    Police said the dog charged toward officers.San Francisco police shot and killed a dog in Potrero Hill Saturday morning. The shooting happened on the 1000 block of Connecticut Street around 10 a.m. where housing officers were checking for squatters in vacant homes. When an officer opened the door of an abandoned unit, a dog charged at him. The officer then shot and killed the dog as he was falling, according to police Sgt. Danielle Newman.
