The recently published LSV Bible from Covenant Press has charted a fundamentally different course than the 20th and 21st century Critical Text translations. The new Literal Standard Version is based on the Textus Receptus, in line with the earlier Geneva Bible and King James. Despite a push by 20th and 21st century progressive translators to paraphrase and de-genderize the Bible, one team is seeking to do just the opposite: translate the Bible as literally as possible, not just "essentially literal" like the recent English Standard Version, but truly word-for-word wherever possible.
