Think Keith Olbermann has burned his last bridge in the television business? He doesn’t think so.Seven months after he got dismissed by Current TV, the temperamental host is aggressively job-shopping, and he’s not being too picky about it.In recent weeks, Olbermann has reached out to executives at a slew of different networks to communicate his desire for a new on-air role, according to people with knowledge of those conversations. Those include both cable outlets and at least one broadcast network. He has expressed interest in taking over as anchor of existing shows and in starting a new show. Indeed, several of...

The Army’s senior neuropsychologist also happens to be the long-time administrator of a Keith Olbermann fan site. When retired Lt. Col. Mike Russell isn’t working as the program manger of the Army’s brain testing program, now as a civilian, he’s busy online as the site administer of KeithOlbermann.org, which describes the former MSNBC and Current TV host as “The Last Reporter Standing.” A frequent contributor to the site’s Web forum, the main focus of the site, Russell has posted over-the-top political rants against Republicans, criticized the military’s psychiatrists and seemingly tried to recruit fellow online posters for positions on military...

The Labor Department paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal stimulus funds to a public relations firm to run more than 100 commercials touting the Obama administration’s “green training” job efforts on two popular MSNBC cable shows, records show. The commercials ran on MSNBC on shows hosted by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann in 2009, but the contract didn’t report any jobs created, according to records recently reviewed by The Washington Times. Spending reports under the federal Recovery Act show $495,000 paid to McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC, which the Labor Department hired to raise awareness...

The ousted Current TV host was not amused by Kimmel's jokes; compares him to Bill O'Reilly. Jimmy Kimmel's half-hour speech at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner Saturday evening had a few targets -- Kim Kardashian, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, Lindsay Lohan and Mitt Romney, to name a few -- but it seems not everyone can take a joke.

Unemployed, perennially confrontational talking head Keith Olbermann aimlessly wandered around Central Park South earlier this week, seemingly looking for a friend or a purpose. Our spies snapped unflattering pictures of Olbermann decked out in a giant red pullover and clownishly baggy jeans as he strolled 59th Street near Seventh Avenue, smelling the roses — or, in this case, the horse manure, allergens and aromas from a nearby food cart.

Keith Olbermann will be part of the roundtable on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos this Sunday. Joining Olbermann are George Will, Donna Brazile, Matt Dowd and Peggy Noonan. Olbermann recently chatted with David Letterman about his split with Current TV (and how he’s a fancy chandelier) — and

Roger Ailes: "You talk about burning bridges. This guy really burns ‘em. Now, I feel sorry for anybody who’s out of work, so I don’t want to trash him or say anything negative about him. He was great at sports, I thought. And everybody has some redeeming quality, so people find a job again. But it’ll be, you know. A pet show in St. Louis, or something."

Former Vice President Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, the heads of Current TV, have just fired their star anchorman, Keith Olbermann, who previously left MSNBC on bad terms. Gore and Hyatt released a statement saying that “the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers . . . are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.” According to Talking Points Memo, insiders say Olbermann missed almost half his working days in January and February and insisted on taking an unauthorized vacation day the day before Super Tuesday. Here is a statement...

...Sheeze, just because Barbra Streisand isn’t going to sing at our fund raiser next month doesn’t mean that none of the A-listers have to show up any more, does it? We had some real pros helping us produce this video: the GSA prize winning video production team, unexpectedly made available to us last week after being shut down due to a bad rap. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy previewing the preview. Participating in the Bunny Hop this year, in addition to our in-house cotton tails, are Joey and Dr. Jill, as well as another real familiar face (also unexpectedly...

POPCORN TIME: The fallout from Current TV’s firing of Countdown host Keith Olbermann was bound to get ugly, but one particular section of Olbermann’s lawsuit against Current is particularly unfortunate. In the suit, Olbermann trashes longtime booster Cenk Uygur, alleging that he opposed hiring The Young Turks‘ host, and then refused to promote TYT because “It Was Demonstrably Substandard.” The numbers, and even the former Countdown host’s own words, tell a different story.

Al Gore's Current TV is blasting back at fired host Keith Olbermann. ((snip)) "[H]e arrogantly and falsely calls 'cheap' the company that has paid him the highest compensation he had ever received in his career, provided him the largest staff of any program he had ever anchored, given him the largest studio and custom-designed set on which he had ever worked, and paid over $50,000 in an eight-month period to eight different limousine companies because none of the previous seven were able to meet his patrician standards for how to drive him around New York City," the papers say.

POPCORN TIME II: In response to an email from a Current employee about complications related to Michael Moore’s appearance on “Countdown,” Mr. Olbermann wrote to Joel Hyatt: “Give me a name so I know which of them to kill with my bare hands.” In response to learning that a photograph of “Countdown’s” original set was disclosed to the press by the set designer, Mr. Olbermann wrote to Mr. Hyatt of the person who leaked the picture: “Can you assassinate him please?” When asked by Current’s President David Bohrman about the purchase of a $5,300 desk for “Countdown,” which was not...

This is an interesting side to Keith Olbermann. The former Countdown host admitted that he "screwed up" when it came to his dismissal from Current TV while on The Late Show With David Letterman. "I screwed up really big on this. Let's just start there. I thought we could do this. It's my fault that it didn't succeed in the sense that I didn't think the whole thing through," he said. "I didn't say, 'You know, if you buy a $10 million chandelier, you should have a house to put it in. Just walking around with a $10 million chandelier...

Keith raised ‘stink’ E-mails bare ‘Diva’ chauffeur shuffleBy MARC BERMAN Liberal bloviator Keith Olbermann spent his last days at Current TV driving colleagues nuts with rants about “smelly’’ drivers who had the audacity to talk to him, according to startling e-mails obtained by The Post. “The problem is with him . . . the man who professes to be for the 99% doesn’t want any of the 99% talking to him or being near him,” an accounting executive complained in one of the missives. An assistant, who had just about maxed out her corporate card in a desperate attempt to...

S.E. Cupp is a pretty chipper person. I’m not sure if that assessment helps her or not. I don’t know her that well. We went to lunch once. I’ve done a bunch of GBTV shows with her. That’s it. So, I don’t pretend to be the last word on all things Cupp. But I can say that she seems to be in a relentlessly good mood. She zips around. She quips. She sings. Still, you always know that there is that side of S.E. Cupp that loves to go to the shooting range. Maybe that’s where she empties the dark...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: This is the first broadcast week in April. Let's go back a month. The month of March in the United States opened with the left convinced that they were finally going to drive me off the air once and for all. By the end of the month I'm still on the air with a higher audience, seven new advertisers to replace the five -- actually, less than five, that abandoned us and hurt themselves. And in that month Al Gore as fired Keith Olbermann, thrown him off the air and replaced him with Client No. 9. Eliot...

No, I'm kidding. April Fools. Keefie is still fired. Oh, haven't you heard? Keith Olbermann was fired AGAIN, this time by Current TV, Algore's little network that nobody watches. And Keef now is vowing to take Algore to court. And so I'm NOT kidding about the DUmmies being torn. I mean, Olbie vs. Algore? What's a progressive to do? Multiple threads on this at the DUmp, more people commenting than probably watched his show. We'll start with this THREAD, "Gored: Olbermann Out at Current," and take it from there. So let us keep Current with KO and his fans...
