Federal authorities on Sunday arrested D.C. Council member Trayon White in the Navy Yard neighborhood. Mr. White, Ward 8 Democrat, was taken into custody around 2 p.m. near the Yards Park in Southeast, according to the Washington City Paper. The nature of the charges haven’t been revealed by either the FBI or the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Local NBC affiliate WRC-TV reported that the council member’s car was searched at the scene.
