Houston Texans head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien says he'll take a knee during the national anthem next season with his players to protest racial inequality and police brutality. The NFL has spent the pandemic proceeding as if football will kick off as normal this fall. But despite the three-day virtual draft, despite the mega-hyped, fixed-date schedule release, despite all the public-facing optimism, the truth is this: The NFL isn’t in charge here. COVID-19 is. That’s the conclusion of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institutes for Health and the leading authoritative voice on COVID-19 in America. Speaking to NBC’s Peter King this weekend, Fauci did not mince words: If the country is at the point in September where we are right now, there will be no...

As I waited, I chatted with the folks around me. And contrary to all the fears expressed, they were so nice! I was not harassed or intimidated and was never in fear of my safety even for a moment. These were average everyday people. They were veterans, school teachers, and small business owners and they had come from...

...The now unsealed records expose efforts by Weissmann, and the Enron Task Force he led, to intimidate witnesses and to interfere in the attorney-client relationship of a cooperating witness. Several affidavits unsealed last week catalogued veiled threats made to witnesses the Enron defendants sought to interview. However, because many of the attorneys would speak only off the record to Enron’s attorneys, the courts refused to consider the affidavits sufficient to prove prosecutorial misconduct.

....“The challenge is it goes to the heart of our trust in visual media,” Dr. Matt Turek, head of the media forensics program at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, run by the U.S. Department of Defense, explained. “We’re used to looking at an image or video and putting faith in it -- believing the content of the image or the video.
