Speaker Johnson endorses bipartisan tax bill as 'conservative,' 'pro-growth' reform

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is coming out in support of a bipartisan tax deal scheduled for a vote later on Wednesday.

"The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act is important bipartisan legislation to revive conservative pro-growth tax reform," Johnson said in a statement. "Crucially, the bill also ends a wasteful COVID-era program, saving taxpayers tens of billions of dollars."

"Chairman Smith deserves great credit for bringing this bipartisan bill through committee with a strong vote of confidence, and for marking up related bills under regular order earlier in this Congress. This bottom-up process is a good example of how Congress is supposed to make law."

* Bipartisan
* Tax bill
* Conservative
* Pro-growth
* Reform

Lies, lies, and more lies all heaped upon a stinking hill of previous lies.

The GD Government has been “reformed” more times than Gumby (for you oldsters like me). What has all that “reform” gotten us? Nothing but the on-going need to more and more “reform.”

The whole institution is fetid, unmanageable, and corrupt to the core.

Please remember to ask me how I feel when I’m having a bad day.

Time for him to go. I gave excuses for him, but I cannot do that anymore.

Mike Johnson, you destroyed the U.S. & the world, so much for your claim of being a Christian.

Look...we have a two party system...and that's the way it is.

Sooner or later, an agreement must be reached. Not everyone will be happy ON EITHER SIDE, but that's reality.

Sorry...Mike Johnson is the good guy. It's a compromise bill which must be passed.

Run for Congress...

"This bottom-up process is a good example of how Congress is supposed to make law."

That's ridiculous. We learned today that AI is making all new laws:

Congress confronts security risks as it seeks to expand Hill’s AI use

Whenever the Swamp promotes something as “bipartisan” it means they are screwing everyone and hiding behind the unipary “bipartisan” label to avoid responsibility for their actions.

Yup. Best that can be hoped for with a pathetic 3-seat House majority.

Johnson is not the problem, the RNC is.

Steve Bannon said 2 weeks ago, Speaker Johnson had to go. he didn’t want to hear any more ‘Christian’.. just go. He said Johnson had no drive to stand against the dems.

Wrong, it doesn't need to be passed, the government needs to be shut down. This only hurts this nation further because Mike Johnson is a weakling who apparently can't see that this only exacerbated the problems of this nation even further, and guarantees that the dollar is replaced as the world's reserve currency. Because it is becoming more & more worthless from the out-of-controlled spending that they refuse to tackle at all. They are too busty going home to do their job, at least the vast majority of them.

This is always the excuse, for not doing their job, which just keeps adding to the problem making it worse & worse. Just watch, the same thing will happen in March.

All this means is that the rich and the corporations and the govt workers will again pay less tax while the tax burden continues to kill the middle class.

BS...Compromising with the Communist left is a deceptive spin. That is exactly how we got to where we are. Compromise is like the "Better of two evils" where we're left with nothing but evil..
