The average American generally doesn't pay attention to politics and the daily minutiae like you or I do but they suddenly started paying attention when the stimulus bill was passed because people are genuinely scared. Talk to anyone and they'll tell you how panic is slowly setting in and they have a friend or relative who had just lost their job or had to sell their house because they just can't survive in this economy. When it comes to global warming, the Gore Effect refers to the uncanny ability of global warmingist's to plan events and have the weather turn dreadful with massive snow storms occurring. The nightmare first month and a half of the Obama administration is over and we've seen an omen of things yet to come. Reckless spending on a scale never seen before? Check. The political left in this country is well-organized and is better than conservatives at staying on point as a generally cohesive unit. While conservatives have an annoying tendency to sell out core beliefs in the spirit of compromise, liberals home in on an adversarial person or position and focus all their energy in denigrating or demeaning that person or position. The audacity and speed with which Obama railroaded the stimulus bill through Congress took Republicans by surprise. It shouldn't have; it was a logical extension of his campaign tactics. Like the spear-carrying soldiers of Ethiopia, overwhelmed by Mussolini's tanks and poison gas in 1936, the Republicans simply don't know what hit them in last year's election.

Liberals fear states becoming more powerful; because they know that some of the precious laws they hold dear would be overturned quickly starting with abortion and moving on to gay marriage and welfare. Roe V. Wade was thrust on the states and gave them no recourse but to comply with a practice that many people feel is abhorrent. Given the opportunity to overturn Roe V. Wade at the state level would mean large swaths of the Midwest and South would be anti-abortion zones and organizations like Planned Parenthood would be ousted within months.

We're starting to see a disturbing trend here; Obama will use fear as a tool to pass his agenda as was painfully evident during the stimulus debate. Now he's playing on the basest of human emotions: envy. In a time when many are hurting financially--a new paradigm for many--Obama and his allies are verbally crucifying those who worked hard to establish themselves, got themselves educated and used their wits to become successful. Many people have a loathing of anyone who makes more than them or is in a higher position in life and Obama is shamefully playing on that.

We're stuck, ya'll and it doesn't seem as though we have a single check or balance anywhere in sight. We could have made a stand if Specter, Snowe and Collins had any guts and voted against the stimulus but instead they enabled the administration and now, like a crack head, the Dems are feeling it and spending insane amounts of money we'll never pay back. Our money. And please don't kid yourself, taxes on "the rich" will not pay for anything close to what we've spent. The "rich" are a figment of Obama's imagination and become less wealthy everyday.

There's no way else to spin in but to say that Fox is dominating. we hear that Rachel Maddow is making a move or the Olberwoman is rampaging but these numbers are so overwhelmingly in favor of Fox News that anything they say will sound ridiculous. They beat CNN and MSNBC even when you combine their viewers.

But this is something different; this is not a clear cut issue of racism or gay marriage. No, this is about the right of state executives to do what's best for their constituents even if the federal government usurps as much authority as possible. Governors Jindal, Palin and Sanford see that in the long run, parts of the stimulus will cost them enormous sums of money while parts of the bill will actually, you know, stimulate the economy.
