping through their yearbooks, female students at Wasatch High School in Utah noticed something amiss. While one girl wore a tank top on picture day, she appeared in a t-shirt in her photo. She wasn't the only one to have her picture edited: Necklines were raised, sleeves were added, and tattoos were covered. But what most peeves students about the secret alterations is that they weren't applied consistently. "There were plenty of girls that were wearing thicker tank tops and half of them got edited and half of them didn't," one student tells FOX 13."

Who doesn’t love Mars? Amid the bad news of a U.S. government shutdown now stretching towards Day 12, there are still several spacecraft from NASA and the European Space Agency taking pictures of that red dot in the sky. Here are some recent stunners from the Red Planet. Above is an infrared view of Noachis Terra as seen through the eyes of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera website (from the University of Arizona) released the picture on its website Oct. 2, with this description (in part): “When there are perfect conditions for...

    WAll Street Journal ^ | July 23, 2013 | Andrew Grossman
Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner jolted the New York City mayoral race on Tuesday, saying his habit of sending lewd pictures and messages to women he met online had continued well past his June 2011 resignation from Congress. "I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have," Mr. Weiner said at a news conference. "While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. Mr. Weiner said he is no longer engaged in such behavior. The revelation, prompted by...

It's a cold, cloudy day with plenty of snow on the ground. Not much good for gardening, but the kind of day when you want to put a stock pot on the back burner, and turn on the oven to bake bread, casseroles, and/or roasts. All to make you warm inside and out.LOL I have been reviewing some of the heirloom grains this week and need to narrow the list down to 2 or 3 that I will order. Teff and Quinoa are 2 that may make the cut. I will be planting some crimson clover this week or next...

“Everybody wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas, so why not get a real gun when you’re an adult?” If there was one place in America where you could expect to see photos of people posing with Santa Claus and their AK-47′s, it would be Scottsdale, Arizona, home of the country’s largest indoor gun range. This morning, Fox & Friends invited Scottsdale Gun Club general manager Ron Kennedy to defend the organization’s controversial practice of having members pose with Santa and their guns. Gretchen Carlson questioned the appropriateness of these types of images in Arizona in light of last...

  • I found a shocking old family picture

    08/22/2012 4:33:11 PM PDT · by MNDude · 82 replies
After my grandparents passed away, I've inherited thousands of old family slides and have been sorting through them and have been getting them converted to digital format. Many of the pictures, of course include those of my mother, and her younger sister (my aunt) "Liz". Aunt Liz is a prime and proper wealthy liberal elitist in her mid sixties and belongs to the well connected limousine liberal circles. One of her daughters joined the green peace and another became an environmental lawyer. In conversation, she is not shy to voice her opposition to what she considers "hateful homophobia" or racism...

Master of cuteness Mark Taylor's images are in demand all over the world for the purr-fect way they capture a softer side to our best-loved animals. His photographs are a legacy from his late mother Jane Burton who pioneered the style so familiar on calendars in offices and maths teacher classrooms everywhere. A US soldier has killed 16 Afghan civilians, including nine children, after entering their homes in Kandahar. Sky sources said the Afghan victims also included women and elderly men. Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs Asadullah Khalid, who is investigating the incident, said the soldier entered three homes, killing 11 people in the first one. The Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) coalition confirmed the incident but did not release the number of killed or injured. This Girl Snuck Into a Russian Military Rocket Factory Her name is Lana Sator and she snuck into one of NPO Energomash factories outside of Moscow. Her photos are amazing, like sets straight out of Star Wars or Alien. Now the Russian government is harassing her. It was easy to get in. She just went there, jumped over the fence and got right into the heart of the complex through a series of tunnels and pipes, which was very surprising. After all, this is an active industrial installation that belongs to one of the top manufacturers of liquid-fuel rockets in...

OK, he was 24...  and it happened in Switzerland. But it seems that this Mustang GT 5.0 owner -like many others- had a little bit of trouble getting used to the car's 6-speed stick and it's  troublesome reverse-gear 'safety' lockout feature: add to that a few hundred horsepower and no parking garage can contain her.A miracle nobody got hurt, with a car falling out of the sky in a Swiss town center like that- just a bruised young ego, totalled 'stang, and a whole bunch of mooshed-up bikes down dere.Chalk-up another one for hyperlegislative government and blood-sucking trail attorneys...
