An argument over face masks turned physical on an Allegiant Airlines flight from Mesa, Ariz., to Provo, Utah, on Saturday. A passenger on the flight was wearing a face shield and a flight attendant asked him to wear a face mask as well, KSL TV reported. Allegiant’s policy is that face shields must be worn in addition to a face covering, not as an alternative. When the flight attendant and passenger were arguing about the policy, another passenger heckled the man, KSL reported. As the flight attendant was attempting to escort the passenger who refused to wear a face mask...

On The Ingraham Angle Wednesday, Fox News host Laura Ingraham blasted the media for blaming President Trump for the bizarre case of a man who died from ingesting fish tank cleaner in March, supposedly thinking it was Hydroxychloroquine. But Ingraham highlighted a recent report in the Washington Free Beacon which found there may be more to this story than initially reported, even as the local police open an investigation. After playing clips of CNN and MSNBC journalists eagerly blaming Trump for Gary Lenius, of Mesa, Arizona’s death, she sighed, saying, "That is just despicable.” Ingraham then brought on Free Beacon...

Mysterious lights hovering above the east Valley have many wondering if we've had a close encounter. The couple says they spotted the phenomenon outside their Mesa home on Sunday around nine that night. They say the object seemed to come from the southeast. The object captured on two cell phones looks like a bright orb hovering silently in the sky. Every few moments, the object appears to drop what looks to be flares towards the ground. ABC15 reached out to several aviation experts who theorized the lights seen Sunday could be from parachute flares used by the military or even...

That’s probably not how you’re supposed to refuel planes. A fuel truck struck and damaged two aircraft at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Monday morning, prompting an investigation into the cause of the incident. The truck, believed to be operating for Allied Aviation, was filmed first colliding with the wing of one American Eagle jet, and then crashing into the wing of a second American Eagle jet, before coming to an abrupt stop.

An unarmed man who was beaten by Arizona police officers last month said Thursday that he wants changes in the Mesa Police Department so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else. "I am a family man and a God-fearing person," Robert Johnson, 33, said at a news conference at a Mesa church, occasionally becoming emotional. "I want Mesa to be held accountable for what, what they have done." A police officer claimed in an arrest report that Johnson refused a request to sit down and looked ready to fight. That's why the officer tried to detain him, the report said,...

A newly-released video shows an Arizona police officer shooting and killing an unarmed man in January 2016 after the man, who was crying and begging for his life, made a mistake in complying with his orders. The body camera footage was released on Friday by the judge presiding over Officer Philip Brailsford's trial after Brailsford was acquitted on Thursday for the killing. The victim, 26-year-old pest control worker Daniel Shaver, was staying in the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Mesa, Arizona while on a business trip when police received a call that someone was pointing a gun out of...

The Shaver case is well beyond politics. There is nothing conservative, liberal or constitutional about an agent of the state killing an American without just cause. It is deeply wrong regardless of party or ideology. Bernie Sanders voters and the most ardent Trump supporters all should be united in outrage over the death of Daniel Shaver. Maricopa County District Attorney Bill Montgomery got it right by charging Brailsford with second degree murder. The jury got it very wrong. Shaver should be alive, and his death must be taken as a call to action. Police departments should establish that a suspect...

An Arizona public school district says one of its teachers broke school policy when she reportedly had her class recite an altered version of the Declaration of Independence. A 4th-grade teacher at Salk Elementary School in Mesa altered a poster of the historical document by crossing out two instances of the word “men” in the second and third sentences and substituting it with “humans,” a local ABC affiliate reported. She then had students recite the altered version in class, the station said.

After four years, Phoenix has cut ties with a law firm that lobbied on the city’s behalf at the state Legislature. The politics involving former Gov. Jan Brewer played a role in the votes of at least two councilmembers. Many roll-call votes at Phoenix City Council meetings are straightforward, but when they involve contracts with consultants and lobbyists, the roll call typically slows as Councilmen Jim Waring and Sal DiCiccio voice their ongoing opposition to such deals. That’s what happened on Dec. 14.

But the billionaire businessman said the majority of the GOP hopefuls were "nice to him," saying he was prepared for all 14 Republican candidates to lob attacks at him. "Ted Cruz was very nice to me, and I was nice to him. Most of the people were nice to me last night." Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday continued to bash CNN's debate coverage and GOP rival former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush a day after the network's Tuesday night debate. The real estate mogul appeared at his first campaign rally in Mesa, Ariz., since the last GOP debate of...
