Why it matters: It's an effort to bypass House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) as he refuses to put the Senate's bipartisan foreign aid bill on the House floor for a vote.

Since Nancy Pelosi has set the precedent that it is acceptable to tear up the SOTU address, I hope that Speaker Johnson does the same.I don’t remember any democrats saying that Pelosi’s insulting and disrespectful actions were inappropriate, so I am sure the democrats will be ok with Johnson doing the same. Pelosi set the precendent, I just hope that Johnson follows her lead and gives Biden the same respect the democrats gave President Trump!
