A Wyandanch man fatally shot a 20-year-old man who tried to enter his home through a window early yesterday, police said. Tyrell Rudolph, of Wyandanch, was discovered in front of a home on Parkway Boulevard with gunshot wounds to his chest and left arm at 3:05 a.m. The alleged shooter, Sanjay Broomfield, 22, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony. Broomfield, a baker at Entenmann's in Bay Shore, told police he fell asleep Friday night, after working a double-shift, said Det. Sgt. Vincent Posillico, of the county's homicide squad. NEW YORK -- Penn Station was partially evacuated and some train service halted Tuesday afternoon after authorities received a report of a "suspicious" man with a package aboard an Amtrak train from Washington, an Amtrak spokesman said. The train came into the station at 12:18 p.m. on its way to Boston, said spokesman Dan Stessel. Last night I watched the TV program Minute by Minute. The show features an event and the actions of the people involved, literally minute by minute. This episode detailed the Long Island Rail Road shooting on December 7, 1993 by Colin Ferguson. Thirty shots were fired in the course of three minutes. Twentyfive people were shot and six of those people died. Ferguson is now serving six consecutive life sentences for the crime.
