The city of Duluth is moving to delete the word “chief” from the titles of two of its administrative leadership positions in an effort to remove language that some Native Americans and others find offensive. On Monday, the City Council is scheduled to take up an amendment to the city charter to change the name of the city’s “chief administrative officer” to “city administrator.” The city’s “chief financial officer” would be renamed “finance director.”

George Floyd died Monday from a combination of preexisting health conditions exacerbated by being held down by Minneapolis officers, not from strangulation or asphyxiation, based on the medical examiner’s initial report. Preliminary findings from a Tuesday autopsy conducted by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner found “no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation,” according to the criminal complaint filed Friday against former officer Derek Michael Chauvin. “Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease,” said the complaint from the Hennepin County Attorney. “The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained...

Dear Valued Supporters and Guests: Though we would much prefer to gather with our guests and entertainers on Harriet Island in August, given the situation presented by the pandemic, we are compelled to join the ranks of other large-scale summer events and are cancelling the 2020 Irish Fair of Minnesota. We are doing so for the health and security of our friends and the greater community. Let’s all plan for next year’s Irish Fair, now scheduled for August 13-15, 2021. In the meantime, we are looking for opportunities to deliver Irish culture to the community via virtual events and smaller...

With Smithfield Foods' Sioux Falls pork plant closed by a COVID-19 outbreak, Minnesota hog farmer Greg Boerboom may face a grim choice. The South Dakota plant had been scheduled this week to slaughter about 1,400 of Boerboom's pigs. Smithfield directed 25% of that shipment to another Smithfield plant in Illinois — with Boerboom paying the extra $1,500 in freight costs. The remaining 850 hogs are in limbo. Boerboom is seeking a destination for them before they grow too big for market and thus face euthanization. Over 3,000 healthy pigs were put down in Minnesota this week, and 200,000 more could...

What most people would call voter fraud is actually legal in Minnesota elections. Voter Fraud in Minnesota, and one can presume elsewhere, is practiced almost entirely by Democrats, who have waged a relentless campaign to block any attempt to block ineligible voters from voting, or eligible voters from voting more than once as “voter suppression.” It’s actually technically incorrect to say that there is large voter fraud in Minnesota, because what you and I would consider voter fraud is in fact legal in Minnesota. The Democrats euphemistic phrase for voter fraud is “ineligible voting” but the manipulation of the voting...

The first case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Minnesota. Health officials confirmed the case Friday afternoon. Earlier in the day, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) had said the first 36 cases tested in the state had come back negative. Gov. Tim Walz and MDH Commissioner Jan Malcolm are scheduled to hold a press conference at 4 p.m. Friday to provide additional information. MDH said the presumptive case involves an older resident of Ramsey County who recently traveled on a cruise ship with a known COVID-19 case. The patient first started developing symptoms on Feb. 25 but first sought...

The Minnesota Department of Health is investigating one possible case of coronavirus. A spokesperson with MDH said the department is waiting for test results from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The department said the person had traveled abroad, however, did not specify where they had visited. According to MDH, the person has isolated themselves from others. If the test comes back positive, the department said the person will stay quarantined, the people he or she has been in contact with recently will be contacted, and they'll also be quarantined. MDH added there may be additional requirements....

Sounds like Rep Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) may be nearing the end of her political career if these accusations are accurate. In addition to recently being challenged by a Republican Muslim refugee for her seat in Congress, she's now being investigated by multiple Federal agencies, including the FBI & ICE. DailyWire.com reports: Investigators with multiple federal agencies are reportedly reviewing evidence of alleged crimes committed by far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that center around her marital history. The Blaze reported that toward the end of last year, “the Department of Justice had assigned an FBI Special Agent in Charge, or SAC,...

Family Fresh Market closed its doors at the Farmington, Minnesota, location for the final time Thursday afternoon. In November, the store's parent company announced it was pulling out of Farmington, a city south of the Twin Cities with a population of more than 21,000 people. It was the only grocery store in town. As the staple shuttered, community partners rushed to find ways to fill the gap to help thousands of vulnerable residents. "It's a public health crisis," said Farmington City Council member Joshua Hoyt. "We literally have residents who don't have immediate access to simple things like food and...

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) made an appearance on BET's new series "Young Gifted and Broke" to talk about the Democrats' plan to cancel all outstanding student loan debt. According to Omar, the system is stacked against immigrants and it's time for Wall Street to bail the American people out of debt. "My family, we didn't really recover. We went through the private loan system. I didn't really know anything about it. That's my fault. People talk about financial literacy but they also prey on people like me," fellow panelist and author Michael Arceneux said. "That's an important piece because a...

For PA leaders, individual Palestinians are invisible; they exist only as tiny pieces of the large nationalist agenda. American leaders visited Israel this week, following up on the US-sponsored Bahrain economic workshop. The goal of America’s continued expenditure of diplomatic time and energy has been to create financial backers to invest $27 billion-$50b. in the floundering Palestinian economy. While many were surprised when the Palestinian Authority condemned, boycotted, and even arrested Palestinians who participated in the event intended to jump-start the economy and benefit thousands of individual Palestinians, the rejection was consistent with ongoing PA strategy. For PA leaders, individual...

Anti-Semitic Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who blames the current crisis in Venezuela on the United States, wants a "Green New Deal" style overhaul of U.S. foreign policy. Omar argues she is best suited to lead the charge for major foreign policy changes because she has "the perspective of a foreigner." From the Star Tribune : The Somali-born Minnesota Democrat, saying she brings “the perspective of a foreigner” to her new role, believes that American foreign policy needs to be changed in fundamental ways. “When I think about foreign policy, we need something equivalent to the Green New Deal,” Omar...
