A video that has been circulating across social media purportedly showing the killing of a Scandinavian university student in a remote part of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains is likely authentic, Norwegian police said Friday. A Bangladeshi refugee, who raped a 16-year-old high-school girl in France, has been acquitted by the court due to “different cultural norms,” according to reports. Facebook has come under fire for a "barbaric use of technology" that allowed the sale of a child bride to be held on its site. An auction was held on the social media platform for a 16-year-old girl in South Sudan which sought payment for her hand in marriage. Figures from the French interior ministry show that at a national level, complaints of homophobic attacks have increased by 15 per cent since the beginning of 2018. Police in the Netherlands have arrested seven men over an alleged plot to carry out what they describe as a major terrorist attack involving guns and explosives.
