The Student Experience Research Network sounds innocuous enough. The organization says it exists to "advance the research, relationships, and capacity necessary to build an education system in which every student experiences respect as a valued person and thinker." In reality, the group funds research with the goal of promoting DEI practices in education and partners with other left-wing organizations to promote "inclusive mathematics environments" and push universities to abandon standardized tests. Earlier this month, the Student Experience Research Network took a victory lap after the University of California system said it would toss out the SAT in its admissions process....

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) defended the National Republican Senatorial Committee amid calls that its performance under his leadership should be audited after Republicans failed to take the Senate majority in the midterm elections. Scott said he would be willing to sit down with anyone concerned about the NRSC's bookkeeping and spending and touted the financial reforms he already enacted on the Senate Republicans' campaign arm when he took over in 2021. He invited the Senate Leadership Fund PAC associated with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to do the same.... ....Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) were the two...

Where were the suits now pulling out of GOP donations when Democrats ignored due process in the 2018 Justice Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings? As The Federalist has continued to expose, corporate America has a double standard for its PAC donations based on arbitrary and partisan distinctions. Since virtue-signaling multinational corporations claim to be so intent on rescinding campaign contribution dollars to the GOP to retaliate against members of Congress who did not vote to certify the 2020 presidential election, this presents a reciprocal question. Where were the suits when Democrats ignored due process in the 2018 Justice Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings?...

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), one of the ten Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, is launching a political action committee (PAC) to challenge leadership in the GOP still aligned with the former president. Kinzinger, who was once part of the 2010 class of Tea Party Republicans, said the Capitol Hill riots on January 6 was the straw that broke the camel’s back for the direction of the Republican Party, dividing those who wanted to move towards autocracy and those who wanted to return to a path of traditional conservatism, the Washington Post reported. Kinzinger formally introduced his...

Left-wing activist Shaun(talcum X) King has become a vocal proponent for the Black Lives Matter movement, but a recent report calls into question where the money raised by his political action committee has gone. King founded the Real Justice PAC in 2017 with the goal of electing "reform-minded prosecutors" who are committed to fighting "structural racism" and defending communities from "abuse by state power," according to the PAC's website. The Washington Free Beacon reviewed the PAC's finances and found that over the past 15 months, a quarter of the money the Real Justice PAC brought in was funneled back to...

The call sounds like it is coming from President Donald Trump's 2020 re-election campaign. It even uses a recording of the President's voice: "I'm Donald Trump. Tonight I am asking you to defend our very dangerous southern border, out of love and devotion to our country." A deep-voiced narrator then comes on asking the listener to "be one of the hundreds thousands of patriots that helped President Trump finally build a the wall by making a one-time urgently needed donation to the campaign." Calls like this one, said to number more than 200,000, have helped raise more than $100,000 in...

The nine Democrats selected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to serve on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis received a combined $198,000 from fossil fuel industry political action committees in the 2018 election cycle. The majority of the donations went to Rep. Ben Ray Lujan (D-N.M.), who raised $117,000 from PACs connected to oil, gas, mining and electric utility corporations. Those donations constituted 6 percent of all contributions raised by Lujan. The rest of the appointees received scant funds from fossil fuel PACs. The data comes from the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit that classifies campaign donations...

A Texas man has been indicted in federal court on counts including mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering that stem from allegations that he raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for fraudulent political committees. Kyle Gerald Prall is accused of setting up political committees named "Feel Bern," "HC4President" and "Trump Victory" and soliciting donations he claimed would support the candidacies of Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Prall was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Austin. Prall allegedly raised more than $300,000 in contributions to "Feel Bern," more than $165,000 in contributions to "Trump Victory" and...

Even as Democrats publicly and loudly decry corporatist political “dark money,” billionaire Democrats and other donors funnel hundreds of millions to radical and violent causes. Barely a week had passed after Donald Trump’s historic upset in the November 8 presidential election, but some of the world’s richest individuals were already launching a counteroffensive. George Soros and his fellow deep-pocket funders of the Democratic Party and left-wing causes gathered with a lineup of party activists and luminaries from Hollywood, K Street, and Wall Street for a three-day “investment conference” (November 15-17) at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C....

In December 2016, a largely unnoticed report from The Citizen’s Audit revealed that David Brock’s Media Matter’s allegedly hid $1 million from the IRS spanning 2010 to 2014. Brock’s Media Matters owns a lease to the entire 6th floor of a building in Washington D.C. – also reported by The Citizen’s Audit – and subleases office space to thirteen other organizations. However, the city of Washington D.C. only recognizes one registered occupant on the 6th floor – Media Matters for America. If they all share the same floor space and pay rent to Brock, that's something to tell the IRS....

Political action committees that fundraised for President Barrack Obama during the 2012 presidential election, bused protesters to Republican town hall events nationwide earlier in February, according to a Sunday report from The Washington Post. Democrats nationwide continue to search for ways to oppose President Donald Trump after the 2016 election, and they are digging deep into funding from years ago. An unnamed pro-Obama super PAC organized protests at several town halls, going so far as busing protesters outside the member’s districts. Since super PACS were legalized in the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court decision, this marks the first time that...

Greedy PACs drained the movement with endless pleas for money to support “conservative” causes and candidates. I worked for one of them. But Tea Party ideas live on. As we watch the Republican Party tear itself to shreds over Donald Trump, perhaps it’s time to take note of another conservative political phenomenon that the GOP nominee has utterly eclipsed: the Tea Party. The Tea Party movement is pretty much dead now, but it didn’t die a natural death. It was murdered—and it was an inside job. In a half decade, the spontaneous uprising that shook official Washington degenerated into a...

A super-PAC backing Hillary Clinton has accepted $200,000 in donations from a company holding multiple contracts with the federal government — despite a ban on such contributions. According to a review of contributions by The Hill, Boston-based Suffolk Construction made two contributions of $100,000 to Priorities USA, which is backing the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. At the time it made the contributions, Suffolk held multiple contracts worth $976,560 with the Department of Defense for maintenance and construction projects at a Naval base in Newport, R.I., and the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., according to the government website USASpending.gov....

The Amish don’t read Donald Trump’s tweets and can’t watch his television appearances, and voting is practically against their religion. But that’s not stopping a group of Trump allies with ties to Ben Carson and Newt Gingrich from mounting a campaign to turn them out anyway. Amish PAC was started by an alum of a pro-Carson super PAC, an ex-Amish donor to that super PAC and an employee of Gingrich Productions. The group is planning to mount an old-fashioned, billboards-and-newspaper-ads effort this summer, designed to encourage Amish people in Pennsylvania and Ohio to turn out for Trump in November....
