    My Immigration Proposal-Refined
The Bill currently moving its way through Congress is a disaster, I hope you agree.
I cannot believe they are actually going to grant legal status to those who have been here only a year! How do we know what their backgrounds are? How do we know they are not criminals? If a compromise must be made I think bottom line that anyone who entered the country illegally after 9/11 should automatically be disqualified from becoming legal.
I have a Multi-Point Proposal that I believe would solve the problem. At the very least it is better than the horrible Bill thats going around.
I hope you take the time to read the proposal. Feel free to use any of this as you see fit.

    1. Legalize those who can prove they have had continuous employment for at least 6 years. Employer would have to come forward and verify employment and pay a fine of $2,000 per employee for every year they were employed, capped at $10,000. The fine would be paid to the State the company resides in not the Feds. They will have a waiting period of three years to make sure the border security plan is working, and the head of the household would not have to return to their home country(this would be unfair to irish immigrants and others from overseas.
    2. In order to continue being eligible for citizenship in addition to the 6 years employment not one person in the family will have been convicted of any criminal offense and the children must not be registered as gang members. Any gang affiliation will lead to immediate deportation. Applicant must be able to read and write in English and the children must be doing well in school.
    3. All border security proposals must be included in this bill and must be proven to be effective within 3 years or the amnesty provision is off the table.
    4. A change in the law that states that a child born here is automatically an American citizen. That will no longer be the case, thus helping to prevent anchor babies from ever being an issue again.
    5. A guest worker program for Farm workers only, not leading to citizenship and the Farm must provide housing.
    6. For every Illegal made Legal there will be a concurrent reduction in the number of Legal Immigrants into this country. For instance if 10 Mexicans become Legal, 10 fewer Mexicans will be able to immigrate to the country under the Legal Immigration system. That goes for every nationality.
    7. The number of Legal Immigrants is reduced from the current 1 Million to 300,000 per year to reduce overpopulation growth.
    8. Skill sets will take precedence over family, and Chain migration will be ended in 1 year, not 8 like the current bill allows.
    9. Nationalities that were heaviest represented in the last 30 years will be reduced and those countries underrepresented will be increased.
    10. National IDs instituted that will enable employers to easily identify Legal Immigrants and American citizens. Heavy fines for employers who continue to hire Illegals.
    11. Declare English the Official Language of the United States.
    12. Put in writing a specific ban on any future mass illegal alien amnesty.

This proposal is tougher in many ways, but would not require the main income earner to leave the country first, and would shorten the waiting period to 3 years, and the fine would be borne by the employer, not the illegal who can barely afford it. If businesses balk at paying the fine then we have proof that they can readily find employees that are not illegal. If their employees are so valuable paying a fine should not be a problem vs. going out of business.
We need to limit the number of illegals given amnesty-a 6 year requirement is extremely reasonable.

I have a better plan than the idiots in DC. It would involve a more limited
legalization with far stricter new rules for immigration.

    1. Legalize those who can prove they have had continuous employment for at
least 7 years. Employer would have to come forward and verify employment and pay a fine of $5,000 per employee for every year they were employed. The fine would be paid to the State the company resides in not the Feds. They will have a waiting period of three years to make sure the border security plan is working.
    2. In order to continue being eligible for citizenship in addition to the 7 years
employment not one person in the family will have been convicted of any
criminal offense and the children must not be registered as gang members. Any gang affiliation will lead to immediate deportation. Applicant must be able to read and write in English and the children must be doing well in school.
    3. All border security proposals must be included in this bill and must be proven to be effective within 3 years or the amnesty provision is off the table.
    4. A change in the law that states that a child born here is automatically an
American citizen. That will no longer be the case.
    5. A guest worker program for Farm workers only, not leading to citizenship and the Farm must provide housing.
    6. For every Illegal made Legal there will be a concurrent reduction in the
number of Legal Immigrants into this country. For instance if 10 Mexicans
become Legal, 10 fewer Mexicans will be able to immigrate to the country under the Legal Immigration system. That goes for every nationality.
    7. The number of Legal Immigrants is reduced from the current 1 Million to
300,000 per year to reduce overpopulation growth.
    8. Skill sets will take precedence over family, and Chain migration will be ended.
    9. Nationalities that were heaviest represented in the last 30 years will be
reduced and those countries underrepresented will be increased.
    10. National IDs instituted that will enable employers to easily identify Legal
Immigrants and American citizens. Heavy fines for employers who continue to
    hire Illegals.
    11. Declare English the Official Language of the United States.
    12. Put in writing a specific ban on any future mass illegal alien amnesty.

Thats my plan. Not all will be able to become citizens. Those that cannot will be
given 90 days to leave the country. If they do not and we catch them they will
not be able to reenter this country for any reason, even to visit.

Like I said, talking through both sides of his mouth.
Who does this clown think he's fooling?
An amnesty is an amnesty, no matter how you spin it. And what this will do is increase pressure on the border, no matter what we throw in their way.

    What he should have said:
I am the President of the United States, a sovereign nation of laws, and even though we are a nation of immigrants they must abide by our laws to enter this country. It is an affront to everyone who entered legally and those waiting patiently to enter legally to legitimize those who cut in line before them.
Therefore, I am giving all illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States 90 days to leave the country without penalty. Those who remain and are caught and detained by Homeland Security will not be allowed to apply legally to immigrate to this country.
After this 90 day period, we will be conducting sweeps of all day laborers in conjunction with local law enforcement and all will be immediately deported and fingerprinted. Businesses will be randomly searched for employment of illegal aliens and if any are found there will be a $100,000 fine per illegal and the president of the business will be jailed for a period of no less than a year.
All illegals currently in our prison system (25% of all federal Prisoners are illegal aliens), will be immediately deported to their home countries.
Our legal immigration number will be reduced to 350,000 per year to reduce population overgrowth and stabilize our population at around 300 million people. Chain immigration will no longer be allowed. There will be a percentage of legal immigration geared towards those with needed skills in the sciences, medical profession, etc.
The border will be secured with a double wall and an increase in border agents by 5,000 agents.
I will also introduce legislation declaring English to be the official language of the United States. We are a nation made up of hundreds of different nationalities and ethnicities. A common language is one of the most important things that binds us together as one nation. As Teddy Roosevelt once said:

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant
who comes here in good faith, becomes an American and assimilates himself
to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it
is an outrage to discriminate against any such man be cause of creed, or
birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming
in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...

    There can be no
divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something
else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the
American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the
English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
    loyalty to the American people."

    Theodore Roosevelt 1907

It is with this sense of a common goal to live free and succeed in a fair and honorable society that I bring these proposals to the American people. No longer can we tolerate the legitimization of rampant illegality that is undermining our storied immigration system. The war against terror also demands that our borders be secure. Although I can understand what has driven these illegal immigrants to endure hardship and danger in order to enter this country for work to provide for their children, it is more important to remember that there are Americans who also need to provide for their children, and legal immigrants who entered this country through the proper legal channels and their needs must come first.
To those illegal immigrants who must now go home and I say to them to show the same passion they showed during street protests here in the US and take to the streets in Mexico and Central America to show the Governments in their own countries that they want to be given the chance to work for a decent wage and to be able to educate their children so that they may have a better life and the chance to increase their countries economic and living conditions.
The United States remains committed to immigration as the greatest asset we have in ensuring the economic vitality of this country far into the future, and that which sustains us, enhances our culture, and brings bright minds and fertile imaginations into our society to keep it fresh and innovative.
All we ask, and now demand, is that those who choose to immigrate to this great country do so the right way, legally.
    Good night.

Wow, that web site is unbelievable. I didn't know there were mexican nazis. More putrid scum that we allowed to crawl over the border.

Isn't it odd that politicians pander to latinos so obviously while ignoring the rest of us who outnumber them? Time to organize more actively before its too late:

    >Arnold won't pander to latino organizations and has said he will meet with Governors of States hardest hit by illegal immigration to force the Feds to action. It may or may not work but at least the issue will be on the table.
Care to make a wager on the bold portion?
I believe (R)nuld will "force" the Feds by mandating giving AMNESTY to all the current Illegal Infiltrators!
Oh, what a great idea...worked so WELL before.<

I certainly hope he doesnt do that, although in his first press conference he mentioned a bill he favors by John mcCain, which I believe asks for a worker permit for illegals if they currently have a job and no criminal record. Basically, they would be able to come here and leave with what amounts to a visa. Supposedly it isnt an amnesty because they wont be granted citizenship. This is important because an illegal alien amnesty for 8 million illegals really means an additional 32 million at least because of family reunification and we all know mexicans tend to have large families.

What I would like to see is a bill banning any mass illegal alien amnesty at any time. And put the damn military on the border.

Congrats Ahnold! I am very pleased with the results. I know he doesn't jibe 100% with everyones views here but its a win-win situation. Arnold won't pander to latino organizations and has said he will meet with Governors of States hardest hit by illegal immigration to force the Feds to action. It may or may not work but at least the issue will be on the table. It also leaves McClintock as Senator which is also good..................................

Exactly! What the heck is going on in this country? Can I be honest to you guys. I'm new here, a friend of mine turned me onto this place and I'm not really a total conservative. I consider myself a moderate (I'm Pro-choice, Pro-environment, Pro legalizing marijuana, against tax breaks for the rich), however I usually feel more comfortable voting Republican because I thought I could count on them to uphold this country's culture and be strong on law and order. I am completely digusted at many current Republicans pandering to hispanics and special interest groups. If I closed my eyes I would think Bill 'The Zipper' Clinton was still in office and not shrub. I certainly hope there is a Republican with a spine that will run against him in the Primary. Maybe McClintock will run for Prez after getting spanked by Ahnold-I'd vote for him in a second...............................

This is just a fraction of the irresponsible actions taken by members of Congress. Many Republicans are just as guilty as Democrats when it comes to pandering to the illegal alien lobby. Every member of Free Republic should belong to F.A.I.R., the Federation of American Immigration Reform and help put a stop to this madness.........
