Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst on Saturday reacted to the White House counsel’s defense against impeaching President Donald Trump, saying they “shredded” the House managers’ case in just two hours. “Within two hours I thought that the White House Counsel and their team entirely shredded the case that has been presented by the house managers,” Ernst said to reporters on Capitol Hill after listening to Trump’s lawyers.

Senate Impeachment Trial LIVE - day 5
-
House Democrats claimed Friday afternoon in President Donald Trump’s Senate trial that his comments on Twitter, in press conferences, and at campaign rallies criticizing the impeachment inquiry were impeachable “obstruction.” Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-TX), opened the impeachment managers’ case on the second article of impeachment, for “obstruction of Congress,” noting that the president had told reporters that “there should be a way of stopping it, maybe legally, through the courts.” She played a clip of him saying that, then continued: Soon after, President Trump took the matters into his own hands. The president used his authority, and his office, to...

Who is to blame for the impeachment of President Trump? It has to be either Trump or the House that impeached him. Or maybe a combination of the two.But the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank claims that, somehow, the “mess†is Chief Justice Roberts’s fault. Milbank is the Post’s clown prince. He’ll say anything, usually with as much snark as he can muster, to try to score a point against one of his boogeymen — a class that includes anyone who stands against his leftism. In this case, Milbank has outdone himself. Why is the U.S. Chief Justice responsible for the impeachment mess?...

Constitutional law expert Jonathan Turley delivered a stinging assessment of the Democrats’ rushed impeachment process against President Donald Trump. The George Washington University Law School professor blasted Democrats during an appearance on CBS News for their second article of impeachment charging Trump with obstruction of Congress.

CNN canceled its upcoming town halls featuring Democrat presidential candidates slated for next week due to the ongoing Senate impeachment trial, the outlet reported on Thursday. CNN was slated to hold a two-day town hall event for the Democrat presidential candidates at Drake University on Tuesday, January 28, and Wednesday, January 29, just days before the February 3 Iowa caucuses. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Andrew Yang (D), Tom Steyer (D), Pete Buttigieg (D), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Joe Biden (D) were expected to attend. However, the ongoing impeachment trial in the Senate will make it...

Today, a month after they were passed out of the House, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) signed articles of impeachment against President Trump. The articles aren't being officially received by the Senate until tomorrow, but that didn't stop House Democrats from squeezing as many photo ops out of the occasion as possible. Many in the media could hardly contain their good fortune to have a "front-row seat to history," as CNN's Wolf Blitzer put it. As Pelosi signed the articles — using a series of pens, so she could distribute them as keepsakes — MSNBC's Chris Matthews commented on her saying...

The three stooges of the House just tried to tie Russia to the re-election of President Trump! They invoked the Constitution in their comments too. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! The impeachment coup continues with a press conference this morning where Pelosi announced her 7 impeachment managers: Impeachment managers for US Senate trial are Reps. Nadler, Schiff, Crow, Demings, Jeffries, Lofgren and Sylvia Garcia. What is more important is the fact that the three Democrats who spoke inferred that this was an “urgent” matter because Trump is “cheating in the next election”…Does anyone believe this??? Pelosi: “This is about the Constitution of...

President Trump has locked down the defense team that will be representing him during his impeachment trial, as House Democrats move Wednesday to send the articles of impeachment against him to the Senate. The four-person legal team is made up of several top White House attorneys, with an administration official telling Fox News that other lawyers could cycle through or be on the floor in a support capacity during the Senate trial. Here are the four main attorneys that will make up Trump’s defense team: Pat Cipollone Cipollone, the White House counsel, will take the helm in commanding Trump’s defense....

Senate Impeachment Trial LIVE - day 4

The Democrats sent their elite brain trust to the Senate Floor on Tuesday to push their sham impeachment against President Donald Trump. Tuesday’s hearing lasted for hours as Democrats continued to push amendment after amendment begging Republicans to call witnesses they did not have the nerve to subpoena during their investigation in the US House. Several Americans were viewing the hearing online and on YouTube. That’s when Google-YouTube stepped in and blocked two prominent conservative feeds! Tom Fitton reported that YouTube took down the Judicial Watch feed. And the popular pro-Trump website Right Side Broadcasting Network had their feed taken...

If you are a Republican, the first week of impeachment meant the Democrats were unserious clowns, out to launch a coup against the duly elected President of the United States. The president's team was diligent, thoughtful and proficient. If you are a Democrat, the first week of impeachment meant the president's team was a cast straight from the island of misfit toys, unable to make a coherent argument -- and the Democrats were veritable geniuses. Impeachment, and your view on impeachment, is all in the eye of the beholder. Republicans think it is a scam, and Democrats think it is...

Our media elites arrogantly lecture about our democracy being undermined by robotic propaganda, but do they ever listen to themselves talk about the Democrats? Somehow, they think their robotic propaganda is just the "truth." The press came to witness the Senate impeachment trial, and Rep. Adam Schiff had them at hello. No member of Congress has been more dramatically partisan in this war on the Trump presidency than Schiff. Did you know he's the second coming of Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg? Check out this list of the media's responses to his opening statement at the trial. 1."I think it'll go...

CNN anchor John Berman lectured the U.S. senators who didn't stay in their seats for every minute of Wednesday's opening arguments in the impeachment trial against President Trump. While impeachment managers Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler presented their case against the president and how he supposedly tried to coerce Ukraine to boost his re-election chances, several lawmakers left their chairs. Berman found that unacceptable. "In fact, many of the senators of both parties were not at their desk at different times despite the rules which will require the apparently herculean task of sitting down for a few hours," Berman said....

RUSH: The Democrats now have 24 hours to make their case, two 12-hour days, ’cause the first day, the rules debate was yesterday. Twenty-four hours. Have you ever heard of any criminal trial with an opening argument, an opening statement of a week or four days. Twenty-four hours. And here’s the rub. They don’t have a case. They don’t have a crime. They don’t have an impeachable offense. And yet they’re going to take 24 hours to present what they are going to try to convince people are crimes and impeachingable offenses. I don’t know how people are gonna put...

RUSH: Now, you could be mistaken if you are confused. Greetings, my friends. Great to have you with us. It’s Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network and yet another three-hour excursion into broadcast excellence. Telephone number here if you want to be on the program, 800-282-2882. Now, today is supposed to be the start of the opening arguments in this so-called impeachment trial. Never mind the Democrats could not wait, they turned a debate that was supposed to be about whether to call witnesses before or after opening arguments into their opening arguments. They did their opening argument yesterday as part...

@YouTube just took down @JudicialWatch 's live stream of the impeachment trial for violating "community standards"! What on Earth is going on over there!

Adam Schiff is a man of very peculiar reasoning. Like a dolt shouting louder at a foreign-language speaker in a bid to make him 'understand,' Schiff's decided that if he just keeps speaking long enough, we will all suddenly turn into anti-Trumpsters and throw Trump from office. No kidding, he spoke for two and a half hours in his House manager introduction to the Senate impeachment court, the length of which alone was deadly to his case in the age of Twitter. Seriously, two and a half hours. Imagine listening to a dog barking for two and a half hours.... This sentiment pretty well...

Last year, Democrats rushed through the impeachment hearings because they claimed the evidence was overwhelming and impeachment had to be done immediately. Today, they’re bellyaching about the need for more witnesses and evidence in order for there to be a fair trial. This is, of course, after the Democrats didn’t allow the president any of his own witnesses during the House impeachment inquiry, and chose not to subpoena more witnesses in favor of getting the vote to impeach over with, so, as Nancy Pelosi has said, President Trump would be “impeached for life.” As White House counsel Pat Cippollone noted...
