I'm one of JimRob's admin mods on his Free Republic on Facebook (Free Republic Official) facebook page. We're 14,000 strong and growing everyday!Tuesday, election day, most of the threads posted there dealt with the election results and the obvious voter fraud that was happening in the blue states, just like those threads posted here on the FR motherboard.Well, yesterday and today, FB has cracked down on us, (and other conservative FB forums), even further and isn't allowing any members to openly post their threads without FR moderator approval. It puts an extra burden on the mods here because none of us...

I have not got COVID-19. I do not wear a mask. Neither my wife, nor any of my eight children, who are spread all over the world have got COVID-19, nor have their children.... I have a rather small inner circle of friends… Maybe 30 in all… Not one of them, nor anyone of their family have got COVID-19. I live in San Diego. I am wondering if anyone On FREE REPUBLIC has had or does have COVID-19…? Were your symptoms bad if you did/do have it… ...Do you personally know anyone who has died of it? If you do...

What, where, and how best to get a picture from my iPhone onto FR?

Back during the Clinton years, there was a user here that I believe went by the name Quidam, but not sure if my memory is serving me correctly. Their posts were cryptic, DC insider messages of impending charges and what would be considered now as changes to drain the swamp. I'm wondering if this user moved to Reddit and expanded his audience or was one of many insiders who was posting here. Thoughts?

An important anniversary passed this month and predictably received no attention. *** On September 8, 2004, CBS’s “60 Minutes” used forged government documents as the basis for a story that attacked the military record of then-President George W. Bush. It was bad enough that CBS used forged government documents, but what made it worse was that CBS aired this story during the presidential election and timed the airing to coincide with the rollout of Democrat John Kerry’s “favorite son” campaign theme. CBS thus provided the “news” upon which the Democrat candidate based his attack ads. The CBS story was quickly...

I sent in my absentee ballot today from Spain. It arrived yesterday. Because it's official business there was no postmark but there was a date of 9/18/2020 on the address label, so if they sent it that day it would have taken 12 days to arrive here. Not bad. The bad part is that I send mail to people in America and it has been taking ages to arrive ever since the lockdowns started. I've had to resend a couple because they never showed up and mail I sent to 2 FReepers in 2 different parts of the country in...

Jim's Wife, Sheila, is in need of all our prayers. She has not been doing very well and has gotten very weak. She eats very little. Jim has nurses coming in 3 times a week and senior helpers coming in every morning. Senior helpers help with cooking, cleaning and anything else where help is needed. In adition to chcking her vitals, they make sure she takes her medication and they give her bed baths. John and Chris are working around the clock to make sure she is turned every two hours. Marissa helps as much as possible Please join...

How do you change your user name or profile name here on Free Republic? I picked "Maga2017" back in 2016 but I want to update it to something that's not tied to a specific year. I can't seem to find the option in the My Profile or My Account links on FR. Thank you in advance.

Suddenly stricken by a pulmonary embolism, Lloyd joined his Lord and Savior the day after he and his devoted wife, Mary Ann Milliken Parker Marcus, celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. In the previous week, the couple had returned from campaigning on the West Coast. Tests revealed no presence of Covid-19. In addition to his beloved wife Mary, Lloyd leaves daughter, Lisa Maria Marcus (Roni) and son, Timothy Billy Parker (April), as well as granddaughter, Moire Parker. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dr. Lloyd E. and Rodell (Miss Tillie) Jackson Marcus Jr., as well as his younger...

Guest Piece by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart Today, with a host of conservative websites producing exceptional; content that the Hoax News media refuses to cover, including uncoverdc.com, Breitbart, TheLibertyDaily, Hot Air, and others, it is useful to remember that at one time there was really only one such site. When conservatives had not been vocal, let alone active, www.freerepublic.com (http://www.freerepublic.com) became both the mouthpiece and the gathering place for activism for conservatives. It’s hard today, with the hundreds of on-line news and commentary sites, to imagine a time when there were few opposition voices to the liberal media. CNN...

As the MSM-Democrats try to flip the narrative they established — as is their wont — here is offered a timeline of FR stories from the early hours of the big Minneapolis protests. The timeline starts during the afternoon of Friday, 29 May 2020, and covers the next 80 hours or so, until around 2300 hours EST on 1 June. See for yourself what was going on, how the MSM covered it, how Democrat and Republican leaders reacted to it, and the amount of lying and blame-shifting that was done even then.

Today I have the honor of announcing the passing of TheRightGuy, aka Jeff S of Arlington Heights, IL (73 years old). Jeff leaves behind a son, a loving wife Laurie of 24 years, and many others. TheRightGuy was an integral part of the Chicago Chapter of FreeRepublic, his enthusiasm for activism, wry sense of humor, and love of country was something to behold. I can still hear his voice and his laughter, even though it's been years since we were in person together. Jeff epitomized conservative activism, he loved FreeRepublic, attending national conferences and chapter events because he believed that...

I have Firefox with Stylus. Stylus allows me to change styling, including background colors, of certain elements on a page via CSS. I can then apply this CSS to one site only, like Freerepublic.com. I'm able to change the background color of my username on this site in a reply like this: a[href*="chuckr163"] { background-color: #99d78b !important; } But how do I change the background color of my whole reply but not anyone else's reply? All replies have a CSS selector of "div.a2" but I don't want to color all replies, just my own replies. Thank you!

I've just been notified by his wife that Thom Stickel (A little elbow grease) passed away yesterday. Thom was a proud alumni of the University of Pittsburgh, where he played baseball on scholarship. Our mutual love of baseball shaped our friendship and our similar ages allowed for great memories dating back to the late 50s and 60s. He never let me forget about the greatest homerun ever hit by Bill Mazeroski against the Yankees in 1960 :) I'll miss Thom and our offline exchanges badly and I know many others will miss him too. God bless you Thom, your presence...

I've been a member here since 2009 and over the years I've made an observation of my own. It's not scientific and it's not anything other than my own personal anecdotal observation. It seems that if we will see someone start to post negative comments about a conservative or conservatives in general these posters tend to have been on FR for more than a year but less than two years. There's the obvious trolls who sign up and get zotted in their first week or so. But these folks are what I would call 'sleepers'. They know how FR culture...

Back in 1997 a highly patriotic man got tired of being censored at a popular site of the time. With his understanding of America's Constitution, he created a site called Free Republic (FR). It was/is a very fitting name. It grew exponentially and the participants started creating FR city chapters for local activism beyond their discussions. They were on the streets no matter the age, race, or sex. One sentence from Jim Robinson created an entire movement that brought people from all over the country to make a statement in DC about Bill Clinton. It was called the "March For...

WW2 hero passed yesterday, age 95 I’ve posted before about Raymond T. Matheny, my second cousin. He authored the book, “Rite of Passage” describing his experience as a B17 flight engineer, shot down in January 1944, then spent 16 months as POW in Stalag 17. After the war, he eventually became a professor of archeology at BYU. Last summer at age 94, he presented his last paper at an archeology meeting before his retirement.
