Someone sent an email to me suggesting that if you blow up the photo of Obama sitting in the situation room during the OBL raid, it looks "Photoshopped". Sooooo, you know how much I love a good conspiracy.... Are there any 'puter experts out there who want to take a look and analyze it it? The perspective does look a little small. What says FReeper Nation?

Warning: Incredibly Graphic Here is an, as of yet, unconfirmed picture of the deceased Osama bin Laden. It is exactly how newspapers and our sources have described it: gruesome... I will give some space between the picture and words so that you do not accidentally see the picture if you do not want to. It is exactly how CNN reported the picture would look like: "Photos of OBLs body at a hanger after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive...

He declared war on the United States of America as early as 1996 and again in 1998. (source) His ideology is responsible for deaths all around the world, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. He is also responsible for over 3,000 American deaths. Almost all of these deaths were brutal, merciless and without dignity. We will always remember the demeaning and barbaric beheadings, we will remember the gross destruction of suicide bombers, we will remember the sheer barbarity of the four government contractors’ burned, dismembered corpses and how two of them were hung from a Euphrates River bridge.

“Who,” you’re probably asking yourself, “is that fine specimen of man peering out seductively from beneath that curly coif?” Well, dear reader, this young man happens to be none other than Democratic New York Congressman Anthony Weiner. Weiner posted his 1981 high school yearbook photo to Twitter, making it his default profile image. And, we’ve gotta say: That powder blue turtleneck is doing things to us

Explanation: What determines a star's color? Its temperature. Red stars are cool, with surface temperatures of around 3,000 kelvins (K), while blue stars are hotter and can have temperatures over 30,000 K. Our own lovely "yellow" Sun's temperature is a comforting 6,000 K. Differences in star colors are particularly easy to see in this intriguing composite view of the constellation Orion, made while experimenting with a star trail step-focus technique. In it, a series of 35 consecutive exposures were combined to produce trails of stars moving left to right through the frame, while changing focus in steps. Beginning and...

In the novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, described as "a classic commentary on narcissism, decadence, and the wages of sin," author Oscar Wilde wrote: Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself. An empty canvas was offered by Barack Obama in the prologue of his book, The Audacity of Hope, with his admission: "I serve as a blank screen on...
  • What Does CBS’s Controversial Obama Picture Mean?

On Wednesday, CBS published a doctored picture (dually attributed to itself and the Associated Press) showing Barack Obama as half black and half white, with a line clearly visible down the center of his face. And just in case that wasn’t controversial enough, the photo also pictures Democrats leaning over his “black” side while Republicans look over his “white” side. Via NewsBusters: The picture, naturally, is causing quite the stir. Creative Minority Report asks, “Are they saying that Obama will have to act white with Republicans?” and adds, “The idiocy of this is only heightened by the fact that Obama’s...

A day or so ago, I was surfing on one of the Bloggers or the Chat Forums, and someone posted a picture of a tall hottie in shorts and what looked like UGG boots pulling a trash can along. She was wearing green. I've looked through my computer's web history for the past several days, and can't locate it. Can anyone point me to the thread or picture? (I'm betting Laz will know.)

BOSTON – The heads of President Barack Obama's national debt commission are painting a gloomy picture as the nation struggles to get its spending under control. Republican Alan Simpson and Democrat Erskine Bowles told a meeting of the National Governors Association on Sunday that everything needs to be considered — including curtailing such popular tax breaks as the home mortgage deduction. They say that without radical changes, debt will destroy the country like a cancer.

LONDON, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- A London museum stripped its photographer of the year of his award Wednesday because judges now say he rented his subject from a wildlife park. The picture by Spanish photographer Jose Luis Rodriguez was one of more than 43,000 submitted to the Natural History Museum's annual competition, The Guardian reported. It shows an Iberian wolf leaping a fence in an apparent effort to get to farm animals. The museum removed the photograph from an exhibit of winners Wednesday, although it remains in books published by BBC wildlife. Rodriguez must return a 10,000-pound ($16,300) prize and...

    > Some recent findings seem to contradict claims that the glaciers are retreating rapidly. Some glaciers are even said to be advancing. > In the western Himalayas, some scientists have also reported findings that conflict with the long-held view that glaciers are retreating. The Indian government has issued a discussion paper based on these findings. It says: "Himalayan glaciers, although shrinking in volume and constantly showing a retreating front, have not in any way exhibited... an abnormal annual retreat, of the order that some glaciers in Alaska and Greenland are reported to have done. "It is premature to make a...

Like swarms of know-it-all gnats or plagues of lecturing locusts, progressive do-gooders just can't refrain from admonishing us... Another day, another scold from the Obama White House. First they tell us to wash our hands and show us how to sneeze, now they're going to teach us about "green-house gas emissions": When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons. The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act,” Dr. Chu...
