Wife, son and I are doing the permanent RV life. TBH, the hardest part has been the downsizing; you never truly understand just hom much you accumulate over 30 years of marriage until you do something like this. As it stands, we are investigating mobile internet services and are seriously considering Starlink

Just recently made the switch to iPhone and am pleasantly surprised. The learning of new tech always interests me ... however... I have found that browsers on the iPhone, regardless of which one I use, are not very mobile-friendly. Text appears very small unless I turn it sideways and do not have obvious options to resize. Any help in this regard would be very much appreciated.

My daughter is an avid history buff and has, over the past few years, done quite a bit of reading on the Nazi concentration camps. I would love to take her to some of these sites some day, but for now all I can do is get some first-hand pics of someone else's visit. If anyone has been to any of the concentration camp memorial sites and has pics they could share it would be greatly appreciated.

In light of the data issues that have been publicized as of late, I am seriously looking to dump Gmail, Fakebook, et. al., would like some suggestions for other email services that I would have less concern about my data being taken. I already use DuckDuckGo, so that part is good.

I have a quandry; anyone who is Harley-apparel wise, please help. A friend I have had since childhood had a treasured possession as a kid which was a real leather Harley Davidson ball cap style hat. I want to get him an identical hat for Christmas but have had a hard time finding the same hat. Any help would be appreciated. I have a picture of said hat, but, alas, I have never figured out how to post pics. Help with that would be awesome too.

PLEASE HELP: I recently suffered a BSOD event on my other computer, which happens to be the one my children use for schoolwork, reports and the like - I had to re-install Windows XP, which solved the problem, but now nothing wants to work (internet, screen laggy and can't access old files). I can see a lot of what I had on the computer before this problem, but cannot access it and cannot connect to the internet at all now... I realize this may be an involved process, but could someone please help?

I am currently considering relocating to the San Antonio area as my company is doing some shuffling with business that leads me in that direction. If anyone who is from that area and/or is very familiar with the "topography" or crime/schools/etc of the area, please respond - I have been to the area several times over the years but have never spent any appreciable time exploring.

I jsut yesterday purchased a Dell Studio 17 (S1737) laptop computer with Windows Vista(x64)Home Premium factory installed. Upon starting it for the first time, I went through the usual info entry bits and pieces, and Windows Update wanted to install a bunch of updates... It went through the process quite normally; however, upon restart, Windows BSOD'ed me and the system went through an extensive attempt to do a startup repair... I had to restore Dell factory settings and such and it will now still not allow the updates to work without the BSOD reappearing and having to do the whole...

Just a vanity thread - I have been interested in locating some current photos of the former MCAS(H) Tustin base area located about 2 miles west of I-5 on Red Hill Avenue in Tustin, CA. I served there from 1988-1992 as a member of HMH-462 - Google earth shows some pre-construction demo in the area; however, this was most likely some time ago, as the base went up on the base closure list in 1997. I would be most appreciative if someone that lives in the area could take some pictures of what it looks like now (one of the...

The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials. The long-planned shift in the Defense Department's role in homeland security was recently backed with funding and troop commitments after years of prodding by Congress and outside experts...

As I am somewhat new to doing on-the-ground reporting, and I simply wanted to give these patriots in an out-of-the-way small town their due, their diligence and determination truly struck me today - below 30f, windy and on a busy street corner (Petroleum Street bridge and Front Street). Apparently this particular troop rally has been going on for quite some time (several months), and as I work nights it is quite conceivable that I could miss it (asking for a pass :-) ). Hearing and seeing about these kind of rallies going on in our major metropolitan areas is nothing...

I am having a difficult time figuring out a problem with my laptop (HP pavilion zv 5000). It powers up fine on AC power, but will not run on battery power at all. The control panel says the battery is in good working order, at 100% charge, and I have run the troubleshooter on it several times to no avail. I am hoping that this may be some kind of program thing that has the battery switched off (before you ask I looked - the battery is enabled) because until next week I cannot afford to buy a new battery...

To anyone with a modicum of computer expertise :) I have been having a problem with my computer. It has been crashing a lot lately, and goes to a blue screen with the standard issue less-than-helpful blah blah. What I can tell you is that it says "MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION" and follows with more gobblety-gook (yes, I know - not the most scientific of descriptions) then gives the STOP and specific system address of the exception. I can get more specific if anyone has an idea on how to correct this. THANX!!

In Monday's edition of the NEW YORK SUN, reporter Brian McGuire and contributor R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr., break the first look at the long-anticipated report from Independent Counsel David Barrett, whose investigation lasted 10 year and cost taxpayers $23 million. The SUN outlines the report's details surrounding the alleged illicit activity and cover up that involving former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros before and during his time in the Clinton Administration. The Sun reveals that the Barrett report connects the dots that allege that senior officials of the Clinton Administration hindered investigations by the IRS in both...

Friday, September 10, 2004 We Are So Sorry for 9-11 This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history. After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and “intellectuals” blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade...

(excerpt from mid-article - click link for full article) Stewart said she hadn't given much thought to what her life behind bars would be like when asked how she would handle prison food, fellow inmates and strip searches. "I could do it," she said. "I'm a really good camper. I can sleep on the ground. … There are many, many good people who have gone to prison … look at Nelson Mandela."
