Rick Perry will campaign with Newt Gingrich and attend the GOP debate in Arizona on Wednesday, according to reports. It will be the Texas governor’s first public appearance with Gingrich since he dropped out of the GOP race and endorsed him last month. Perry dropped his presidential bid in mid-January, endorsing Gingrich just days before the South Carolina primary. Gingrich won the vote in the state, but has since fallen behind the other GOP candidates in the polls and has failed to win any other nominating contests. Perry’s appearance with Gingrich in Arizona is his first major campaign event for...

First some unsolicited "advice" to Rick Santorum for tonights debate. Now that Rick is the front runner he will get a lot of "attention" in the debate tonight... this can help it or it can hurt him if he gets drawn into the "social" debate. We all know Rick's personal convictions on abortion. No doubt the "BABY KILLERS" will be after him and pull out all stops to attempt to destroy him. Rick, if you asked a question about abortion just answer with "I am pro-life and my record speaks for itself on that issue, but that is not the...

It’s as simple as simple can be — just a man, speaking against a blue background. But, in a cycle of 30-second ads, this one stands out for a different reason: It runs for 28 minutes and 59 seconds. It fits that it comes from Newt Gingrich, who has arguably been most stung by the work of skilled videographers at his rivals’ campaigns. While the Gingrich campaign has run its share of attack ads, too, those quick hits never seem to advance his cause in quite the way he’d like. He’s oscillated between a positive and negative approach to campaigning...

Newt 2012 announced that it will be purchasing 30 minute blocks of time in key cities between now and Super Tuesday to air a twenty-eight minute address by Newt Gingrich on the subject of lowering gasoline prices, creating jobs and achieving energy independence. “The answer to Governor Romney’s 30 second attack ads filled with garbage is a 30 minute address filled with substance,” says Gingrich Communications Director Joe DeSantis. “Newt’s message about lowering gasoline and other energy prices is resonating and the Obama administration is on defense over their policies hostile to American energy production, which are causing pain at...

GINGRICH: The President of the United States is patriotic in a worldview that involves the writing of Saul Alinsky, and involves a radical reinterpretation. Clearly, his czars were unconstitutional; clearly, his recess appointments, when there was no recess, is unconstitutional; clearly, the use of the U.S. attorney in North Dakota to selectively prosecute oil companies over eight migratory birds is unconstitutional. Again and again, this is a president who routinely only obeys those laws he personally deems fit. I think that his attack on the Catholic Church is unconstitutional. It's a violation of the First Amendment. Now, I think that's...

In an energetic appeal for support, Newt Gingrich stood before 4000 onlookers at the Oral Roberts University Mabee Center and proclaimed a message reminiscent of his 1994 “Contract with America” campaign. He progressed through issues including energy, healthcare, the economy, foreign policy, and declared Obama the “most dangerous president in modern American history.” While explaining his plan to rebuild the shattered economy, he announced that, if elected, he would abolish the “death tax.” Meaning, he would offer legislation repealing the estate tax. The logic is that heavily taxing estates, eviscerates family wealth and forces more people into the public welfare...

While plenty of Texans have put forward big bucks for presidential candidates and their Super PACs, smaller donations gave each of the four leading Republican candidates several hundred thousand dollars in January, according to the Federal Election Commission. The donations for individuals and PACs – the non-super ones – are capped at $5,000. And while they are drowned out by the donations such as Houston home builder Bob Perry’s million to Mitt Romney, they still play a part in the election. “Candidates still count the small donors,” said Texans for Public Justice Director Craig McDonald. “I think it’s a way...

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Newt Gingrich will not campaign in Michigan in advance of next Tuesday's primary there: Spokesman R.C. Hammond confirmed Monday night that the campaign is scrapping tentative plans to travel to Michigan at the end of the week ahead of the state’s Feb. 28 primary. Gingrich is spending Tuesday and Wednesday in the other Feb. 28 primary — Arizona — but that is mostly for the sake of Wednesday night’s debate, and his public schedule will be light.

Rick Santorum is well-poised to win the Washington GOP caucus, especially if he pulls off another primary win or two before all eyes turn to the Evergreen State March 3. According to a new survey by Public Policy Polling, Santorum shines in the Pacific Northwestern state: Wedged between the Michigan/Arizona primaries and Super Tuesday the Washington state GOP caucus hasn’t received a lot of attention. At least for now it looks like it could give Rick Santorum some momentum headed into the critical March 6th contests. He leads there with 38% to 27% for Mitt Romney, 15% for Ron Paul,...

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich will hold a town hall-style forum in Spokane on Thursday, Spokane County Republican Chairman Matthew Pederson confirmed. Details will be released later today, he said. Gingrich is the third GOP presidential hopeful to make a stop in the Inland Northwest. Rick Santorum spoke in Coeur d'Alene last week and Ron Paul held a rally at the Spokane Convention Center on Friday. Mitt Romney's son will visit Spokane Valley this afternoon. Gingrich, despite being from Georgia, has noteworthy ties to Inland Northwest politics that he may or may not dwell on in his visit....

OKLAHOMA CITY—A once-powerful Washington figure himself, Newt Gingrich says he'd shrink the role of the nation's capital if sent back as president. The Republican presidential candidate wrapped two days of Oklahoma campaigning Tuesday by addressing the state Legislature. He asked lawmakers for input on regulations to roll back and other steps to, in his words, "get the federal government out of your hair." The former House speaker says he'd focus most on regulations he thinks are hindering energy development and on giving states greater flexibility

The latest news on what Newt Gingrich is correctly calling a roller-coaster ride: Mitt Romney is now leading in Michigan, according to one poll.Real Clear Politics says Romney's leading Santorum by 2 points in a new Mitchell/Rosetta Stone poll. Sheldon Adelson plays as stubbornly in politics as he does in business. So the criticisms that he’s trying to personally buy the presidential election for Newt Gingrich are met with a roll of the eyes. “Those people are either jealous or professional critics,” Adelson tells me during his first interview since he and his wife began funneling $11 million, with another $10 million injection widely expected, into the former speaker’s super PAC, Winning Our Future. “They like to trash other people. It’s unfair that I’ve been treated unfair—but it doesn’t stop me. I might give $10 million or $100 million...

TULSA, Okla. - While discussing the threat of Iran today to a crowd of about 4,000 people at Oral Roberts University, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said that defeating Barack Obama was "in fact, a duty of national security." "Because the fact is, he is incapable of defending the United States," Gingrich said. Gingrich told the crowd, many of them young students, there was a real threat of an American city being wiped out. Gingrich said the Obama administration refuses to acknowledge radical Islamists. "All of you should be very deeply concerned about national security. Barack Obama is the most...
