Why is it that when a disaster occurs in a foreign country we are THE FIRST! to be there, to help, to act. When something this horrible has happened and is still worsening, where are our friends? Where are our allies? The European countries are writing about it but I haven't seen a story yet about monetary support, volunteer support, or otherwise, come out of a single country.
Destro you are consistently reserved about your opinion of China. Wake up, they are a threat, regardless if they pay heed to Marxism. Isms are not the point of discussion.
China is a threat and that threat is becoming more so each day. Again, at the risk of sounding like a ****ed conspiracy theorist, we are facing a crisis with a country who's military not only outnumbers us but who's resources are further available in this economic environment.

I apologize, I should have made my sarcasm a little more obvious. China Daily is a self proclaimed government newspaper, I hope everyone reads their sources before they take what is said to be true.
China is plenty aware of what our capabilites are and will plan accordingly. However, in the recent weeks of following this story, I have asked myself the question: Would China risk a full frontal war? At the risk of sounding Socratic, that is better answered by another question: can they? Well yes of course they can, they have enough people that a tactical nuclear strike on their military forces would only downsize, not obliterate.
If North Korea joins up with China in the Taiwan Strait then yes, we would strike first to avoid being struck. If it is only China, then the risk isn't as high.
Again, China is on a full-court press to establish themselves as a significant world power. We saw the start of it in economics and now we are seeing the military follow up. They are adding muscle to their word and that is highly dangerous.
"When you are backed against the wall you will use whatever you have at your disposal."
They are not backed against a wall. Maybe if they didn't have the support system they do now. But because of their allies (Japan, US, Australia) they would only resort to that as a last resort. Taiwan is too democratic and reliant on outside help. They are not fools sir.
This is a secular view that actually coincides with Christian doctrine, if that's what you're referring to. The American people at large would agree with this because of its secular orientation.
