Many have long suspected that the FISA warrants on Carter Page and the Trump campaign were phony, but now the proof has begun to emerge. Via @Paul Sperry: The FBI's application to spy on Carter Page and Trump campaign repeats to FISA judge the myth that the GOP platform on Russia was watered down It was not. The declassified FBI warrant application attests to secret FISA court that "THE FBI LEARNED that Page met with at least two Russian officials during the trip,"as if FBI learned this independently, when in fact it's clear it relied on Clinton-paid dossier for the informationTarget...

Here is former U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy today analyzing the redacted FISA documents released by the Justice Department last night. He is very strong in saying he is “shocked” to find that, indeed, the FBI used the unverified and discredited Steele Dossier to justify their need for a FISA Warrant to spy on Carter Page. McCarthy said he really didn’t think they would do that – that he didn’t think something like this could happen here. But it has. . . .

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said the Department of Justice and FBI did nothing “wrong” while obtaining the FISA warrants for surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Rubio said, “I don’t believe that them looking into Carter Page means they were spying on the campaign......

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Hey, who let Hillary out of the ICU? – The Pantsuit Princess made another of her incessant speaking gigs in New York City, and wasn’t wearing a pantsuit! Instead, the Grasping Grifter was dressed in what for all the world looks like a Hospital gown: Yikes. Someone needs to perform an intervention here. Don’t look now, but the narrative is changing, and the media won’t like it. – Tom Fitton and his folks at Judicial Watch (JW) performed a major public service yesterday, a service for which they will be excoriated by...

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration has disclosed a previously top-secret set of documents related to the wiretapping of Carter Page, the onetime Trump campaign adviser who was at the center of highly contentious accusations by Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee that the F.B.I. had abused its surveillance powers. [Read the documents here.]

Way back when CTH first began the deep dive into the systems and processes that were deployed in the 2015/2016 election cycle we eventually came to the conclusion that everything of substance, within the larger intelligence abuses, revolved around DOJ and FBI abuses of the FISA process. As an outcome of multiple research deep-dives we then focused on a specific foundational block of that usurpation, the fraudulent application presented to the FISA Court by officials within the FBI and DOJ-NSD (National Security Division). The October 21st, 2016, application to the FISA Court for surveillance authority upon U.S. person Carter Page;...

Over a year after the House intelligence committee demanded that the Justice Department (DOJ) hand over documents related to potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the House voted on June 28 in favor of a resolution demanding that it do so. Despite numerous requests, including several subpoenas, the DOJ has not provided Congress with all of the documents it has requested. The requested documents relate to potential violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by DOJ personnel as it relates to the Trump campaign as well as related matters. Earlier this year, it was revealed by the...

On Friday, former Attorney General Eric Holder predicted there will be a point where the Department of Justice “will not go any further.” He further stated, “We’re going to be in the middle of some kind of crisis.” Holder said, “I suspect that we are on a path where there’s going to be an inevitable clash. We’re going to get to a point where the Justice Department simply will not go any further. I think Rod will not go any further, and something’s going to happen. I don’t know who gets fired or what happens, but we’re going to be...

On Friday, former Attorney General Eric ‘Fast and Furious’ Holder demanded “unprincipled” House Republicans halt their investigations into FISA abuse and Spygate, warning the probes “must stop.” House Republicans held two hearings this week, demanding answers from Peter Strzok, FBI Director Wray and DAG Rosenstein about government surveillance during the 2016 election. GOP lawmakers grilled Peter Strzok Wednesday in a closed-door deposition. According to Chairman Goodlatte, FBI counsel instructed Strzok not to answer many of the questions. Wray and Rosenstein appeared on Capitol Hill Thursday for a Congressional hearing. House Republicans torched Rosenstein over his conflicts of interest in the...

Regarding a request (#9) by Goodlatte/Gowdy on all emails related to "all coverage on the Clinton Foundation or persons associated or in communication with the Clinton Foundation," the FBI is replying with a classified letter. This is also related to request #8 and the two are intertwined, so materials are put in a classified briefing room. After the committee reads those materials, it is asked to then specify further what other docs they want.

“F.B.I. Used Informant to Investigate Russia Ties to Campaign, Not to Spy, as Trump Claims,” read the headline on a lengthy New York Times story May 18. “The Justice Department used a suspected informant to probe whether Trump campaign aides were making improper contacts with Russia in 2016,” read a story in the May 21 edition of The Wall Street Journal. So much for those who dismissed charges of Obama administration infiltration of Donald Trump’s campaign as paranoid fantasy. Defenders of the Obama intelligence and law enforcement apparat have had to fall back on the argument that this infiltration was...

s Trump won primary after primary in 2016, a rattled John Brennan started claiming to colleagues at the CIA that Estonia’s intelligence agency had alerted him to an intercepted phone call suggesting Putin was pouring money into the Trump campaign. The tip was bogus, but Brennan bit on it with opportunistic relish. Out of Brennan’s alarmist chatter about the bogus tip came an extraordinary leak to the BBC: that Brennan had used it, along with later half-baked tips from British intelligence, as the justification to form a multi-agency spy operation (given the Orwellian designation of an “inter-agency taskforce”) on the...

Seventeen Republican lawmakers, led by Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), submitted a resolution Tuesday demanding the appointment of a second special counsel to probe “misconduct” by Justice Department and FBI officials during the 2016 presidential election. ~~~ The 12-page resolution requested the Justice Department to appoint a second special counsel to probe matters associated to three topics: the ending of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s personal email server, the progress of the Trump-Russia investigation from its “origins through the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel, and abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) during the warrant application process.”

Former Attorney General Eric Holder blasted President Donald Trump’s demand to investigate possible federal meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign as “dangerous” and “democracy threatening” in a message posted Monday afternoon. “Trump demand for DOJ investigation is dangerous/democracy threatening. DOJ response is disappointing,” Holder lamented on Twitter. “There is no basis/no predicate for an inquiry. It’s time to stand for time-honored DOJ independence. That separation from White House is a critical part of our system.” On Sunday, President Trump took to Twitter to demand that the Justice Department probe politically-motivated spying on his campaign. “I hereby demand, and will do...

Saturday, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) said that if Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein does not turn over the unredacted documents requested by Congress related to FISA, FBI and more then impeachment could be in order. “Rod Rosenstein can call Michael Horowitz, who has the documents, and say just give them to Congress. If he doesn’t do that … there is a growing consensus of holding them in contempt of Congress, but it’s not enough to stop there. We have to have someone willing to do the job. If the deputy attorney general is not willing to do it and not...
