A rather eye-popping, pro-abortion tweet has been making rounds and gaining some steam — courtesy of Renee Bracey Sherman, who calls herself the "Beyoncé of Abortion Storytelling" and a "reproductive justice activist committed to the visibility and representation of people who have had abortions in media and pop culture." Here's what she tweeted Wednesday: ***tweet image on link** "I've talked to my 5-year-old niece about my work and abortion in an age-appropriate way. She understands that kids are a handful and sometimes people don't want to be pregnant. She gets it because it's quite simple.https://rewire.news/article/2020/01/13/having-the-abortion-talk-with-children-is-easier-than-you-think-just-ask-these-parents/ …" As you might expect,...

One of my female relatives went loco yesterday during Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. She screamed out loud that she would rather sleep with an ISIs member or ms13 than a Republican or a police officer. She hates police, she says that they murder minorities. I calmed her down. This is not the same crazy cousin from last year. This is another crazy relative.

Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man is changing the dynamic of Peter Parker's social circle in a huge way as he's been forced to defend his roommate, Boomerang, from the new incarnation of the Syndicate, an all-female crew sent by Wilson Fisk to kidnap him. But while the latest chapter sees the team pursuing Boomerang to undoubtedly score a major payday, we eventually discover a common ambition the members share: They want to bring down the patriarchy and, more so, take a shot against toxic masculinity in a New York that they believe should have more women in power. When the women...

A Palestinian immigrant convicted of hiding an Israeli terrorism conviction from U.S. authorities when she moved to the Chicago suburbs in the 1990s should be locked up for at least five years, federal prosecutors say. Anything less would be a “slap on the wrist” for Evergreen Park activist Rasmieh Odeh, and could encourage terrorists fighting with ISIS to come to the U.S., they argue. But lawyers for Odeh — who was convicted by an Israeli court of taking part in a Jerusalem supermarket bombing that killed two students in 1969 — say she was a freedom fighter, not a terrorist,...

MORGAN CITY, La. — The Democratic governor of Louisiana signed one of the strictest anti-abortion bills in the country into law, then traveled to a barge here to inspect emergency flood control efforts. But John Bel Edwards couldn't stop the political deluge from his own party. "Gov. Edwards' decision is dangerous and we will fight it," said Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the bill "heartbreaking." Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., labeled it "draconian," while Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., called his decision to sign it "outrageous." Even the chairwoman his own Louisiana Democratic Party blasted the governor's...

If you support Bernie Sanders, then you are probably an entitled young white guy. A Bernie bro. Someone who purports to support progressive ideas, but is really a raging misogynist who could never vote for a woman. We heard this message ad infinitum during the 2016 primaries; Gloria Steinem even accused young female Sanders supporters of only supporting him over Hillary Clinton because “the boys are with Bernie”. Which was an incredibly bizarre thing for a feminist to say. Now that the 2020 primaries have kicked off, we are being told once again that Sanders is the brocialist choice, and...

A vegan feminist cafe in Australia that imposed an 18 per cent “gender surcharge” on men and gave women priority seating has closed down. The Handsome Her cafe, which only opened a few years ago and was located in inner city Melbourne, described itself as “by women, for women”. The venue attracted headlines in 2017 for challenging the “gender pay gap” (which doesn’t exist) by charging men extra. At the time, the cafe’s management claimed the attention left them “jam-packed with customers showing their support”. Not anymore. A notice on the cafe’s website says it’s closing for good on April...

Charlotte Riley, who teaches history at the University of Southampton, penned an interesting op-ed in the New Statesmen last month where she literally suggested standing in the way of busy males on their morning commute to help resist perceived patriarchy in society. According to Riley, such tactics are necessary because males have naturally been raised to believe they have a “right to occupy space.” “The point is that men have been socialised, for their entire lives, to take up space. Men who would never express these thoughts out loud have nevertheless been brought up to believe that their right to...

Harris met Willie Brown in 1994 when he was speaker of the state Assembly. She was 29, he was 60. Harris' networks, especially in high society, expanded rapidly while she was going out with one of California's most powerful politicians. The association also had major financial benefits, which Harris talks about reluctantly. Aside from handing her an expensive BMW, Brown appointed her to two patronage positions in state government that paid handsomely — more than $400,000 over five years. In 1994, she took a six-month leave of absence from her Alameda County job to join the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board....

A retired history professor from Grinnell College and feminist announced that she wishes that “all men were dead” in a column for the Washington Post over the weekend. Retired history professor Victoria Bissell Brown published a bizarre column in the Washington Post on Friday in which she detailed an outburst she had at her husband that included her wishing for the death of all men. I yelled at my husband last night. Not pick-up-your-socks yell. Not how-could-you-ignore-that-red-light yell. This was real yelling. This was 30 minutes of from-the-gut yelling. Triggered by a small, thoughtless, dismissive, annoyed, patronizing comment. Really small....

Some parents are proud when their kids are kind, generous, loving and compassionate. Feminist parents are proud when their kid CRIES after encountering a non-feminist. That’s exactly what Maggie Gyllenhaal’s daughter did. She’s obviously proud, because she told the story to everyone on “The View.” “She ran into somebody recently, a little girl her age, who said she wasn’t feminist and my daughter was astonished … she came home and cried to me about it,” she said. The View ✔ @TheView @mgyllenhaal shares about her 12-year-old daughter, who she calls an activist: "She ran into somebody recently, a little girl...

As we get it, the women’s movement is largely about a woman’s right to choose. How odd that they’ve chosen a sharia advocate as their leader, Linda Sarsour. Sarsour, part of the wave of Palestinian Arabs who’ve entered this country over the past few years, stands for wife beating, honor killings and female genital mutilation. That is sharia and those are the rules where she comes from. She never leaves the house without the Islamic head-covering. Which is her statement that she supports all of that and intends to make it The American Way. But do certain American women know...

Please answer the title question with as many points as you can come up with. What interpersonal dynamics and actions would make the husband the happiest? Additionally, what would the ideal husband be like, and how should he treat his wife?

9.) Be happy to see him. Free him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him. Listen to him. 10.) You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first — remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours. 11.) Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to...

Here’s the deal: My 8 month old computer has been shipped off to the black hole to be “fixed.” It had developed a “ghost screen,” diagnosed by HP computer geeks after hours-long dialog with Raj, my own personal computer geek. No fix available, needs it’s screen replaced. So here I am, working on a 7 year old computer, which is about 1096 in human terms, that responds so slowly that I could create diamonds waiting for it. My ADD brain does not deal well with this so until further notice, I really will be on sabbatical with quick links/pics/or re-runs.Here’s...

Others took notice of her flair for activism and encouraged her to participate in the Occupy Wall Street movement as “Sister Occupy,” which she did, attending protests in a habit and long black dress. Sister Kate told HuffPost that assuming the “nun” identity was not simply a middle finger to a government falsely declaring one thing as another, but a nod to images she’d long associated sisterhood and radical activism
