(CNSNews.com) - Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that the Second Amendment provides individuals the right to bear arms was a "landmark victory" and that his Democratic rival is on the wrong side of the debate. "Unlike Senator Obama, who refused to join me in signing a bipartisan amicus brief, I was pleased to express my support and call for the ruling issued today," McCain said in a statement issued by his campaign following Thursday's 5-4 ruling. "Today's ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller makes clear that other municipalities like Chicago that have banned handguns...

In response to mounting media questions about the failure of the Barack Obama presidential campaign to produce the presumptive Democratic nominee's birth certificate, an official spokesman of the campaign has endorsed as genuine the image of a document purporting to be his "birth certificate." But some who have examined that image in high resolution claim inconsistencies and irregularities which suggest that the purported document is a forgery. Its high profile use by the campaign, they claim, suggests an attempt to conceal the truth of Obama's birth circumstances and citizenship qualifications from the American people. The campaign has posted only a...

One of the most dramatic changes in American life in the years since World War II involves the way we raise our children. We used to do it ourselves. Now, convinced we have better things to do, many of us leave the job to others. Encouraging this flight from parenthood, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has proposed what he calls his "Zero to Five" plan. It is a collection of programs aimed at getting the government involved in the raising of your children from the moment they are born. "The first part of my plan...

The Supreme Court is not on the ballot in November. But it may as well be. On any number of critical issues, the inclinations of Republican Sen. John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama on the appointments of Supreme Court justices could turn a divided high court in one direction or another over the coming years.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- In an idea that is more symbolism over substance, a leading Democratic Party activist says he's going to talk to Obama about adding language to the Democratic Party platform calling for the "reduction" of abortions. Yet the proposal wouldn't call for any actual bills or efforts to limit abortions. The proposed language includes no mention of the kinds of initiatives Obama has opposed -- limiting taxpayer funding of abortions, allowing parental involvement, or banning late-term abortions.

McCain has got an 80 - 55 % advantage over Obama regarding his ability to be Commander in Chief. Hmmm. Interesting.

It is now a certainty that the "birth certificate" claimed by the Barack Obama campaign as authentic is a photoshopped fake. The image, purporting to come from the Hawaii Department of Health, has been the subject of intense skepticism in the blogosphere in the past two weeks. But now the senior spokesman of that Department has confirmed to Israel Insider what are the required features of a certified birth document -- features that Obama's purported "birth certificate" clearly lack. The image became increasingly suspect with Israel Insider's revelation that variations of the certificate image were posted on the Photobucket image...

Last Friday, Newsweek released a poll that had Sen. Barack Obama up 15 points over Sen. John McCain. Today, the LA Times along with Bloomberg released their poll showing Obama up, you guessed it, 15 points over the presumptive Republican nominee. The LA Times/Bloomberg polling data shows in a four-way race that Obama is over McCain 48 percent to 33 percent with independent candidates Bob Barr and Ralph Nader holding a combination of 7 percentage points and the rest are undecided. In a two-way race, Obama's lead narrows only slightly to 12 percentage points. University of Virginia political science professor...

This is an interesting article as not much was known about her. She was on Leno the other night and it was an interesting interview. It turns out that she is a character as she is or has been a race car driver and is also a pilot. She flies John around the country to his rallies. After hearing that about her and reading this I now have a lot of respect for her. Election 2008 : Cindy Hensley McCain has been disparaged as a trophy wife, a Barbie, an heiress with fancy purses, even the Paris Hilton of politics....

The evidence suggests the answer is yes. Regardless if they are secret or not, the bigger problem is that McCain just won’t let go of his Pro-Amnesty agenda:

"Barack Obama told a group of Florida donors Friday night that Republicans will try to make voters afraid of him, and suggested they would use his race to scare up votes for John McCain," Fox News reports. "We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid," Obama said at the fundraiser. "They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black? He's got a feisty wife." [Snip] This is a very clever bit of rhetoric....

There's a reason Republican Sen. John McCain, President Bush and even Republican Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida all abruptly endorsed plans to expand offshore drilling last week - and it's not just $4-a-gallon gasoline. In an election year when Republicans are bracing to lose seats in Congress and major issues from Iraq to the economy appear to favor the Democrats, the GOP is betting that an aggressive push to drill for new domestic energy will be their ticket to success in November."Energy is actually a huge opportunity for Republicans," said Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., who chairs the Senate Republicans' re-election...

When Losing IsnÂ’t Affordable November and The War on IslamofascismBy Rene Guerra Unambiguous success in Iraq and unequivocal victory in the rest of the global war on Islamofascism is not a choice; we don’t have any other alternative, for it is a matter of our very survival. It is not a matter of “prestige†or any other hubristic notion; it is about our own hide, particularly when America faces the grim prospect of Barack Hussein Obama becoming the next president of the United States of America. The term “Unambiguous Success in Iraqâ€, cited in the above opening paragraph, is deemed...

What 'President Obama' Would Do On FISA, Iraq Pull-Out by John Gizzi A President Barack Obama would support some kind of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act program with oversight by Congress. And Obama is still firmly committed to a pull-out of U.S. troops from Iraq in sixteen months. However, his sole “escape clause” from that exit strategy is “guidance and advice of commanders on the ground.” That’s what Obama’s top campaign spokesman told me last week. At a breakfast for more than forty Washington reporters hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, top Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs was fielding questions centered mostly...

Obama Calls for More Regulation of Oil IndustryOn the Hustings By Staff Reporter of the Sun June 23, 2008 Senator Obama is calling for increased regulation of the oil industry to curb market manipulation by speculators, blaming soaring gas prices in part on an eight-year-old federal loophole spearheaded by a top backer of Senator McCain. The Illinois senator and other Democrats say speculation has risen since 2000, when Phil Gramm, then a Texas senator, inserted a provision — often called the "Enron loophole" — that exempted many energy traders from oversight. Mr. Obama said he would work to repeal the...

Move-On.org is taking a firm stand on a campaign promise that Barack Obama made that said he would filibuster any wiretapping bill that had retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies that let the feds listen in on. MoveOn says in the letter “We need him to honor that promise.” The posting urges supporters to tell Obama how they feel by calling his presidential campaign to let him know that “you’re counting on him to keep his word.” Last Friday Obama announced his support for the intelligence surveillance law that is highly unpopular with most left activists; the money, momentum and votes...

(CNSNews.com) - The records of Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) are very different when it comes to judges and courts. The Republican and Democratic candidates for president are far apart when it comes to judicial philosophy and the votes they cast on major judicial nominations during the 109th and 110th Congresses. McCain wants to appoint judges who hold a constructionist interpretation of the U.S. Constitution, according to his campaign's Web site. "When applying the law, the role of judges is not to impose their own view as to the best policy choices for society but to faithfully...

Uh-oh. Obama's fringe-left credentials are really starting to show. When his good buddies in the MSM start liking John McCain's ideas, something is really wrong. And do I smell the faint odor of the Post's approval of nuclear power as well?

Pure speculation time again! Here's my vision of a possible McCain Administration cabinet and some other key posts. Here we go: Agriculture - Marilyn Musgrave, Congresswoman (R-CO) Representing Colorado's 4th district, Musgrave is a staunch conservative, strong on domestic drilling and a member of the House Agriculture Committee. Commerce - Mitt Romney, former Governor (R-MA) Everyone knows that Mitt knows commerce. Defense - Sam Nunn, former Senator (D-GA) Nunn has more defense creds than anyone on the planet. He served nearly 25 years in the Senate and was chairman of the Committe on Armed Services. Many say he retired because...

Kos is gloating over producing Barack Obama’s birth certificate. First, generally vital statistical records are not available to anyone except the subject of the record unless they have signed a release (I’m checking Hawaii’s laws). Perhaps the “Light Being” gave him a copy, who knows. But the interesting thing about this certificate is the description for race on Obama’s father, it lists him as “African”. In 1961 all Live Birth certificates contained the word “Black”, which is a race, not African. Not that it can’t be real, and I really don’t care, but hey, this is “Screw...
