It takes a lot to rattle Leena Ghani. As an artist turned activist helping to raise the voices of Pakistan’s women, she has often fielded abuse, threats and harassment. But when she learned, on a morning in late September, that police had charged her for criminal defamation, linked to Pakistan’s most high-profile #MeToo case, Ghani says she was shaken. “In terms of silencing and demonising people speaking out against sexual assault, it was a new low even for Pakistan,” she says. Ghani was not alone. Eight others were also named in the case, facing three years in jail for criminal...

Believing they have won the presidential race, Democrats are compiling lists of Trump supporters to harass, keep from paid employment, ban from book and television deals, and more. One day after declaring victory in the U.S. presidential race, Democrats started making Enemy of the State political dissident lists of Donald Trump supporters for public heretic and disloyalty trials. Haven’t we had enough over-the-top political rhetoric in the last four years? Well, leftwing voices sure didn’t get the memo. Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin tweeted, “Any R now promoting rejection of an election or calling to not to follow the will...

A far left group is vowing to “make sure Trump leaves” the White House after the election, even if he wins, with radicals preparing to storm and occupy DC. The Shut Down DC group says it will “be in the streets before the polls even close,” asserting that “Trump will not leave office without mass mobilization and direct action.” “On Election Day, when you’re done voting, doing election protection, or getting out the vote, come join us at Black Lives Matter Plaza,” states the group’s manifesto. “We’re inviting everybody who agrees with these organizing principles to work together to make...

House Democrats are launching an investigation into President Trump’s treatment of the Secret Service during his bout with the coronavirus. Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, accused Trump of disregarding the safety of his protective detail when he left Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a short drive in his limousine to greet supporters who were outside the facility. Thompson called Trump’s Sunday night trip a “joyride” that risked the health and safety of the agents who had to accompany him on the trip. “So we can know more about how these events have affected the...

Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris in April 2019 said she believes 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden’s accusers, however, she has not addressed the reports that have surfaced backing up the claims that Biden sexually assaulted a female staffer when he was a senator. “I believe them and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” Harris said at a presidential campaign event in Nevada. When asked if Biden should run for president, Harris said “He’s going to have to make that decision for himself. I wouldn’t tell him what to do.” This...

Actress Ashley Judd alleges that Harvey Weinstein tried to make her watch him shower and give him a massage at a Beverly Hills hotel in the mid ‘90s, and on Wednesday, a federal appeals court ruled that Judd can sue the disgraced former producer under a California sexual harassment law. The sexual harassment portion of Judd’s lawsuit, filed in 2018 and put on hold in the midst of Weinstein’s criminal trial, was initially dismissed by a judge in a lower court because Weinstein was not technically her employer at the time. However, because Weinstein held such a position of power...

Inconsistencies are emerging in claims made by Cathy Areu, a once-periodic Fox News guest, that she was harassed by some of the network’s biggest names — including prime time anchor Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity. New emails obtained by Mediaite shed further light on the case. In a lawsuit filed on Monday in the Southern District of New York, Areu claims she was harassed by Carlson, Hannity and other employees of the network, and that she was largely barred from appearing after she declined their advances. In an initial response the company said the claims were “completely false.” Over the...

Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Monday The New York Times was planning to publish a story this week on where his family lives to “hurt” them in an effort to make him “shut up and stop disagree with them”—a claim the paper denies. “Last week The New York Times began working on a story about where my family and I live. As a matter of journalism there is no conceivable justification for a story like that. The paper is not alleging we’ve done anything wrong and we haven’t. We pay our taxes. We like our neighbors. We’ve never had...

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police are again in the spotlight after a Facebook video was posted that shows a Buffalo officer verbally abusing a woman as other officers attend to a man outside a 7-11 store in the city. Sources in the department tell WBEN there is an internal investigation now underway into the incident caught on video and Lieutenant Michael Delong has now been suspended without pay. In the video, which contains extremely vulgar and obscene language, Delong asks the woman recording with her cell phone if the vehicle she is near is hers. The woman was...

Last fall, Johnathon Schaech was running out of options. After making a living as an actor for 30 years — 1996's That Thing You Do! was his breakout — he was in danger of losing his SAG health insurance from lack of work, and he and his wife were trying to have a baby. Schaech, 50, had become something of an unwitting spokesman for male #MeToo victims in 2018 after he said Italian director Franco Zeffirelli had sexually assaulted him on the set of the movie Sparrow in 1993. (Before Zeffirelli died in June 2019, his son, Pippo, denied the...

The recent ruling by SCOTUS on LGBTQ+ rights has far-reaching, unintended consequences. The court was basically saying, "you wouldn't fire a woman for wearing a dress, so if you fire a man for wearing a dress, you are treating men unfairly." Here's another scenario. A female employee says "Women are b*tches." The boss takes no action because it's a woman insulting women. A male employee says "Women are b*tches". Now, you can no longer fire that man for sexual harassment, because you would be firing them for something specifically because they are a man.

Harassment is a form of employment discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, (ADEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, (ADA). Harassment is unwelcome conduct that is based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information. Harassment becomes unlawful where 1) enduring the offensive conduct becomes a condition of continued employment, or 2) the conduct is severe or pervasive enough to create a work environment that a reasonable person would consider intimidating, hostile, or abusive. Hi BOSTON (CBS) – Six former eBay executives and employees are facing federal charges after they allegedly led a cyberstalking campaign against a Natick couple they believed was critical of the company in an online ecommerce newsletter. U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said the eBay employees’ harassment included sending the couple “disturbing deliveries” that included a bloody pig mask, a box of live cockroaches, and a funeral wreath. The employees also allegedly sent anonymous threatening messages and traveled to Massachusetts to conduct “covert surveillance” of the victims. “It was a determined, systematic effort of senior employees of a major company to...

A woman says she was sexually harassed by presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee Joe Biden when she was 14 years old. The woman, Eva Murry, told Law&Crime that Biden complimented her on the size of her breasts at the First State Gridiron Dinner & Show in 2008, a long-running roast of and party for politicians, journalists and prominent business figures held each year in Delaware. Murry says she remembers the event occurring sometime around May of that year.

A group of women whose lives were ruined after being coerced into participating in pornography has just gotten some small measure of vindication in a civil suit against the pornographers. According to The Washington Post, a California judge has tentatively ordered a pornography company to pay $13 million to 22 young women after ruling that they were tricked and inappropriately pressured to make the videos which did not, as promised, stay offline. The ruling, given last Thursday, was the latest development in the women’s years-long legal battle against the owners of GirlsDoPorn, a San Diego-based business that made millions producing...

The Trump administration is heading to court this week in two lawsuits charging that the president is violating the Constitution by profiting off of his hotels and other businesses while in office. The cases revolve around the Constitution’s once-obscure emoluments clauses, which critics say President Trump has flouted, giving foreign diplomats an opening to curry favor with him by patronizing his businesses. On Monday, a panel of judges on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments over whether members of Congress can sue the president for alleged emoluments violations, and on Thursday, the full 4th Circuit Court...

Three teenage boys have admitted threatening two women on a bus after they refused to perform a sex act. Melania Geymonat, 28, and her girlfriend Chris were targeted on the top of a double-decker London night bus after refusing to kiss. The teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 17, appeared in court on Thursday after previously denying charges of harassment by using threatening or abusive words or behaviour. Highbury Corner Youth Court previously heard the two women were surrounded by the boys, hit with coins and subjected to sexual gestures after they refused to perform a sex act. Prosecutor Saira Khan...
