U.S. Capitol cops and DC Metropolitan Police officers called rioters 'terrorists', attacked Republicans who have downplayed January 6 and recalled the 'medieval battle' they faced during the first hearing of the select committee on Tuesday. Officers Harry Dunn, Aquilino Gonell, Michael Fanone and Daniel Hodges gave harrowing testimony to the panel of seven Democrats and two Republicans - Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger - describing how they feared the rioters would kill them and criticized the treatment of their colleagues. They also told the panel how they were confronted by people waving MAGA flags, Trump supporters saying President Biden didn't...

A Capitol Police officer killed last week when a man armed with a knife rammed his car into two officers at a barricade outside the Capitol does not appear to have been stabbed, slashed or shot, a police official told The Associated Press on Monday. Officer William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran of the force, died Friday after the driver rammed into the barricade near the Capitol. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Noah Green, crashed into the officers and the barrier, then exited the car armed with a knife and charged at another officer before the officer fatally shot him,...

Several Senate Democrats are pushing to boost federal revenue by taxing certain capital gains that are passed down after death. Traditionally, unrealized capital gains have not been taxed, allowing wealthy individuals to transfer stocks, bonds and real estate investments to their children and grandchildren without the recipients being taxed. Under current law, heirs don’t have to pay tax on the capital gains that were accrued by an asset or investment before they received it. They only have to pay capital gains taxes on an inherited asset after they sell it, and they only have to do so for the amount...

Words matter. That’s why nearly every left-of-center media outlet is consistently using the word “insurrection” or even the more inflammatory “coup attempt” to refer to what happened at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. What they are doing is methodically intentional, and the reason is crystal clear. They want to paint a dark, ominous picture of the American political landscape, one that firmly places anyone who questioned the 2020 election or even supported former President Donald Trump as not just political adversaries, but enemies and even outlaws who want to overthrow a democratically elected government. Imagine, the people who all...

Nancy Pelosi took hypocrisy to new heights during the memorial for the police officer who died after the Capitol riots — and that’s saying something, for her. The newfound faux reverence for law enforcement from the House speaker and her “defund the police” comrades after cheering on and inciting violence against cops most of last year is grotesque. Despite Pelosi’s nauseating insincerity as she presided over the two-day commemoration of Brian Sicknick, the dignity and grace of his grieving parents and police colleagues mercifully elevated the honors high above tawdry political opportunism. Because, of course, what else is it but...

That's how Neofeudal systems collapse: the tax donkeys and debt-serfs finally rebel and start demanding the $50 trillion river of capital take a new course. The Great American Middle Class has stood meekly by while the New Nobility stripmined $50 trillion from the middle and working classes. As this RAND report documents, $50 trillion has been siphoned from labor and the lower 90% of the workforce to the New Nobility and their technocrat lackeys who own the vast majority of the capital: Trends in Income From 1975 to 2018. Why has the Great American Middle Class meekly accepted their new...

Contee III told a House committee that Officer Jeffrey Smith, a 12-year veteran of his department, had killed himself on Jan. 15 and that Officer Howard Liebengood, a 15-year veteran of the Capitol Police, had also died by suicide days after the attack. The Police Department declined to give a cause for Officer Smith’s death or say whether it was connected to the riot. His family could...

While there is yet much to learn about what happened at the Capitol on January 6, some important facts are known beyond a reasonable doubt: 1. Most protesters who entered the Capitol encountered no resistance, and some were directed by police on where to go. 2. Some protesters who led the storming of the Capitol were leftist agitators. 3. The riot was planned, and foreknowledge of this event was reported to the FBI, Capitol police, NYPD, and even the Joint Terrorism Taskforce. This raises the following questions: 1. If the police allowed protesters into the Capitol because they were overwhelmed,...
