It's my birthday. There's a good possibility that adult beverages are involved. I have been laughing since 3:00 am yesterday. For whatever reason I started searching YouTube to see the lib reaction to President-Elect Donald J Trump's win. Riots, Trump Tower "protected" with barriers and dump trucks. "Protests" in major cities. Except just a few. Like someone set them up. Just saying. Then I switched to MSNBC for Morning Joe for real time reaction. It is stunning. There is no disguising their disgust and disbelief. Sweet birthday present for me but Jeez Louise - this is a news station? Dang!...

Welcome to my nightmare: I am not leaving FR. I may be kicked off but I'm a monthly so probably for a few days I'm good to go ... ;-) Alternate titles for this post. "Test - Do not respond to this post", "I could use a hand ...", "A moose bit my sister while I was in the shower" Get used to my smiley - its my trademark. In even the worst situations I try to see the lighter side, its a coping mechanism I suspect. I've been doing a lot of coping lately. This will be a close...

From an article linked: George Zimmerman studied self defense, including Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground Law and got an A in the course, his college instructor told a courtroom today, appearing to contradict Zimmerman's claims shortly after he killed Trayvon Martin. Capt. Alexis Francisco Carter testified today that he taught Zimmerman criminal litigation back in 2010 at Seminole State College. Carter, who is now an Army prosecutor, called Zimmerman one of his "better students," noting that Zimmerman received an A for his work. The testimony is aimed at undermining Zimmerman's credibility because he has denied prior knowledge of self defense...

The following works: ---------------------- Forms & Java - "Back Button" -------- Successfully loads...

(AP) In this undated file handout photo provided by his family, Genarlow Wilson is shown in a portrait... > ATLANTA (AP) - District Attorney David McDade has handed out some 35 copies of a video of teenagers having sex at a party. McDade says Georgia's open-records law leaves him no choice but to release the footage because it was evidence in one of the state's most turbulent cases - that of Genarlow Wilson, a young man serving 10 years in prison for having oral sex with a girl when they were teenagers. McDade's actions have opened him up to accusations...

Anyone over 40 can remember a time when you could count the available TV channels on the fingers of one hand. Now they come in the hundreds. But that's nothing compared to the Internet, with its millions - is it billions yet? - of sites that can do just about anything but wash the dinner dishes. Online, you can find any fact you need, and any lie you'd prefer to believe is true. You can make new friends and keep up with your old ones. You can buy and sell anything, make phone calls, import and export photos and movies,...

NEW YORK (AP) - There's nobody nice on this Christmas list: snowman stabbers, Grinch snatchers, wreath-robbing weasels. 'Tis the season for strange crimes by even stranger people, with police blotters expanding faster than a 6-year-old's wish list of gifts. David Allen Rodgers, 42, was arrested Dec. 3 for driving while intoxicated - at the wheel of a float during the annual Christmas parade in Anderson, S.C. According to witnesses, Rodgers sped down Main Street in the Steppin' Out Dance Studio float with 19 people aboard, ran a red light and led police on a 3-mile chase. Police said that when...

They enter the massage parlors as undercover detectives. They leave as satisfied customers. In Spotsylvania County, as part of a campaign by the sheriff's office to root out prostitution in the massage parlor business, detectives have been receiving sexual services from "masseuses." During several visits to Moon Spa on Plank Road last month, detectives allowed women to perform sexual acts on them on four occasions and once left a $350 tip, according to court papers. Spotsylvania Sheriff Howard D. Smith said that the practice is not new and that only unmarried detectives are assigned to such cases. Most prostitutes are...

HARLINGEN, Texas (AP) - Several times a day, a chain-link gate rolls open and dozens of illegal immigrants stroll out of the U.S. Border Patrol station here, blinking into the hot Texas sun as they look for taxis to the bus station and a ticket out of town. Each holds a piece of paper that Spanish-speakers call a "permiso" - permission, courtesy of the U.S. government, to roam freely anywhere in the country. Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, more than 118,000 undocumented migrants who were caught after sneaking over the nation's borders have walked right out of custody...

By DAVID BROOKS Published: October 30, 2004 Columnist Page: David Brooks Forum: Discuss This Column E-mail: dabrooks@nytimes.com The nuisance is back! Remember when John Kerry told Matt Bai of The Times Magazine that he wanted to reduce the terrorists to a nuisance? Kerry vowed to mitigate the problem of terrorism until it became another regrettable and tolerable fact of life, like gambling, organized crime and prostitution. That was the interview in which he said Sept. 11 "didn't change me much at all." He said it confirmed in him a sense of urgency, "of doing the things we thought we needed...
