Ed Perlmutter released his first campaign ad yesterday, using two “Republicans” — Chad and Deanne Stodden — who support him because he did his job as a Congressman, helping line up a passport for a military wife. The problem is a review of these “Republicans” donation records reveal them to be anything but. According to the Secretary of State’s website, Deanne Stodden has made three donations to Colorado candidates — all Democrats. She donated $500 to Bill Ritter in 2009 and a total of $1500 to Tom Mowles in two donations in 2010, who was a Democrat public trustee candidate...

Dem Rep. Ed Perlmutter slapped GOP challenger Ryan Frazier, a veteran, during their debate while arguing over Obamacare. Ed Perlmutter and GOP challenger Ryan Frazier verbally sparred over many issues, from energy and taxes to foreign policy and the national debt. But it was during an exchange over health care, and the health care bill itself, that Perlmutter swats Frazier’s hand. Frazier quickly responded and Perlmutter apologized immediately: “Ed, don’t hit me man, come on!” said Frazier.

Rep. Ed Perlmutter of Colorado inserted a provision into the recently passed House climate change bill that would drum up business for "green" banks, such as the one he has invested in and his family and a political donor helped found in San Francisco. The bill calls on bank regulators to promote green banking and says federal dollars should be used to support energy-efficient home improvements at government-funded housing projects. This is one of the more hotly contested open congressional seats in the country. The split between Republicans, Independents and democrats in this district is roughly split equally three ways at 33% each.
