And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer:This is FINALLY the conclusion to the “Pig Acceptance Story.” Because the talking pig was able to scare away the chainsaw weasel (they are natural enemies), Freddy’s Dad decided to let him stay. And all is at peace (for the time being). The last panel is a play on a phase I was going through at the time where I just loved coming up with the most sarcastic and biting ways possible to say “I don’t care” to someone.

Hello, friends! It’s great to be back!!Now I’m going to do something a little different with the Dinklemeyer tonight. Since I took a break last time mid-story, I’m going to post the last Dinklemeyer strip along with this one, just to make sure everyone knows what’s going on.So here, at last, we’re having the conclusion to the “Pig Acceptance” story. This is probably the silliest story in the Dinklemeyer strips and probably one of the most fun (losing out only to a later story where the talking pig takes over a major corporation).

And now the Dinklemeyer: As far as the Dinklemeyer cartoon universe goes, this is the official turning point. The strip right here makes the transition from being a poignant look at a lonely boy (there is still more of that in the future though) to a goofy, funny cartoon. This also continues the “Pig Acceptance Story” in which the talking pig is pressing for acceptance in the Dinklemeyer household. How this ties in with that, we’ll see next time. And it is too funny.

There! Finally getting around to illegal immigration! And next we have a Dinklemeyer:This is continuing the “Pig Acceptace” story, in which, as that name indicates, the talking pig is fighting for acceptance in the Dinklemeyer household.I had decided to change Freddy’s look just a little bit and give him long pants instead of shorts. But it really probably wasn’t worth drawing attention to like that.Nevertheless, this strip does sum up the pig’s personality pretty well. This is about to turn into one of the goofiest story’s I’ve ever written. Should be great!

I really probably should have tackled the whole illegal immigration thing going on, but I came up with this idea and started working on it Friday and there was no way I could go back once I started.BTW, this is a real story. And now one of my favorite Dinklemeyers: This is based loosely on my own Dad’s nightly eating habits, though he’s not nearly as messy. This strip really in earnest begins the “Pig Acceptance” story, where the pig has to press for acceptance in the Dinklemeyer household. It really establishes the characters and their personalities well. Freddy will often...

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer: Freddy is depressed at the beginning, but it makes a sharp turn. It’s what some might call the ol’ “left turn in the last panel.”What presses now is that Freddy’s Dad has been introduced as a character, but now he’s just discovered that Freddy has a pig. Which he’s not too happy about. So after getting out of the Deathball story, this turns quickly into the next one: the talking pig has to press for Freddy’s Dad to welcome him into the household.Only this one’s not quite as sweet as the sort of thing you’d...

And the Dinklemeyer:It is my privilege to now introduce to you, my readers, with the third major character to appear in the Dinklemeyer cartoons: MEET…Freddy’s Dad.This strip concludes the “deathball story” that’s been going on for a few weeks, and introduces the Dad.Freddy’s Dad is a fun character and almost as funny as the talking pig. He’s rarely named in the strip, but his full name, as a trivia matter, is Dockie-Pierre Dinklemeyer, a sort of weird mix of my Grandfather’s nickname and my Dad’s middle name. But mostly I’ll just refer to him as “Freddy’s Dad.”I didn’t want...

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer:This is continuing the “Deathball” story, where our hero is being forced in gym class to play a horrifying game (based on my own Middle School experiences…hardly an exaggeration). But actually, this individual strip represents something important: the lines are getting darker. After a while of practicing, my artistic abilities were gradually getting better. Here, we see the contrast is greater and the strip is a little easier to look at.Be sure to show up Friday, because then we’re going to meet the third major character to be introduced and become a character. And you definitely...

THE 50TH FREEPTOON Welcome, welcome, welcome! Tonight we are celebrating the most monumental occasion in the history of the world: This is the 50th FReeptoon drawn and posted by the man of the hour, pcottraux. I can honestly say that when I first started, I didn’t think I’d make it this far. I’d like to thank everyone on my ping list, first and foremost, and all the kind words they like to give. I’d also like to thank everyone who didn’t like and/or insulted my cartoons, because it gives me a rush of righteous indignation to thank the detractors. Okay,...

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer: This one is continuing the story started last week: Deathball. This story is a culmination of the awful memories I have being forced to play volleyball in Middle School.

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer: This is the beginning of the second actual story in the strip (the plot will be continued over the next few weeks). “Deathball” is a takeoff on my own horrible experiences in Middle School gym class being forced to play volleyball.

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer: This is the last appearance of Stephanie. I couldn’t think of anything to do with the character after this. She and Karen, the two hot girls from the strip, both vanished after this.

I’ve had this one in my head since the beginning and am finally getting to use it. And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer. This is one of the least artistic Dinklemeyers, but it does its job. I’ve always hated drawing tables. This strip continues to establish the talking pig as a character, as well as the relationship between him and Freddy. In a classic cartoony way, the only Freddy can hear the pig talk, and the pig always refers to Freddy as “Clyde,” just because he likes that name better. I think “Clyde” is a funny name. I liked exploring...

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer: <It felt kind of weird after 9/11 to try to continue with ordinary life; a strange shadow hangs over everything. Nevertheless, I pressed onward. Here, I continued to introduce the talking pig. I’m also establishing that he’s not as smart as he acts. This is the first of many “bacon jokes” involving him. Hey, pigs invite bacon jokes upon themselves. I’m not sure why his arm is extended in the first panel: that’s just how he came out.

Hopefully, everyone knows who that is in the right hand side of the last panel, so I don’t have to tell anyone (it should be obvious…can anyone guess?). And now for two Dinklemeyers tonight, the second one being the most emotional of them all: Here, I have just introduced the talking pig, and wanted establish some of the rules around him (subtitle included there). He’s a guy who acts smart and intellectual, but is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. I couldn’t myself explain why only Freddy could hear the pig talk, so I just decided...

< br> And now, I bring you tonight’s Dinklemeyer. It is with great pleasure that I introduce the first major character besides Freddy to last throughout the strip’s history: I never gave the talking pig a name; he is just called The Pig. In expanding Dinklemeyer’s world, I wanted to draw a lot more of Freddy’s home life and get him away from High School. If I’m allowed to say it, the pig is one of my all-time favorite cartoon characters that I personally have created. I had long wanted to do an animal character. At first, I thought,...

Everyone, I just thought I’d announce that tonight marks the 40th FReeptoon I’ve drawn and posted. I don’t know if that means anything, but I’m sure it’s worth mentioning. And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer: This is one of my favorites. It’s very simple and efficient, yet it’s also sharp and funny. I also brings a name to the gym coach character (Stroganoff). He, the principal, and the bully both have been established as minor characters who make occasional appearances. He is VERY MUCH based on my own experiences with ridiculous sadistic and uncaring drill-sergeant-like coaches. This strip is also important,...

And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer:In this mean little thing, I introduced that Freddy did at least have a little bit of a dark side. Perhaps a yearning to conquer the world, or at least his high school, in a Napoleonic way? I also here first brought the actual name of his school, Boron High School. This is the longest continual strip in the series, running two pages (though the size of the drawings helps. I didn’t want anyone to interpret it in a dark or sinister way (a la Columbine; you have to be careful in today’s paranoid politically correct...
