Hey to all my PA neighbors...let’s get our red bits together!

My district NY-20 is going to flip back to the R’s. Col. Chris Gibson is sending Scott Murphy down in flames (Murphy won Gillibrand’s seat by 600 votes after Chuckie got her anointed for Senate).

Murphy voted against Obamacare first time around, then flipped. Guess my neighbors didn’t take too kindly to that.

    “Palin’s really biting her tongue.
Palin was graciously deferential to the elder lady [aka, the old biddy].

Yah! Ferraro needed help just sitting up.”

I’m DEFINITELY not a Ferraro fan, but she looks like crap because she’s terminally ill with a blood disease (forget what it’s called). She’s obviously on steroids and not doing well...

What a shock. Charles Krauthammer thought they tied, which means Obama’s ahead, because the next one is on economy and McCain will definitely lose that.

Thinks McCain doesn’t get a bump.

I think the guy’s bright but he’s such an elitist he makes me want to slam my head against the wall. We conservatives have them, too, I guess.

    angcat—

I don’t enjoy post-seasons, ever. Remember my first post about being too wussy to watch this freakin’ debate? (Still have the iPod turned way up.) Same applies to the Red Sox. I guess years of having my hopes raised only to be destroyed took their toll. Even 2004 and 2007 haven’t made me sane again.

And now, to avoid going off topic, let me just tell you why McCain has to appeal to a very narrow band of independents, some female tonight: good girlfriend just told me “I don’t think I can vote for someone with a name like Obama”.

When you’ve got people voting on a prez because they do or don’t like their name, appearance is everything. Intellectual debate doesn’t go very far. McCain has to win on both fronts.

Kinda like betting on a horse because the colors are pink.

Oh hooray the Yanks are also kicking butt. Kick Redsox but and it does not matter anyway!

I may live in NY but I'm a huge Red Sox fan, so...let's just say enjoy the game now because when the season ends you have no team to follow.

You know I say that with the utmost respect for you, my fellow McCain supporter. ;-)

That’s why it’s important for everyone, even in blue states, to vote if they support McCain. The spread on the popular vote needs to be as large as possible.

Oh, don't worry, this blue-stater votes early and often. It's really frustrating here in NY because if you go by county, the vast majority of the state is red. Throw in NY and now you've got blue. Would be nice to turn a deep shade of purple.

Turn it on you will laugh. It is a big joke. McCain is clearly the President. Hillary would have at least made a little competition.

Great, I was in a good mood...thanks for ruining it for me with a mental image of Hillary in a presidential debate. :-)

As a New Yorker I must say I DID NOT VOTE FOR HER.

Thank God I’m not the only one!

I agree on wrapping things up. I have to say, I’d enjoy a landslide election once in a while.

    Republican, of course.

    Is McCain winning?????

Please don’t lie but please tell me YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, it’s Albright. Sorry for the false alarm. They do look similar at first glance, don’t they? Same hawkish nose, same hairstyle. Beyond that I really don’t want to look too much longer.

Madeline Not-So-Bright would make more sense than Thomas.

Plus, I had heard that Helen was actually bashing Hillary here and there the last year.

But while we’re on the topic, does anyone have incidents of MSM bias from last night and this morning to report?

    I’ll start off...

Morning Joe on MSNBC, co-anchor Mika describes Huck as “pandering to evangelicals” while he’s awaiting his first question. Asks him if he thinks that strategy worked. Nice. Pandering. Like Hillary, Obama, Edwards et. al. don’t pander to tinfoiled loons?

    You’re right, Slapshot, of course.

Apologies to all, forgot to put link in article body:

I think what frosts me most is that if it were Huck with, say, Brit Hume on stage with him, the media would be freaking out.

Double standard is so blatant, so obvious...but of course it won’t get covered because that would be the MSM policing themselves.

So, everyone, whose coverage are you enjoying most this morning?

Is that Helen Thomas standing behind Hillary?

I saw a news clip of Hill's "loser" speech last night and thought it was Helen standing right behind her. Haven't been able to find a full picture of it. This was the closest thing I could find, but Hill's hands are blocking most of what I think is Helen Thomas's face.

If true, why is Helen still allowed in the press room?

I know she's been moved to the second row but still...

I know she openly stumps for Democrats and bashes Bush in speeches, but still...

The mainstream media isn't in an uproar that a "journalist" is so openly biased?

Trivial but it makes my blood boil.

Of course they know more than they’re sharing.

They have to hold a lot of information back for investigative purposes.

Not to mention, FAMILIES ARE STILL BEING NOTIFIED.

If you’ve never been in law enforcement or close to someone who has served, please don’t second-guess cops.

Some are Barney Fifes but I highly doubt an entire police force is.

A University police force is trained to deal with lots of domestic issues—there are countless boyfriend/girlfriend disputes that turn violent on campus. Security of students is first place. Keeping an open campus is their second mandate. That means anyone can come in and shoot. And the bigger the campus, the easier it is.

That is definitely Ted from Greta’s show asking questions.

Before I begin, you should know that my brother is in law enforcement.

Domestic incidents aren’t usually considered preludes to mass murder. If the campus police had reason to believe the killer had left campus, left town and was potentially leaving the state, WHY would they lockdown a campus of over 26,000 students?

The dorm where the initial murders took place WAS in lockdown as the investigation continued.

I worked as an RA for 3 years and an Assistant Residence Director for 1 year. I was at a school of 3500 students in residence, 5000 on campus during any given day—nowhere near as large as VT.

Have any of these reporters been in college? How many students do you think were still SLEEPING at 9 or even 10 a.m.? Students were in their cars, in off-campus housing, walking around campus, already in classrooms, hanging out in lounges, eating in the cafeteria...

How many people would it take to personally contact every person/room/dorm floor within minutes of the second shooting beginning?

And if people are really feeling the need to blame someone, I’d like to know how the gunman got across campus with a vest full of ammo without anyone noticing. And how did he chain up doors without anyone noticing? He must have passed students and faculty.

The questions are rude and ridiculous. The press is out of control. Yes, updates need to be given, but the time to start second-guessing isn’t while FAMILIES ARE STILL BEING NOTIFIED.

Good people (read: police officers) are being criticized by people who have no clue. If they erred, fine. The time to talk about it ISN’T TONIGHT.

Remember Katrina? All the misinformation? Let’s focus on the grief tonight, folks, and then get down to business when more facts are in and the very human and natural hysteria has passed.

    Just my two cents.

(Harry) Reid thinks Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan earthquake

Problem is, the mainstream media will never cover this. The major Dems are either traitors or spineless nut jobs (sorry, it's the truth) and they never get called on it.

    Reid, Pelosi, Rockefeller, Kennedy.

I don't see Mr. Lieberman getting lots of press because, gee, he came back from Iraq and said we're doing just fine! They sure liked him when he was running for VP. Now, he can't get his picture in the paper. Now my blood pressure's up. I've gotta get back to work.
