  • Why Republicans Could Have A Pro-Gay Marriage Presidential Candidate In 2016 ZOT!

The Supreme Court’s recent decision not to take up challenges to state amendments banning same-sex marriage has had two significant effects – it has expanded marriage to 30 states and reignited the political conversation around marriage equality in the 2014 midterms. Since 2011, I have worked with Project Right Side to help Republican leaders navigate a radically changing electorate on the freedom to marry. While public acceptance of marriage equality has steadily increased, this moment may ultimately be looked upon as the point where Republican opposition to marriage equality began to fall in earnest. According to a recent poll of...

  • I am a Gay Republican

I am a Gay Republican but I almost never chime in on political issues. I believe in small government, which the Bush administration has not been good at, as well as low taxes and the free market. I don't believe in manmade global warming and I think environmental activism is mostly a cover for people who want to make more rules to control our lives. Social issues don't get me very excited and I know I should be more grateful to my gay forefathers for all their sacrifices, but I've never encountered homophobia in my entire life so gay rights...

I am preparing s paper for my sociology class on the subject of why gay men lisp. I have posted inquiries on numerous forums that may have participants who could give insight into this subject. Is this a genetic trait as a side property of the natural predisposition to be gay? Or is it something about the habits of gay men that causes it? Perhaps, it is cultural - a way for gay men to let other gay men know that they are gay. Please give me your input. Please, no jokes.
  • Yawn, zot. I have decided to become a conservative

I have always been a liberal and usually voted Democrat, although sometimes I was talked into voting Green. But the liberals keep losing and it's not fun, so I have decided to switch to conservative. The problem is I don't know how to do this. Is there a kit or something to act as a guide in the conversion process? Also, does this mean I will always need to vote Republican or are there other options. I'll appreciate all the advice I can get.
  • Queer Film Festival premieres at Notre Dame University

Queer Film Festival premieres Award-winning films by gay and lesbian artists to be shown By Beth Erickson Published: Thursday, February 10, 2005 The second annual Notre Dame Queer Film Festival, which begins today and runs through Saturday, will screen several award-winning films by gay and lesbian artists and host two panels with acclaimed writers and directors. Unlike the inaugural festival held last spring, which raised eyebrows and sparked campus-wide debate, this year's festival has faced little opposition. "We think that a film festival is a good medium to bring the entire community together. This type of festival - not just...
  • Same-Sex Marriage - A Threat To Whom?

I have read many messages which object to same-sex marriage but I am still waiting to learn what specific adverse consequences opponents of gay marriage anticipate to result from its legalization. In other words, suppose same-sex marriage becomes law during 2005. By 2010 or 2015 what specific indisputable adverse consequences to society do opponents predict to occur? With respect to those critics of same-sex marriage who refer to "God's law" and "procreation" --- do they believe that heterosexual couples who cannot have children, or who do not wish to have children, should also NOT be allowed to marry? The essence...
