Jaguar Land Rover’s suppliers have been warned that car production may not resume until November as the fallout from a devastating cyber attack grows. The company’s factory lines have already been paralysed for two weeks after hackers compromised its computer systems, a situation that has forced bosses to temporarily send thousands of plant workers home. But with the crisis now in its third week, senior insiders are understood to have told suppliers that production could be knocked out for another seven. One person briefed on the situation said senior JLR figures were divided on how long the shutdown would drag...

Prominent opinion columnist and editor Karen Attiah has been fired from The Washington Post over a series of posts she wrote following the murder of Charlie Kirk. Attiah, 39, said she was sacked last week over the 'unacceptable social media posts' in the wake of the conservative commentator's assassination in Utah. One read: 'Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.' Another of the posts, on social media platform Bluesky, said: 'Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face...

A transgender author fired from writing a prestigious comic book after belittling Charlie Kirk's murder has now mocked the late conservative star's appearance. Gretchen Felker-Martin took to her Patreon crowdfunding website to defend writing '[I] hope the bullet's OK' after Kirk's murder last Wednesday. She wrote: 'I had spent years smelling traces of the poison fumes he left in his wake, seeing his sneering face, his mouth full of teeth like baby corns and gums like congealed aspic.' Felker-Martin - who previously spoke of her desire to slit Harry Potter author JK Rowling's throat over the novelist's views on transgender...

President Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday evening that he was "looking at names" when asked if he'd revoke the visas of foreigners living in America who have celebrated Charlie Kirk's death. "We haven't [starting revoking visas], but we are looking at names," Trump said. "We don't like that. That's not right." He added, "We wouldn't celebrate if something happened on their side. And we don't. These are sick people. These are really deranged people."

The halt to production at Jaguar Land Rover has been extended again as it grapples the impact of a cyber attack, with a trade union demanding a COVID-style furlough scheme for workers affected in the supply chain. There have so far been 12 days of costly inactivity as attempts to recover vital systems continue. Earlier this week, Monday had been slated as a possible day for manufacturing to restart but that has now been put back until Wednesday at least. The disruption is not only affecting output at JLR's factories but its supply chain too, with thousands of jobs threatened....

Former Gawker editor Elizabeth Spiers unloaded in the Nation what may be the most caustic postmortem on Charlie Kirk found anywhere in media so far — comparing the slain Turning Point founder to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbles and labeling Kirk “an unrepentant racist, transphobe, homophobe, and misogynist.” The latter name calling appeared in the lead paragraph alone of the 1000-word essay under the headline: “Charlie Kirk’s Legacy Deserves No Mourning.” Quoting gracious comments by California Gov. Gavin Newsom about the slain father of two, Spiers wrote, “There is no requirement to take part in this whitewashing campaign, and refusing to...

Charlie Kirk's suspected assassin shared messages detailing the aftermath of the killing via an online chatroom, authorities said. Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested on Thursday after allegedly killing the 31-year-old conservative activist as he spoke at a university event in Utah. Authorities said he inscribed messages on bullets referring to internet culture and anti-fascist sentiments before firing the shot that killed Kirk on Wednesday. A roommate told officers that Robinson discussed the engravings and his movements after the killing on an online chat room, authorities said. It is thought he used the website Discord, which is also gaming platform. It...

The US Air Force is looking to acquire two Tesla Cybertrucks — not for transportation, but to use as missile targets during precision testing and training. According to contracting documents reviewed by The War Zone, the Air Force Test Centre (AFTC) wants the vehicles because of the possibility that “unspecified adversaries” could deploy similar models in the near future. The Cybertrucks are part of a larger order of 33 target vehicles to be delivered to the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, alongside sedans, pickups, SUVs, and bongo trucks, though without specific brand requirements for other types. “Market research...

Did Jalen Hurts, Travis Kelce, Nick Bosa, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Malik Nabers, Jordan Love, and other NFL stars each donate $300,000 to Charlie Kirk's family? No, that's not true: Facebook posts claiming that these American football players reacted to the killing of Kirk on September 10, 2025, with big donations and statements of support are generated by AI tools. Websites and Facebook pages promoting these fake stories are targeting an American audience, but published from Vietnam. The claims originated on a series of articles on fake websites, including this article (archived here) published on feji.io on September 11, 2025,...

A zookeeper was eaten alive by lions in front of horrified tourists, who watched as the big cats chewed through his flesh to the bone, according to reports and stomach-churning videos. Veteran zookeeper Jian Rangkasamee, 59, was attacked early Wednesday when he stepped out of his jeep to clear trash off the floor of the animal’s open enclosure at Safari World In Bangkok in Thailand‘s capital, according to Viral Press. Panicked visitors screamed as they helplessly watched the lions pin him down and tear at him with their teeth. The first lion “was about [30 feet] away, then slowly approached...

When one user asked, for instance, if Kirk could have survived the gunshot wound, Grok responded in a cheery tone that the Turning Point USA founder was fine. "Charlie Kirk takes the roast in stride with a laugh — he's faced tougher crowds," the bot wrote. "Yes, he survives this one easily." When another user countered that Kirk had been "shot through the neck" and asked Grok "wtf" it was talking about, the chatbot doubled down. "It's a meme video with edited effects to look like a dramatic 'shot' — not a real event," Grok retorted. "Charlie Kirk is fine;...

I'm looking for a text to speech app so I can convert novels I have in text form to audio. I listen to all my books on audio now and about all new novels are in audio form. But I'd like to read some old books that are not available in audio. I know they have excellent programs for this but I'm looking for an independent one that doesn't require internet connection and that I don't have to renew each year. Any suggestions? Hopefully something affordable.

There’s a reason why the J6 Committee deleted the records of their activity, an angle missed by most. When you understand what they hid and why they did it, you then understand why current Speaker of The House Mike Johnson will not go near the subject. The J6 Committee used interfaces with the NSA database and pre-existing portals with aligned DHS Social Media databases (including Twitter, see prior “Twitter Files”), as research and evidence gathering mechanisms for their investigations. The J6 targets were identified through a collaboration between the legislative research group and the FBI. [That’s unlawful by the way...

Online safety watchdogs have found that AI chatbots posing as popular celebrities are having troubling conversations with minors. Topics range from flirting to simulated sex acts — wildly inappropriate conversations that could easily a real person a well-deserved spot on a sex offender registry, but which aren't resulting in so much as a slap on the wrist for billion-dollar tech companies. According to a new report, flagged by the Washington Post and produced by the nonprofits ParentsTogether Action and Heat Initiative, found that Character.AI, one of the most popular platforms of its kind, is hosting countless chatbots modeled after celebrities...

A cyber group known as “Purgatory” is behind a terrifying spree of AI-enhanced swatting calls on college campuses — and experts urge authorities to catch up to “internet speed” to stop it. Between Aug. 21 and Aug. 25, at least 10 universities across the US were thrown into chaos after fake active shooter calls sent armed federal and local law enforcement agencies to lockdown campuses, launching students into full-blown panic. The calls have since been linked to Purgatory, a group of cybercriminals who use AI tools to replicate sounds of screaming and gunfire while on the phone with local authorities,...
