(excerpt from mid-article - click link for full article)

Stewart said she hadn't given much thought to what her life behind bars would be like when asked how she would handle prison food, fellow inmates and strip searches. "I could do it," she said. "I'm a really good camper. I can sleep on the ground. … There are many, many good people who have gone to prison … look at Nelson Mandela."

OMG!! The cheatin', manipulative woman compares her 'plight' to that of Nelson Mandela - not that he's any pillar of virtue, but...

Yup, the left's favorite terrorist wannabe.

Mandela was caught with plans to government buildings in his possession. His intention was to blow up those buildings.

My posting was, with the title I used, intended to draw attention to the statement in the paragraph I utilized. I posted the original article link if anyone chooses to peruse it, but otherwise it suited my purpose.

Yeah. And he (unlike Martha and others) admitted what he intended at his trial, did his time with dignity and apparently even learned some wisdom over the years. I know Mandela is a hard core lefty, but he did not become the dictator I thought he would. He surrendered power, very unusual in Africa. Would that his successors were so wise.

For that stupid remark alone, she needs to have about 5 more years tacked on to her sentence. Neither she nor Mandela are heros.

I agree - you should read about the differences in her demeanor inside and outside the courtroom. She is one of the most manipulative women I have ever seen.

I cannot help but think that she found time to attend a screening of F-9/11. If I was facing jail-time, attending movies would be the last thing on my mind.

I spit Diet Coke from my nostrils when I read that she was like Mandela.

Um, NO!

She's going to be making doilies from rationed toilet paper for her new 'husbands'. And who made the weird shapes with the soap? Making sporks fashionable again? Writing, "Martha Stewart rules" on the latrine wall and getting caught because only she knows how to fashion writing utensils from parsley?

Her prosecution and conviction are an outrage and a government crime of totalitarian proportions.

But because the victim is "unlikable" and votes Dimocrat, it is perfectly OK with you folks.

With all due 'respect', she committed a crime. Yes, she was very good @ what she did and provided comfort and entertainment for many, BUT DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME!!

Well, no. She was let off entirely too easily. 5 months? Her manicure won't even be scuffed by then. House arrest? Big whoop. Unless they make her watch HGTV programming 24/7 in a "Clockwork Orange" type of punishment.

I understand, but there are a couple drawbacks to doing that. I thought I was reading an article about Mandela, which is just a minor drawback. A bigger one is that when someone else goes to post this same article, they will search to see if it's already been posted, and it won't show up in their search, so they'll post it again. I do understand, and what you say makes sense. But I do like the rule that says "use the original title."

She should be forced to watch "Brini Maxwell" shows 24/7.

You Sir, are an idiot. Martha bailed and many "unaware" retail stockholders bit the bullet. She is going to serve time at the Danbury country club for lying to the FBI. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Thank you. Her political leanings have nothing to do with anything. She is an idiot. If you or I had the money she had would you or I put ourselves in a position to go to jail over a few thousand dollars? I think not.

Well Mandela was incarcerated which she is to be. I think is her point?

Now whether or not a suburban American is as tough and able to handle prison as a South African subversive is another matter. I tend to doubt it, but she is right to note that others have been incarerated without completely falling apart.

Anyone in a public corporation at the C-level knows what inside information is and why it is illegal. Capitalism depends on the trust of distributed investors who get really upset when someone swindles them (reacts to information they're not privy to before they can). We have defined that as fraud and a property right violation.

For once, a Rat is indicted of that and now it's the dawn of totalitarianism?

I can't wait to see the "How to spruce up your cell" TV show.

She got off VERY lightly, but the arrogance is still there.
