If you think the H-1B visa program is about bringing in “the best and brightest,” think again. What we’ve actually imported is an army of cheap, unqualified labor that’s gutted our tech industry, sunk wages, and turned once-prestigious jobs into low-level coding sweatshops.
Economist Peter St. Onge breaks it down perfectly in this clip… what was sold to Americans as this “high-skilled program” is now a marathon race-to-the-bottom that’s costing us our jobs, our innovation, and our competitive edge. But here’s the good news: President Trump and JD Vance are putting an end to the H-1B “bait-and-switch.” They’re ripping out the coding sweatshops by the roots and taking the program back to what it was supposed to be – bringing in true experts when needed, not churning out boatloads of cheap labor to make corporations richer and Americans poorer.
And this isn’t just some theory. Many Americans have seen this disaster firsthand – deep in the trenches. A former manager who oversaw thousands of H-1B hires testified before Congress and laid it all out… this program has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with cheap labor.
Jack:
"There are many of us who have worked for H1B dependent companies and managed B1B2/ L1/ H1Bs. Myself, I have managed over 3000. As outlined in my congressional testimony I stated this is nothing but cheap labor. Out of 50 people(NO AMERICANS but me!) That I had in an average implementation, there was one competent H1B. The remaining had to work 10 hours on the client site and then 8 hours at night with co workers in India to get their work completed. They lived 8 to 10 in a 2 bedroom apartment. This was nothing but taking jobs from Americans and on the job training."
That doesn’t sound like “best and brightest,” does it? That sounds like exploitation of American workers and the cheap foreign labor.
But it’s not just tech. Revolver has been on this foreign worker story from every possible angle. Remember the $2.3 million Indian bridge disaster in India? Seven engineers, a decade of work, and the final product featured a literal 90-degree turn that made it totally unusable. That’s the so-called talent we’re importing, and companies want you to believe these folks are running circles around “lazy” Americans. It’s a total lie.
Revolver:
--- We’ve got a story for you—and it’s a cautionary tale about what happens when diversity quotas and outsourcing take priority over excellence and good old-fashioned common sense.
In India, seven engineers were just suspended after designing a $2.3 million bridge with a deadly 90-degree turn. This structural disaster has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. The project took over a decade to finish and was meant to improve transportation for 300,000 commuters. Instead, it became the “poster bridge” for what not to do when building public infrastructure.
No, this didn’t happen in the US, but it absolutely matters here. Because this is the kind of foreign labor we’re importing, and that should concern every single American. The engineers claim they had “no other option” due to space limitations near a metro station. But honestly, that excuse wouldn’t fly in a high school engineering class, let alone on a multi-million-dollar government project.
Americans are fighting back, using the crooked system to take down the H-1B scam from the inside. We covered that story, too.
Revolver:
For years now, corporate elites and their buddies in The Swamp have locked Americans out of good jobs by rigging the hiring system so cheap foreign labor can help line their pockets. They’ve built an underground pipeline that pretends to “recruit” US workers while actually funneling the positions to cheap H1-B workers. The whole scheme runs on secrecy, red tape, and the government’s flat-out refusal to enforce the law.
But now, The jig is up. Americans have had enough, and they’re fighting back. Thousands of American workers are now flooding these rigged job postings and exposing the bald-faced lie that there are “no qualified US workers.”
US workers are jamming up the PERM process, exposing the big con and forcing the truth about the rigged system out into the open. This is what it looks like when ordinary American workers finally fight back.
The truth is that American workers are world-class and worth every penny. You get what you pay for, and when you replace skilled Americans with low-cost, low-skill foreign labor, you get exactly what we’re getting now: basic, mid-level at best, and dangerous and incompetent at worst.
Here’s hoping Trump and Vance move fast to end this injustice against skilled, hardworking Americans. We’ll be watching.
Revolver is a top notch conservative publication, highly recommended
What about L-1s? Far more damaging?
I don’t know why, outside short-term profits, why the execs want cheap code up front and then spend another 80% of the initial cost repairing that code.
Steven Miller is gaining influence and it’s a great thing.
Number of Indian developers who had any real value out of thousands I've worked with?
I can count them on two hands (it was one hand until about two years ago - so up to six now).
H1-B needs to go. These incompetent people get into management positions and only hire other Indians.
Correct, it’s like the mafia. Once they get in, they only hire other Indians.
Because the exec’s are Harvard-indoctrinated MBAs who never heard the phrase,”you never have the time and resources to do it right the first time, but you always have the time and resources to do it right the second time”? Or maybe they’re like Bloomberg in the ego and mentation department who thought farming was as simple as putting some seeds in the ground?
Winning!
Shares of curry stocks hit the hardest.
My leftist brother has watched his IT-specialist son lose two corporate jobs to consultants offering the employer temporary H-1B labor and offshoring.
He’ll never be MAGA, but he’s waking up.
What?! No more weekly Windows updates?!?!
ripping out the coders doesn’t fix their code...
H1Bs are the sour e if a tremendous amount of chain migration . There should be none allowed.
What about the H-1B invaders that are already here? In many cases they already have their spouses here and have dropped an anchor baby or 2.
I’ve worked with the Indians for almost twenty years now. They are mediocre at best and have no sense of urgency and no business sense. The house could be burning down but if it’s their lunch time they’ll just cut out.
The difference is cultural. They are driven by the title on their business cards, and not by a love for the technology. I think maybe the US has almost all the nerds (myself among them).
H-1B, "unqualified labor that’s gutted our tech industry"
They are like cancer.. and keep spreading and growing.
I’ve been telling people its not just tech for years and years. I work for banks and I’d say a good 1/4 to 1/3rd of those big banking towers you see are H1B Indians. The banks cheat like crazy and try to throw something technical sounding into every job they can so they can get more of that sweet sweet cheap Indian H1b labor. Its sickening.
HOORAY President Trump!
