Menswear retailer Tailored Brands Inc. TLRD, -21.23%, the parent company of Men's Wearhouse and Jos. A. Banks, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sunday, the Wall Street Journal reported. The clothier has been hit hard by pandemic-related store shutdowns, reporting last month that first-quarter sales were down 60%. Since July 1, Tailored Brands has missed missed interest payments on bonds, slashed its corporate workforce by 20%, announced plans to close up to 500 stores and was notified that it will be delisted by the New York Stock Exchange. The company operated more than 1,400 stores in the U.S. and Canada as of Feb. 1, and employed more than 1,900 people. Earlier...

I guarantee it, shit has hit the fan! The parent company of Men’s Warehouse announced a round of layoffs and hundreds of looming store closures Tuesday, as its business suffers a blow from the coronavirus pandemic. Tailored Brands said it is eliminating roughly 20% of its corporate workforce by the end of its fiscal second quarter. It also said it has selected up to 500 of its stores that it could potentially close “over time.” It did not disclose a list of those exact locations. It also announced that its current CFO, Jack Calandra, will depart the company on July...

After retailer Men's Wearhouse [NYSE: MW] announced that it "terminated" founder and executive chairman George Zimmer, best known to consumers for his hundreds of TV commercials pitching suits, he fired back saying the company's board "has inappropriately chosen to silence my concerns."

Men's Wearhouse executive chairman George Zimmer has been "terminated," the clothing retailer said on Wednesday. Zimmer opened the company's first store in Houston in 1973. He's been the bearded face of Men's Wearhouse (MW) in television ads for years, famously promising men "You're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it."
  • Men’s Wearhouse Customer Returns Suit for Supporting Occupy Wall St.

A friend of mine decided to let the Men’s Wearhouse know how he feels about their support of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement. He returned a bag full of suits that he had purchased from them and captured the entire episode on video (see below). As you can see from the photograph, the Men’s Wearhouse in Oakland, California decided to place a sign in their window showing their support for the OWS movement. According to an article by Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air.com, Men’s Wearhouse founder George Zimmer is financial supporter of President Obama and the socialist Democratic...

Check out the Facebook page for Men's Wearhouse, whose Oakland store closed for one day out of support for the Occupy Movement. From what I understand, the store was not looted but they may well have lost a lot of customers. Who shops at MW anyway, hippies or hard working capitalists? Join the fun.
  • Picture of the Day: Men's Wearhouse Stands With Occupy Wall Street ( Oakland )

Occupy Oakland has called for a city-wide strike and rally on Wednesday to protest income inequality, and several businesses, including Men's Wearhouse and the Grand Lake movie theater, have closed their doors in support... The store's decision will likely meet with approval from the corporate HQ: George Zimmer, founder and chairman of Men's Wearhouse, has repeatedly donated to Democratic candidates in multiple election cycles, including progressives like 2004 presidential candidate Howard Dean and Rep. Barbara Lee (Calif.).

Mind you, this is a guy who beat Hannity — a show that airs in primetime — in both total viewers and the demo last Friday at 5 p.m. Every last one of these advertisers is simply biding their time, wondering how long they have to wait until nutroots wrath is appeased and they can start advertising on Beck’s show again. I give it six months. Less if Greta gets dumped and GB ends up moved to 10 p.m. Twenty companies have pulled their ads from Beck’s show in just the last two weeks. The moves come after the Fox...

Glenn Beck fans are fighting back against a campaign led by a black activist organization prompting major advertisers to withdraw from Beck's top-rated Fox News Channel program.

Now a husband and wife team of Beck fans has launched a website – DefendGlenn.com – that lists the contact information for advertisers for Beck's and other Fox News programs and provides users with information and suggestions to contact those companies to urge their continued sponsorship. The site also asks users to contact Beck's current patrons to thank them for their loyalty to the Fox News star's program.
