Talk about bad luck. A Florida man was arrested Thursday for impersonating a law enforcement officer after pulling over an actual sheriff’s deputy, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said Barry Lee Hastings Jr., 35, of Plant City, was traveling eastbound on I-4 about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in his black Crown Victoria when he pulled behind an off-duty Lee County deputy and flashed his emergency lights. The deputy pulled over to the shoulder and the Crown Victoria rolled up besides him. Hastings reportedly told the deputy to “slow down.”

An aide to a Republican Florida politician was fired after suggesting two Parkland school shooting survivors who are the subject of conspiracy theories are "crisis actors." In an email, Benjamin A. Kelly, district secretary for Florida State Rep. Shawn Harrison who represents Hillsborough County, said that two students – David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez "are not students here but actors that travel to various crisis when they happen."

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — Florida is known to be a battleground state for presidential elections, and Hillsborough County may be the determining factor. Hillsborough County’s majority vote has predicted the winner of the presidential election 19 out of the last 20 elections, according to political analysts. The county’s balance of registered democrats, republicans, and independents makes the county one to watch; likely why both the Trump and Clinton campaigns have made multiple stops to Tampa Bay in the past few weeks – with more visits this week.

The Hillsborough County School Board in Tampa Florida appears to be the only school district in Florida and perhaps the nation which will knowingly allows Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) officials to instruct students regarding Islam and Sharia law. Tragically, board members have no problem with CAIR officials giving their biased version of “Sharia”, “Human Rights and Islam” and “Women and Islam in different countries” to hundreds of students at Steinbrenner High School funded by taxpayer dollars. Tampa, Florida (AP) — County records show Hillsborough County officers spent more than $6,000 for 92 lap dances, drinks and tips in an investigation into nudity and liquor law violations at an adult bikini bar. The investigation spanned more than two years. Sheriff David Gee says sometimes that's what it takes to get rid of problems. Gee says vice detectives first targeted Lil Tootsie's nightclub after deputies responded to numerous calls ranging from violence to DUI arrests. The agency recently asked county commissioners to revoke the club's special permit to serve alcohol. Records show sheriff's detectives sought 41 misdemeanor nudity...
