    The Thousand Year Reign of Christ on Earth: Is it Biblical? This is the passage in question: "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished....

    This is a discussion about the term "elect" or "election" found in the bible. I believe the elect are a combination of the remnant of Israel from the days of Christ and the apostles, and the holy men of old. I base this on several direct scriptural references: This verse implies Christ is the elect: "Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles." (Isa 42:1 KJV) In these verses Israel or Judah is the elect, but could also be interpreted...
