Col Allen West starts off the interview by saying that he and others in the know have known since 2009 or 2010 that Bowe Bergdahl was a deserter. He was not a POW and they knew the circumstances including non-disclosure agreements that members of his platoon had been forced to sign. West says this whole episode was not about a swap, it was about a release of five senior Taliban members. In regards to the non-disclosure statements, West says “you can simply order a soldier to sign something, but now that this has been, you know, but now that this...

Just watched FOX & Friends and Col Allen West was on live and stated that he will no longer fight for the FL D18 seat. (paraphrasing) He stated that even though they found problems with the way the vote count was handled he said it is not about him but is about what is best for the people of FL D18 so he conceds the seat to Pat Murphy. I have a feeling we have not seen the last of Col West. Thanks for your service to our country Col West.

Is the media afraid of Obama?View Larger Allen West By Neal Boortz Alan West says that the media needs to stop being afraid of standing up to Obama. I’m thinking that Col. West has this wrong. There are two dynamics going on here. One is that elements of the DC and NYC press corps (pronounced corpse) are in love with Obama, not afraid of him. Don’t forget that Evan Thomas of Newsweek referred to Herr Ruler as “sort of a God.” Remember also Terry Moran of ABC news who told us that Obama is so hugely wonderful and amazing that he...

South Florida Congressman Allen West has invited his colleagues to a Capitol Hill briefing that promises to reveal the “infiltration” of the Muslim Brotherhood and thousands of its allies throughout the United States. The briefing set for Monday springs from a report by the Citizens for National Security, a Boca Raton-based group that claims extensive expertise on defense, intelligence and terrorism. “The report identifies the major religious organizations in the United States that have stemmed from the Muslim Brotherhood, including 501©(3) charities, religious groups, community centers, schools and similar offshoots from primary organizations that it controls,” West told fellow House...

U.S. Rep.-elect Allen West, R-Plantation, is going with an outsider critic of Washington, D.C., as his top staffer and an insider who knows how the Capitol works as his No. 2 aide. West tapped one of South Florida's most prominent conservative voices, radio talk show host Joyce Kaufman, as his chief of staff. “Joyce gets South Florida politics better than most people,” said Josh Grodin, who managed West’s successful election campaign and will become deputy chief of staff. Grodin said the two jobs are the only hiring decisions West has made so far. He was elected one week ago, defeating...

The Florida Democratic Party has offered to pay to protect Republican congressional candidate Allen West from identity theft because it sent out a mailer featuring his Social Security number. West, a retired Army colonel and YouTube sensation running against Rep. Ron Klein, was hit with a tax lien — since paid — in 2005, and the state party attacked him for it and other financial problems in a mailer sent out to 22nd District voters over the weekend. The piece featured a photo of an IRS document showing the tax lien — and while West’s address was blacked out, his...

We have written before on congressional candidate Col. Allen West (here and here). Well, thank God he's back. He is running again for Florida's 22nd District seat against his old opponent of November 2008, Ron Klein. It's a district that leans Democrat but had a Republican Congressman for 14 years until Democrat Ron Klein won that seat in 2006. This is a few months old but remains a must-see little video of an excellent speech Col. West gave in October '09. If you like what you see and hear, jump over to his campaign site and give something to a...

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Army’s investigation of an officer accused of crossing the line in an attempt to get information from an Iraqi detainee is generating a grass-roots protest among some Americans who say the safety of troops trumps any temporary violation of interrogation rules. Army Lt. Col. Allen B. West, who is assigned to the 4th Infantry Division’s 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment, in Tikrit, Iraq, stands accused of actions that occurred Aug. 20, at a detainee holding site in Taji, Iraq. Some members of Congress, meanwhile, are asking whether those rules may not be too strict in...
