President Barack Obama doesn’t go anywhere without his TelePrompter. The textbook-sized panes of glass holding the president’s prepared remarks follow him wherever he speaks. Resting on top of a tall, narrow pole, they flank his podium during speeches in the White House’s stately parlors. They stood next to him on the floor of a manufacturing plant in Indiana as he pitched his economic stimulus plan. They traveled to the Department of Transportation this week and were in the Capitol Rotunda last month when he paid tribute to Abraham Lincoln in six-minute prepared remarks. Obama’s reliance on the teleprompter is unusual...

BAGHDAD — Hundreds of terrified Christian families have fled Mosul to escape extremist attacks that have increased despite months of U.S. and Iraqi military operations to secure the northern Iraqi city, political and religious officials said Saturday. Some 3,000 Christians have fled the city over the past week alone in a "major displacement," said Duraid Mohammed Kashmoula, the governor of northern Iraq's Ninevah province. He said most have left for churches, monasteries and the homes of relatives in nearby Christian villages and towns. "The Christians were subjected to abduction attempts and paid ransom, but now they are subjected to a...

Well, after about a million debates, and political beauty pagents, I still am not going head-over-heels for any candidate. I play fantasy sports and thought, why not fantasy politics? Pick your own team! Only one rule (more of a guideline than a rule): the people on the team must still be alive (other wise it would be all Ronaldus Magnus!). This will limit the number of cartoon characters, but this is the steep price of fun. My shortlist are all commentators: Pres - el Rushbo; VP - Ann Coulter ( I liked them on 1/2 hour news hour); Sec State...

I have been following the Republican candidates for President. I am not impressed, overall. May people ahve their favorites, of course, but there is no passion for any of them. There is always "He is great!....but". Usually in the social area. Today my favorite, Fred Thompson ducked the Washington Press corps. I thought "Big deal. He wasn't going to get a fair shake from these folks." Then I got to thinking (always dangerous) WWRD(What Would Ronnie Do?). He would take the bull by the horns and gave a question and answer session that would have changed minds an made front...

The world economy is currently running on a resource that is controlled by our enemies. This threatens to leave us prostrate. It must change—and the good news is that it can change, quickly. Using portions of the hundreds of billions of petrodollars they are annually draining from our economy, Middle Easterners have established training centers for terrorists, paid bounties to the families of suicide bombers, and funded the purchase of weapons and explosives. Oil revenues underwrite new media outlets that propagandize hatefully against the United States and the West. They pay for more than 10,000 radical madrassahs set up around...
